I prefer the head cam. It's great that you're trying to mix it up . The tangent about the fly was funny. I don't have a booth, and it has happened to me more times than not. Kamikaze flies 🤬
A Legend you are mucker. Im a year into painting the odd panel etc on catN cars and vans and made all the basic errors! im painting my own T4 campervan in dark grey 2k soon and your tips are great. Thank you
Hi Jason, very interesting video mate I like the length of your videos as you get more content and a more in depth look at what you are doing, the BMW looks mint you did a great job painting it in that heat mate as once it gets over 30C I'm out of there it's just to hot, it's been around 40C in my little booth so I just don't bother🥵 I think the first person view is better with the gopro on your head mate as it gives a more natural view of what you are doing so I would stick with that seeing as it's more work moving the camera and editing, you need to do what's best for you as you are earning a living doing this👌👍
Hey Jason, looks really good. When you mentioned the heat problems, that lit up a light bulb in my head. I know what you mean. Being from Texas, the humidity and heat are always giving problems. The temperature index would get to 104 degrees and with humidity it felt like 110. On a job that was black base for the first time I noticed after clearing, a white cloud appeared in the clear on the top section on a truck. I called my sales rep and told him about it and what caused it. He replied, it's the heat along with humidity. He told me that several dealership shops were getting the same. Now all my paint jobs I do early morning when the sun is barely peaking out to keep the bugs away and it has helped alot. The metal is way cooler and once I'm done clearing the same heat just bakes the job on it's own. Using a slow activator, reducer would not help much when it was just too hot. I just had everything prepped the previous day so I would not have any delays when starting to spray. So far it's worked for me. Just never spray when there is no sun in the morning. Freaking bugs and flies seem to find a way in when the lighting is on!!! Keep up the great work Jason. Take care
@@justice5699 thanks for your comment it must be really hard for you it’s only hot here like 3 days a year so it’s must be a real challenge for yourself Have a blessed rest of the week
@@TheHumblePaintSprayer333 It is a challenge but I have to look for ways to get the job done. Spring and Fall times are the best times for any painter. Summers are bad and well winters are not that bad, cold snaps can last for a week to three weeks and then it's just a little chilly but perfect for paint. Thanks for your reply and have a wonderful blessed weekend my friend.
I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be putting your finishing coat on and a fly lands on it ! It’s very frustrating I was spaying a tiny magnet mount mat black only 6 in round with a rattle can a few days back and a little bugger landed on that 🙄 .. car looks perfect J super job really nice great vid 👍
another great job, with masses of information, which is missing in a lot of paint videos. i dont suppose you could do a video showing the changes needed if you dont have a booth, like most DIYers?. im amazed that you dont have more subscribers, keep it up
@@Highlandsalvage cheers, yes I can I sometimes do the odd small repair like a bumper corner in the workshop or outside, so I will film the next one, I don’t change anything really apart from the drying of the base coat I use a hair dryer I don’t know 🤷♂️ I don’t really understand about the algorithm stuff I’ve got more subscribers than I ever thought I’d get 😂
Another question for ya, do you prefer 4+1 as a WoW or the dedicated f37? I tried the f37 for the first time and don’t know how I feel about it tbh. It’s completely different to 4+1.
@@lachietuxworth7848 I prefer F37 for new panels as it has better adhesion properties I find that it has to go on really wet for it to be smooth and needs a good amount of time to dry out otherwise it can cause a bit of die back 4+1 is quicker drying especially with the VR thinner and you have a the option for white
@@TheHumblePaintSprayer333thanks for the reply. I know I’ve been asking a lot of question on different vids. Our shop is on the fence whether to switch to mipa solvent. All of the products I’ve used so far have been fantastic.
Excellent work as usual I'm going to have to try that guide coat after blocking I've only used it before blocking but makes sense after blocking too for the screatches. Thanks for the tip there 💪🏼🫡
Thank you mate, the guide coat helps on the finishing sand, i never used to do it then i realised my eyes ain't no good since I got older and was missing sanding scratches and not seeing them until i got the base on there, the joys of getting old man 🤦♂️👍
mate them weeks were brutal for me let alone being stuck in that booth i feel for ya, great job as usual 👌👌👌👌
Great job as always Jason 👍
What a nightmare the Fly !
It wasn’t Jeff Goldblum was it 🤣
Thanks for sharing mate .
Cheers
Vince.
Cheers Vince, it could of been 😂
Quality of the videos has improved massively. Well done, interesting and informative content.
Much appreciated!
I could sit and watch you paint all day it’s therapeutic and the results are amazing 👍

thanks im glad its help you and good luck with the van 👍
Great work as always 😎👍🏼
Need to get a few customers reactions on camera when they come to collect their car’s once done.
Great transformation 😊
Satisfying to see a clean finish
As always great work, but also nice to see that the professionals also have to fight with dirt flies even if it is annoying
Yep there assholes it’s more common than you think even in a 60k booth
Looks amazing Jason nice job 👍

Another great bit of work! Be careful with effing and jeffing as YT don't like that mate! (although justifiable regarding that effing fly!) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks, will do!

Hi , if I already have pink primer on my car and use grey 2k paint how will this affect the end result
Brilliant video there thanks for sharing that information very useful 😅 jay when you do a blend do you use a blend additive
@@ANDY-we7mr cheers Andy, jobs with a lot of metallic will have a blender coat put on first
Im new to spray painting but whats the difference between express clearcoat and normal one? And when do you use one over another?
Express is fast drying and smaller jobs and panels most of the time
Hi does metallic paint fill 600 scratches in primer? How many coats before lacquer and how many coats of lacquer
Yes 600 grit is fine for metallics, depending on colour most jobs are 2.5 coats of base coat plus a drop coat and 2 coats of clear coat
