- In May 2019 I underwent a total hysterectomy and BSO for treatment resistant PMDD, 15 months on and I have been having a few problems, here's my update.
I chose to share my story to help others feel less alone 💚
This is my journey and mine alone, told from my perspective, in my words.

Thank you for sharing . I don’t know why people are not talking about PMDD . My life is ruined because of PMDD . I am not sure how to handle it .
Thank you for sharing. ❤
Thank you so much, I really needed to see this. I am considering this, if only my doctor would listen to me and not only the insurance company.
really helpful, thank you
Hi Emily, we met on Friday at Parliament Square ( I was the one with pink hair) I've listened to your PMDD story, wow !! You are a total inspiration. I've had a total hysterectomy due to PMDD. I finally had my op at 47yrs old. You are doing so much good by sharing your story ❤
Aww thank you, so good to meet you 🥰
Thank you for this. I hope to be in your happy place one day ❤️
Never loose hope, with the correct diagnosis and treatment there IS a life beyond PMDD 💚
Thank u so much for this, I'm going in on 19th July for full hysterectomy and just looking for someone else who's been through it. Thank for sharing it means a lot
Good luck with your surgery 💚
Cari Anne, how was it please? X
Hi, surgery went really well. Had full hysterectomy cervix removed as well, 2 big fibroids one pushing on bowel and nerves in lower spine, was in a lot of pain before surgery. Also got PCOS and endometriosis. Not going to lie first week was hard mainly due to the fact I had a spinal block as well as going under, felt like my neck and back was trapped and had bad headache for the 1st week which I was warned it was side effects and could happen after a spinal block injection, also bladder took a few days to calm down and I didn't open my bowels for 12 days after surgery which was very uncomfortable. So conclusion 😂... best thing I've ever done, 8 weeks now since surgery and I'm getting no pain at all it's amazing. I wouldn't ever have a spinal block again though and would ask hospital or buy gentle laxatives take them straight after surgery. It only took 4 days after surgery and I needed to go on HRT as I couldn't stop crying, I knew it was due to lack of hormones, you know when ur due on and you just cry for no reason it was the same as that. Within 24hrs of taking HRT I felt my normal self again. Honestly the surgery was fine im so happy i had it done I'm pain free at last. Hope this helps 👍
Mine was high. I took DIM detox to get it down and switched to bio identical hormones. The surgery has been a nightmare. I long to be who is used to be. I've not accepted the new me yet. Good luck. Hugs to you
