Hot Wheels Velocity X - 1v1 Multiplayer Battles

Finally! I have been wanting to do this for a long time. Using the programs Parsec and Dolphin Emulator, I was able to let Alaxend0l, an HWVX speedrunner, fan, and someone I've known, connect to my computer and control the second player port, so we could play local multiplayer, but online. For the first part of the video, I used keyboard and he used a controller, but later on he switched to keyboard. The only issue with this whole system is that Alaxend0l, the one connecting to me, has a bit of delay from when he presses keys to when the action happens, nothing major though.

2021 and I'm watching one of my favorite childhood CD games turn multiplayer for the first time ever.

The first 3 battles were on a file where I didn't have any extra cars or maps unlocked, but starting at the 4th battle, we began using cars besides the starters, and playing other maps. The rule we went by the whole time was not allowing Energy Shield or Armor Repair. Starting at the 6th battle, we also banned Magnet Mine.
My favorite moments are:
4:51 - Super Zapper snipes with mid-air snipe for the kill
21:15 - Worth it? Lol
23:58 - We both kill each other
31:23 - Firing through the gate!
48:53 - Close fight

If my memory serves correctly, the Nintendo GameCube version allowed up to 4 players, which is strange because the PS2 version only had up to 2 players and the PC version had no Multiplayer at all.

I had an unusual idea for HWVX earlier today. The Velocity X Randomizer. Though this would immediately be denied if somehow it's Impossible to mod HWVX in any capacity.
If you've seen anything from the Randomizer mods made for games such as Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, or Sonic Adventure 2, it would be somewhat similar to that.
In theory, a runthru with this Randomizer mod installed would be the 14 Missions of Adventure, and/or the 18 Challenge Missions. What becomes different though is that every individual Adventure or Challenge is replaced with something else, be it an Adventure, Challenge, Battle, Dragrace, or Joyride. Your Vehicle is always randomly chosen, as is your Gadget if you've landed on Joyride or Adventure. If it's a Battle the Gadgets are randomly selected, as is the Arena, Timer, Score Limit, and Opponent number. If it's a Drag Race, the Track, Opponent number, Gadgets and Win limit are randomized. If it's Joyride, your goal is to find the Key, that's it. Locale is chosen randomly.
This would also randomize every NPC vehicle that spawns. While this is normal for Battle and Dragrace, it isn't normal in Adventure. Nothing could say chaos better than driving Super Tuned and facing off against Otto in Hyper Mite, and having to defeat him with a Super Zapper because the Anninilator didn't randomly spawn in.
If you select Adventure 1, and complete whatever game that ends up being, a Continue prompt would appear at the end which will take you to Adventure 2, which would of course also be randomized. Only stipulation is that Adventure 14 will always be Adventure 14 and Challenge 18 will always be Challenge 18, and A14 will roll the final cutscene and credits after it ends. However that isn't to say that Adventure 3 couldn't ALSO be Adventure 14, and as previously stated, Otto and Rupert, along with Rupert's crew could spawn in as ANY vehicle.

I still don’t understand why doom disks’ damage is so inconsistent.

Hi , what’s your take on doom disks damage , never been able to understand it for awhile as it’s very unpredictable, sometimes it doesn’t do much sometimes it OHKOs a AI on easy (those 30 armour ones)

I agree, it’s pretty unpredictable. Sometimes it kills in one hit and it’s the best weapon ever, other times it sucks and does like no damage. It’s just the nature of how the disks work. I usually get instant kills when the disk hits an enemy, and gets stuck in that spot and kinda floats in the air slowly, and because it’s touching the enemy, it’s doing constant damage over and over.

You know something? I have a suggestion. Here are my ideal cars for battle:
1. Hammered Coupe
2. Deora II
3. Hyperliner
4. Surfin School Bus
5. Evil Twin
6. Lakester
7. Mega Duty
8. Power Rocket
It’s best to do one player against 3 computer players. More fun that way. Also 3 rounds and destroying the vehicles 5 times should be good enough. Those are the default settings.
