@@MrGianeta Germany has not done anything wrong. In 2008, Merkel warned against NATO expansion to Ukraine, explicitly saying it will lead to war. Bush and the US twisted her arm. But she has been proved right. The Americans are an eminence grise for the Europeans, using Europe to advance US interests at the expense of Europe. The only fault of Germany and the EU is that they were not and are not strong enough to refuse America. That's the proverbial 'elephant in the room'! Gas has been flowing till recently without a disruption. So dependence has not been the problem. It was the blocking of Russian central bank account, foreign currency reserves and the denial of access to financial markets and to fund transfer platforms that transformed the scenerio.
So many Russian industries have been forced to closure by the sanctions. For example the airline transport. Their financial, shipping, insurance, space, oil exploration fields are stuttering without support or western technology . The West has imposed colossal damage on Russia. This energy crisis is a small prize the west has to pay.
Wouldn't they have factored this in while announcing the sanctions?

The US spat it's dummy out when Russia tried to install ballistic missiles there. SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THAT AND WHAT THE GOOD OLD USA ARE TRYING TO DO? As for the Ukraine, the Donbass & Crimea have historically been majority Russian, millions of Russians live there, Russia has had a military base/port there for over a hundred years.. We in the West always seem to frame our arguments to our advantage so as to always appear in the right.
Russia has argued that NATO in Ukraine or arming her poses an existential threat being at its border. Ukraine is losing territory as we speak with closer to 25% captured.
Russia has established an endless partnership with China where it can spend its Western cash and trade its energy.
Sweden and Norway were quite close to NATO anyway and Russia has threatened that a build-up of NATO capability in these two country will be countered. So I really do not see Russia regretting its actions in Ukraine especially since it has destroyed Ukraine's armament industry and military capability significantly, one of its stated objectives.

USA killed 1 million Iraqi's by sanctions and bombings... where was there no outrage over that?? Who got sanctioned???

Listen to geopolitical expert Mr Mearsheimer!
A detailed interview with him, UA-cam channel:
      Jasmin Kosubek
      Title of the video
Wrecking Ukraine: The cost of winning the war with geopolitics expert John Mearsheimer
Although he's also American to my knowledge, he said "we" (= Europe/US) made a huge mistake back in 2008 by officially stating, that Ukraine might become a NATØ member in the future, (which wasn't even a real promise to Ukraine).
As to become a full NATØ member, there're multiple steps to take/rules to follow strictly and ALL other members need to 100% agree; NO countries with unresolved on-going inner armed conflicts are allowed as new members.
Imo, that's very telling in regards to the 8 years of fighting over the pro-Russian DPR/LPR separatist "states" in Ukraine, which were also financed and organised by the Kremlin, known for their track record of using Russian minorities to start wars artificially in other countries; Mr Mearsheimer really has a point here.
Not to mention the timely parallels of "motherland Russia" itself starting the official procedures to become a full NATØ member in 2007, but lost their "official maybe-member" status after occupying Crimea in 2014 and they were totally pįssed ... in 2015 there were first reports from Russia strengthening their efforts of breeding/grooming early teenage soldiers, they always did this but it intensified drastically shortly after Crimea; this is also the main reason why we see so many of these videos with 18 -20 year old Russian soldiers/POW captured in Ukraine.
(I just found this out accidentally on Google, I had NO clue, Russia had ever attempted to become a NATØ member themselves and basically got kicked out again.
      I'm dumbfounded!)

But that would require political assent from the Green party. How likely is that to occur, and if it doesn't and there is mass unemployment, power outages and heating failures this winter, what does that portend fo the future of the Green Party?
From the point of view of the Green Party, isn't this a wonderful opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and be dependent on renewable power? So WHAT if the lights go out ------having reliable power was yesterday's luxury that must be sacrificed on the altar of preventing climate change. No nukes! No coal! In this century of time, it seems inconceivable to people in the west that a Russia would act in imperialist ways reminiscent of a hundred years ago. But here we are. So now the west is going to have to put Putin in his place. The two nations to suffer from this the most are, mainly Ukraine (obviously), and secondarily Russia. Europe will suffer too but not nearly as badly as Russia and for far fewer years. Putin has cut the legs out from under Russia for far into the future.

