Why do they only allow you to make a certain amount with your social security or you get penalized. Will that ever change?
why would it disappear? govt can print money... don't listen to those who don't know what they are talking about.

Right, at some point they will reduce benefits such as by raising the retirement age for people who haven't yet turned 50 by that point in time. The sooner they do this, the more solvent they can keep the program.
They also need to start shifting it so that it's by age cohort: everybody born in the same year builds and shares a pool of money to draw from in retirement. This will insulate against baby boom and dips.
