    Awesome video man, I use the same methods as you with my klx 400. I change my oil every 60 hours. I use Castrol conventional motorcycle oil. It cost $5 for a 1 liter bottle. Cheap oil but good oil. I reuse my o-rings like you do, I just check them to make sure they seal and arnt warped or deteriorating. Replace my oil filter every change. My bike has just over 2000 running hours on the hour meter. I've never had to do a thing to it. Follow your owners manual exactly and you wont have an issue. Thanks romaniac! Your bike is looking great

      Everyone hears about racers changing there oil after every weekend or race and they immediately think they need to do the same. What a waste. I have 2056 running hours on a bike that starts up first click of the button & runs perfect. The motor had never been opened either. People your wasting your money and the oil. Follow your owners manual. BTW, its extremely rare to find anything that actually requires synthetic oil rather then Mineral, how good does the oil need to be for your engine to survive? Good video buddy.
    This is not a criticism and I did this on DBS channel too, mostly because he doesn’t have a bike long enough to imo be telling people to use any old oil it’s fine.
    Your case I know you will, but it’s still early days and I am sure you will be fine, but just note this, you have minion but particles on each filter and plug, something I’d wearing inside, regardless how minor, that’s 3 sides of the motor, extra oil eg too much can actually do damage it can cause slugging and foaming of oil. For those that change they’re oil more often good on them I say especially if racing regularly, if you haven’t raced you won’t understand.
    Stick to your manual sure good advice, but also listen to what your bike is telling you, if it’s doing that every oil change, look,at your oil type, look at your frequency.
    Very very good tip on your oil filter re the stainless steel over the paper. That impressed me. 🤙
    I do the same in my Subis, I run KnN because the anti drain back seals are a silicone over a rubber better life and seal, the seal is key, deal better with extreme heat and cold temps which we have here, plus keeps oil in the filter to prevent a cool or dry start, has a bypass spring vs a stamped steel again just better performance, metal end caps vs cardboard slices and material even number and quality of the pleats uses impregnated, oh impregnated sounds like, lol better for racing and high flow rates and is wire back supports the filter for longer, Wix is also a good option.
    So with your filter what I notice is the ends caps the please quality the magnet all will be doing a superior job, nice work. I’d maybe look at doing your oil change a bit sooner for longevity of your engine regardless of your manual if your run oil so cheap why risk it. Personally aid run better oil as well as I see signs minor maybe but that’s how issues start especially with these new four-strokes.
    Btw while you were fluffing with your filters, I’d done mine and gone riding on my 2t 👻 couldn’t resist 🤪🤪

    • @maverick2242
      @maverick2242 6 років тому

      H I I’d rather talk to racers than read the internet on that advice, paper also loses its integrity, unless you can support that with fact micron levels type of paper number of pleats it’s just another internet must be true comment, also the filter he’s using has a magnetic catch so has multiple redundancy particle features.
      If racing, racers will change them regularly, will not be used for 100s of hours, when you race you don’t skimp on low cost details, that causes expensive costs there or later at the next race, this is proven in every form of motorsport, not hearsay and been there done that, so not good advice for a weekend warrior.
      If you want to be cheap, on cheap parts, then go right ahead sooner or later it will catch up with you unless you sell your bikes regularly like some do. Then you pass your problems onto someone else. Nice😔
      Frankly unless you have had a bike for at-least a year done at-least one top end, most advice on reliability or your maintenance regime for advising others is just meaningless.

      Our mechanic guys here touch oil, gas, gasoline every day without gloves.. They are doing that for over 30 years and the don't have problems on it.. Maybe there is but it won't hurt you if you do it few times during change oil.. ;)
