Wow, Doris.. I was shocked to see the really good condition of that floor pan. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing the progress on that classic Mustang. Thanks for such great content.
Also speaking from experience, make sure to take plenty of pictures of everything and all screws, bag the screws/bolts/nuts/washers and label them as to where they go. It really helps for when you reuse any of the original parts in your rebuild. Sometimes you might reuse some parts that you previously didnt think you would. And sometimes bolt kits may not exactly fit your vehicle properly and you have to resort to using the original bolts and screws.
Luckily videos I make someone help me identify the bolts. I also have pictures and videos on my phone as a reference. But I usually keep bolts and parts together just in case. All that and I will still battle it out trying to make things fit and work when I put it together lol
@@woman.driven yea thats true 😂 i took hundreds and hundreds of pictures of mine and all bolts in labeled bags and im still stuck trying to find out what goes where from time to time lol ugh
I admire your diligence , I bought an owned 69 fastback same color 351W back in 1971 from a 1 owner well kept low miles 38K A/C dual exhaust factory , I drove 7yrs with a couple upgrades to motor ,cam, distribitor ,carb a beautiful car that ran amazing
Just a hint Doris, when pulling on anything that's got glue on it. Like the carpet, spray the backside right at the two parts meet with rubbing alcohol. The alcohol helps break down the glue
I was thinking if it survived,it might be under that back seat. With the size of the mouse house under it though,I'm afraid that might be a pretty slim chance.
I can see that VERY moment when you said, YOU ARE NOT GONNA BEAT ME when removing the center part of the carpet. LOL, your face got SERIOUS...I love it. Keep pushing....you've got this.
Hopefully the build sheet is still in the seats makes for an interesting piece of the car’s history!! Looking forward to your creative take on the car!!
Those wheel dollies are awesome. Great thing to have in a shop like yours. Also just a thought could have used a heat gun to heat up the adhesive backing on the carpet to soften up and easier to remove. But glad you finally prevailed and removed. Great video content as always. Looking forward to the next video. Be safe. Take care
For the next time you want to get the rug out of a car, just use a box cutter blade. It's going in the trash either way. So, make the job easier and cut it into four parts and it should be a bit easier to take off. For the shifter knob, it should have a small hex screw to either side of the knob. The car looks great, and I can't wait to see the final results. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
The most real moment and reaction from any mechanic, or person working on a car, is at the 0:16 mark…😂😂😂 BTW, you are beautiful and have a beautiful smile!
Knee pads would have def helped. I used something similar when I pulled the dash. I realized I needed a face mask way too late lol. Thanks for giving my channel a chance ❤
Somebody not thinking of the next person glued replacement carpet in there. Original just rests in place on top of mastic sound deadener. It's a tar layer sandwiched with clear plastic at the bottom and brown paper on top. You still gotta put some kind of sound deadener over the metal for new carpet to fit right even though the new carpet has jute padding in some places. Original carpet had that same jute padding and needed the sound deadener to fit right just like your new carpet will
"I've been just a little bit freaked out to go inside and find a spider" (2mins latter): Ha! There's a spider up there 😐 Hahahahha so funny I love all your videos 😂❤
Hey Doris. I love your videos. On the Mustang, the engine is out and the inside is stripped to the bare metal. When you put a new engine in and totally redo the interior, then spruce up the exterior and get the car running, if the only thing remaining that is not new is the exterior, can it then still be accurately described as a '69 Mustang? A Mustang maybe, but will it still be a '69? I am looking forward to future videos to see the transformation of the Mustang. Peace!
Anything I do to it will still be a ‘69 Mustang. It just all depends if I go all original or resto mod a few things. I have yet to determine that as I have a lot more to go ❤
Do you notice the little drop of sealant on some of the trim screws? The carpet might have been glued down when it was replaced. The color is too consistent to be original.
You should wear a mask and goggles when dealing with mouse nest removal and cleanup. Protect your health! You should thoroughly decontaminate your classic rides. Advise you watch a couple of barn find videos by AMMONYC and WD Detailing.

At the beginning of the video when you were standing in the engine bay and said how much horsepower do you think I can make, I laughed and said to myself, "who do you think you are, a "Flintstone!" hahahahahaha "Yabba Dabba Do!"

Nice to meet you!! I'm sorry... But as soon as you started to remove the seats I realized that it would be necessary to wear a mask to protect yourself from the bad smell... A rat's nest had certainly settled inside the Mustang. More than once I noticed that you had signs of vomiting!!! It took too long to protect yourself.... But it's part of the adventure of recovering this legendary ''Muscle Car''... Congratulations!! I want to see the final result of your car makeover so I can see you parading down Rodeo Drive!!
Doris, gotta say you were really working it to get carpets out! And yuk! Who's was living in your car? Definitely don't wanna breath in any of those nasties! Hope you didn't hurt your ankle ... even tho you let out a little curse. 😅 And you did alot of bending, squatting and pulling exercises at sametime great stuff! And you look great busting it! Apparently people are saying mice 🤢.. well, it’s all clean and done. Just need to decontaminate it and fix the floor being sealing. I suspect there will be more cursing with this car haha. Thank you!

Awesome job gutting the interior, there is all kinds of car abuse/neglect, this car had it's share. A wonderful thing that you are saving this car and giving it a life again, it going to be a long journey but you will do a awesome job on her.
Well said! But that is all part of the process and I am learning as I go. Every time I do something the next question is.. how do I fix this? lol. It’ll all be worth it at the end
You are right you should have been wearing the mask from the beginning if it was pack rats (and we know about pack rats in AZ ) the dust can be dangerous so please be careful. I still laughed all the way through, your great to be so up beat all the time.

Nice job. My 66 Mustang is in about the same state. I’m hoping to be back on the road in a month or so.
I would think overalls, knee pads and a face mask would be prudent. New subscriber. Always wanted an old school mustang

Anybody seeing Velma/Daphne from scooby doo here? Love the videos. cant wait to see how it turns out at the end.
Fbomb Doris is the best 😂
That stupid seat rail really hurt lol
those are pistachio shells...
the last owner was messy, or the squirrel was 2-legged
Haha no way the last owner ate that much and left it there.. had to be a furry animal lol.
Awesome channel, love it , a real woman , and stunning
Wow 🤯 u put in lots of work ❤ hope is all with it at the end😉 enjoy the journey.
I hope so too!.. no.. I know it will be.
Find an upholstered, that can SEW,Vin your local area, also lay DYNAMAT, and also realj jiute, before the new carpet goes in.
The lord took his time creating you❤❤❤
Considering how old the Mustang is, the floor pans are in excellent shape
wow.. the front and back seats are still good, could it be that they are still original?!
