This song means more and more the older you get. Its not until more years are behind you than in front of you that we can respect the efforts of all those who lived before us and tried to make a difference in a world that is filled with turmoil.

I don't think any of these girls singers coming up now can sing, IF you have to get on the stage half naked to hold they're attention, your not a good singer and the majority have to dance , Theres nothing wrong with dancing or wearing clothes that show almost everthing to get attention if that's what you like, BUT you shouldn't have to do that on the stage to keep they're attention..Also I don't understand half the words they're singing. They repeat the same line over, and over, They're not telling stories ,like George and the other guys back then.. Just a couple of them do..But most of them are fast songs so they can dance on the stage., Just miss all the old singers when I was young.. I read that his wife said that the day he died he had not been talking at all for a while and they knew he’s time was almost up. He suddenly opened his eyes and smiled and and said “ Hi, I’ve been waiting for you. I’m George Jones..”. Then he closed his eyes and went to Heaven. I hope I get to meet him when I get there.
Charlie Pride just passed this weekend. He was one of the greats!! Thank God for his music. It will always be timeless. And, no one will ever be able to fill his shoes!! R.I.P. Charlie. You will be missed!

I saw Charlie several times when he visited (NZ) and I listen to his (LP) Live at Panther Hall regularly. I love u-tube but there is nothing like a well kept vynyl record to reproduce the best sound.
Charlie died of covic 19 pandemic of the world.

Wow thank God for you people,who are older and wiser ,and very knowledgable about country music simply because we lived it, waylon was my king ,and so was haggard,and everyone else in the 50's & 60's I think this song was the greatest song ever made because every king was mentioned, and who would do that but a king himself (queen )cause there will never be a ???????,to fill their shoes,this song was george jones signature mark before leaving this world,it included everyone who made country , country. That was honoring those before him , during him ,and those after him , so we had that best country era and we were a part of it.