"to create a counterweight to Soviet armies stationed in central and eastern Europe after World War II." (reading from original charter).
2022 charter: "NATO’s key purpose and greatest responsibility is to ensure the collective defence of Allies, against all threats, from all directions. To do this, the Alliance fulfils three core tasks: deterrence and defence; crisis prevention and management; and cooperative security. "
There's also a bit of a 3 musketeers-ish, "All for one, and one for all". All in all at least on paper, it seems a conservative deterrent against wars breaking out in Europe. After all, nobody wants to pick a fight if its always going to be with everybody at once.
Because of this I'm kind of intrigued at the Middle East NATO idea, and if it would have the same cooling effect. Gods know they need a war deterrent there.

To add my 2 cents worth, It isn't Putin who has imposed sanctions on the west, it is the west who has imposed sanctions on itself. Even so, why do they expect Putin to play nice at the same time the 'west' is saying we want regime change by crippling the Russian economy? Btw in terms of oil exports, China now is the number one importer of oil, closely followed by India no doubt. The fact of the matter is, these arrogant arses (western 'leaders') have put the west on the path to economic ruin. There is a freight train coming and it will not show any mercy

      - end up sold on the ukraine dark web.
The weapons Ukrainian army managed to get their hands on are used to:
      - bomb Donetsk City, homes, schools, kindergardens, hospitals, bus stops, parks, markets, bring cities villages to rubble when they retreat or fight the Liberating armies by using civilians ethnic Russians ethic Greeks and Ukrainians who do not agree with Ukraine far right and Nazi militias as human shields.
Obviously Russian and allied armies are no where near the Ukrainian "fields of Ukraine war crimes" which has been going on since 2014. If the Russians where those missile rocket launchers would be and will be out in a second.
Until them Civilians and cities under Ukrainian army control will continue to get bombed and die.
The misuse of weapons provided to one of the most corrupt right wing openly Nazi country in Europe courtesy of British tax payer, god fearing civilised British people. The centuries old Defenders of human rights, freedom, democracy, the rule of law, morals and civilisation.
Well I am a bit ahead of myself here. Phew 😅.
Useful to say providing civilians are not Ukrainian ethnic Russians ethnic Greeks living in Ukraine (since Empreess of Russia Catherine de Great 1762 - 1796). 1564 Elizabeth I used slaves to develop conquered territories Emperess Catherine preferred to integrate Greeks and Russians with rights to the land. Terrible Catherine! Elizabeth I was far more humane civilised morally superior defenately god fearing. Ups I am off again 🤐
Anyway Providing they the other the minorities are one of us we are all above board with our principles otherwise if they happen to be the civilians of Palestine, Mali, Ethiopia, Sudan, Yemen, and Russian then freedom democracy human rights rule of law it's a matter of perspective, debate, philosophical throws: all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than other... ah ah ah, Resounding applause many likes and million of retweets.
This reality is yet to dawn on The Spectator and on 90% of the British-English people.
      The British minorities already this.
By experience a war has two sides plus a third the outsider which is to benifit from the spoils of the war.
On done side Ukraine on the other Russia and the outsider America, Britain, Europe, supported by western media and the many specialist paid to narrate the scripted agenda.
The media manufactures concent for the actions of the state and th army military industry.
One side is the outsider target ( they are holding resources we want for ourselves, are becoming too independent, too self assertive, too developed, too ambitious in ending poverty educate their children, open hospitals roads schools- they must come down). On the other side are people whose political elite have something for themselves and are prepared to have their country destroyed its citizens used as cannon fodder.
Then the media spins everything to make it look regal.
This are heroes. They fought for our freedom, democracy, values de future of our nations.
( because our American British European soldiers are suddenly cowards and can't defend ours?😳. Why Ukrainians. Because it will be more acceptable ATM home. Oh yes our ritish public will not want to see our soldiers die in Ukraine for of resources between America NATO against Russia. Very important. Menai g it can last longer than the 20 years we had in Afghanistan to build five schools made out of clay desert stone and twigs. What a Laught 🤣
So much honour in having Ukrainians die as brave heroes fighting for our (America wars) freedom democratic, moral, civilisation and (American British) values.
Rotten as this might be they still are the only true values the world must obey to and follow or die a nobody like the civilians in Mali, Ethiopia, Sudan, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Iraq killed with weapons. Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Iran, killed by sanctions. El Salvador, Columbia, killed by gangs war on drugs (Columbia drug cartel financed by the CIA).
The Reality of America's British dark states conflict will never Dawn on The Spectator.

