Years ago when I was working IT, I had a boss that would play this against me and my coworkers when there was nothing to do... This being IT, there usually wasn't much to do. Even with 3 - 4 of us playing against just the one boss, he'd wipe the floor with us every. single. time. I imagine he's still playing AoE II like this 13 years later. You're not kidding about how dedicated the fans of this game can be!
When you discover macro, and infantry that doesn't cost gold, it essentially turns into a new game. With decent apm you can continuesly produce from about 10 barracks, usually flooding the opponent with pikemen before imperial age.

@Urk It was always better to wall-in your opponent than to wall-off your town. Wooden wall being cheaper it was more efficient to have 3-4 layers of wooden wall than a stone wall. It was all in the resource management - with food and wood being almost infinite and gold and stone very limited. So with the same effort you could produce 10 swordsmen or 50 pikemen. Swordsmen were better, but the sheer number usually allowed to quickly overwhelm the unsuspecting opponent.
As an American, I'd take Britain over Trump and our bullshit Congress. Their Parliament might not do much, but at least it does it for a fraction of the cost and ten times the entertainment. And without the bullshit our Senate pulls, using rules meant to "clarify" official procedures to force through any provision the majority wants by a single vote. I'm up for it, give us back the Brits. It could be a quid pro quo: the Brits take on all our political bullshit, and they get a GDP larger than the EU to negotiate Brexit with. Everyone gets good trade deals, we get rid of our bullshit system, and if we do the turn around quick enough we can rebel again with our modern military. Everybody wins!

@David Frick exact opposite actually, nothing but a map covered in trees. Basically you chop wood to make room for your farms to get the food to go to feudal age, then once you're there you sell all your wood in the market to buy other resources. Seige onagers are usually made to cut down trees in castle age to speed it up a bit. Theres a video on it on t90's channel that Spiffing shouted out this video.

O-rings can dampen key noise slightly, and you can isolate your mic from the vibrations by mounting it off your desk and adding a shock mount if you don't have one. A lot can be done in software as well; noise gates, noise cancelling and the like

This was the first RTS game I've played back in 2003 when i was 6, and I'm still playing it from time to time
