    Thank you for the “real” honest review! I’m 5’6 140 lbs and was going to get this until this video. If it’s too tall for a six foot guy, it would be impossible for me. Thank you.

    My 17 250FX doesn't flame out at all....probably the best suspended off road bike Ive ridden,incredibly stable and soaks up everything(I am 190ish lbs in riding gear).Best starting 4 stroke Ive owned,incredible motor for a 250.....lugs in 3rd for a lot of trail,great 1st gear for the real tight singletrack.Clutch is very nice for a cable and doesn't give me grief.Being 5'9" the bike is very tall.....the gytr low seat helped that.Yes its a bit heavier than a ktm 250 xcf but not terrible.Bike is loud....I try to wear ear plugs.Really the height of bike is the ONLY complaint I could think of.....Maybe I will do the lowering link in rear.I love it in tight singletrack or fast open track.

    I have the same bike, and ride the same new england terrain. If you are coming from a 2 stroke there is definitely a learning curve going to a 4 stroke (engine braking etc). This bike is def on the heavy side (compared to a 2t) and is crazy tall. That said I think it is the best suspended bike i've had. The harder you push it the better it handles.

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  4 роки тому

      It's a great bike and like I responded to another comment . Perhaps I wasnt enough to really handle the bike and show it who's boss ..I mean I did well on it race wise but definitely feel faster back on a 2t ..I suppose it's all just personal preference

    Totally agree with everything you said!! I had one, but it was an F and not an FX, and that thing destroyed my energy

    • @gsxrstyle

      Absolutely..great bike but not for netra hare scrambles

    • @snowrider4495
      @snowrider4495 4 роки тому +1

      Do you think it destroyed your energy because you were able to shred harder without realising it? just a thought of my experoience ,i went from a kx450f 250lbs! to a 2019 yz250x 225lbs and i am more tired on my yz250x due to riding harder and not realizing it! I love 2 wheels!

    • @Bimmere
      @Bimmere 4 роки тому +1

      Snow Rider I ride harder and faster on My KTM and it doesn’t tire me out at all, after my harescramble race I feel like I can go again!!

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  4 роки тому +1

      @@snowrider4495 I will admit I think that bike is beyond my riding ability to shred it as hard as its capable of . I did however start to really get intune with it my last 2 races after softening the suspension all the way . I'm back on a 2t now and instantly felt back at home . The fx is a great bike but maybe I just dont feel confident on a 4 stroke the way I do on the new bike. Its definitely 2 different riding styles for sure ..that engine brake is a momentum killer 😂

    • @snowrider4495
      @snowrider4495 4 роки тому +1

      I doubt it is your riding ability! but i think your right you have to have that feeling of being in charge of your bike! 20 % bike 80% rider time on the bike/mentality!

    Hey, just wondering if you made up your own mapping or whether you found some maps somewhere? I can’t find any for my 18”. Cheers,Damon

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  4 роки тому

      It's the power mapping that should be an option on the tuner or yamaha website I did not make my own

    The only thing I don't agree with is the fact that you compared to the f model but it's actually a lot more close to the WR250F than the yz250f, it weights the same, as the wr, but is a bit better tunned...

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  4 роки тому

      Yes you are right I didnt even think of the wr it is very comparable. But I never rode a wr so I had to compare it on the regular f model that I owned a yr prior .the fx is a fantastic bike and your videos helped me make my decision to buy it .its been a great learning experience racing this bike

    How did your radiator guards fit with the cooling fan? I passed on buying those for my FX as I read reviews that said they wouldn't work together.

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  4 роки тому +2

      The fan does actually fit but it did take quite a bit of finagling. And I do believe I'm putting stress on the brackets that mount to the front rad guards ....I really dont even recomend these rad guards I bent mine to shit even with the extra bracing as a purchase option..go with bullet proof rad guards

    • @gsxrstyle

    Hi, how did you finally seal your rear fender?

    • @gsxrstyle
      @gsxrstyle  4 роки тому

      So I never actually sealed it the proper way I used very thick plastic bag type material and surrounded all the brackets and electronics with it snug with zip ties . Its held up perfectly fine through all the deep mud races and countless power washes