But even if he did, he would have no need to do anything to see that “goal” achieved. This is because, at the moment, Europe is frantically crippling itself ... at the behest of its "good ally," the US, to impose self-destructive sanctions on Russia, the country upon which Europe has a historic dependence for its energy supply.
The US wants Russia's vast assets and resources, in part, to keep them from enriching China. The US would happily sell Russian resources to Europe, at a significantly increased price, of course! (Here's where the ubiquitous US projection machine enters, in this case regarding "blackmail.") However, the US would be no less satisfied if Europe had to destroy itself in order for the US to gain control of the Russian wealth.

The earliest Germany or other EU countries will get substantial supplies from Qatar is 2030 since it is Qatar policy to only increase production against long term contracts and their latest increase is committed to the UK that the EU can no longer exert influence over and Boris has said if UK supplies are insufficient the UK will stop flows to Europe not only from the UK's own gas fields but that supplied by Qatar that is currently flowing to the Netherlands. Qatar has called for investment proposals for the next expansion and whichever energy company comes up with the best proposal will get the gas but it took seven years for the last increase so we cannot expect these supplies before 2030. There is also a limit to supplies from the US since the Biden administration is not increasing fracking and their Green policy calls for more use of gas to back renewables. So like Grimm's fairy tales this is another one created by German politicians that will not end well. What was not a wise policy was Germany failing to put pressure on Ukraine to abide by the Minsk Agreement and not supporting Russia's reasonable request for a new security agreement and instead agreeing to commit economic suicide by supporting the US neocon provocation of the war in Ukraine. Russia offered Germany and the EU the perfect partnership of energy and food and a large market for EU goods. This was not a risk to the EU but was a risk to US hegemony which is why we find our selves in the current situation which will throw the Eu into long term poverty. Russia is no worse off for switching off gas and oil now than oil in February 2023 and gas in three years, if that is achievable. As J P Morgan have shown this would put oil prices over $300 per barrel and gas up six to eightfold over the pre war price. Russia will find other markets with lowered sales covered by higher prices with much of the oil finding its way back into the EU at higher prices for refined products which are absent any signature of Russian origin and you are not even talking about food, fertilizers or metals needed for German industry or that NATO is moving to sanction China in the same way as Russia and so bang goes a major market for German goods. Putin has stated his objective is to destroy NATO and the way to do this is to stress the EU economy to breaking point. Stoltenberg in his dreams plans NATO expansion and rearmament but which country is going to be in a position to maintain their present armed forces never mind pay for all this new expensive equipment the US industrial-military complex are salivating over supplying and a reason their neocon satraps started the war in Ukraine.

Russians have discovered something very interesting in the past few months. Due to EU's sanctions and posturing, the amount of oil that Russia sells to EU countries has been reduced. Yet because the price of oil went up so much, Russia is making just as much money or even MORE money than before, while selling less oil. And the EU countries are suffering economically due to the high energy prices, price inflation of consumer goods is at an all-time high.
This is a win-win situation for Russia, and I think they will just stick with it. Reduce the amount of oil and gas by, say 30 or 40 percent. You still make the same amount of money as before the war because of the high prices! Russia suffers nothing, Europe suffers a lot. Makes a lot more sense than cutting off ALL the oil and gas, then Russia makes nothing.

The EU should work with Russians to shape the future of Europe (Security & Economy) instead of them being dictated on what to do all the time.

So the fact that Russia had to cut the supply of gas by 40% because of maintenance to equipment that had to go to Canada to get repaired which was then held in Canada because of the sanctions placed on Russia and therefore couldn't / wouldn't send it back= Russia's fault, you couldn't make it up. if Germany had any balls at all it would have got this sorted and yet they still haven't, also the fact that the EU / Germany decided to absolutely shaft themselves up their own stupid arses doesn't even get a mention.
If any of us treated our family / friends the way that the west has shown and continues to treat Russia then they deserve everything thats coming to them, I personally would have shut down just about everything as soon as the Russohysteria started, the fact that Russia has only used the Ruble for payment of its energy / commodities shows us who the sane people are in Europe

It's not 3 years of a bumpy ride for Germany or EU, it's 30 years of high gas prices and death of Green energy transition because of the downturn in the GDP. Pipelines across land is much easier than undersea like Nord Stream. It is the best case scenario that the EU replaces Russian gas in 3 years, every thing has to right and the suppliers need to found and this doesn't account for the price rises.

Best case scenario is to boot terrorstate USA out of Europe .
Leave N-orth A-merican T-error O-rganisation and start EUDA European defense alliance including Russia ❤️
This will also be a transition but much easier to do . Europe has the skills to do anything it wants without the influence of terrorstate USA. Worldpeace gets a lot more in reach if we get terrorstate usa out of Europe.
