    Nice rig, I use a stiff coated braid with stripped section near hook for the same effect. Means I don’t have to tie an Albright

    Hi, im after some advice im fishing a lake where you can only fish hookbaits no groundbaits, pva bags etc literally just your hookbait.
    I usually use pva bags personally i use them because i feel more confident my rig wont be tangles on cast so my question is what do i need to do to rig wise or anything else to know im not going to be tangled on cast thank you.

      mmmmm after reading further comments about safe or un safe, I don't know where to go now! but kinda of feel you'd wouldn't use a un safe set up.

      @Mark Evans what you on about the rig can come of the leader and the lead can come of the leader how is it not safe ?

    • @totalcarpmagazine
      @totalcarpmagazine  3 роки тому +4

      Set up correctly in this way with a loose gripping safety top bead such as this, a drop-off helicopter is considered a safe rig. The safety bead will slip off the silicone tubing with minimal pressure and this will usually happen on the take. The C-clips discharge under 3/6lb of pressure, so typically fall off if they become weeded or on a particularly violent take, at which point the bead would already be discharged. Also, using a shorter length leader helps improve the safety of any form of leadcore. Hope this helps.

      @@totalcarpmagazine please show me this. Put the rig in your gob without a hook when the lead has been dropped and show us how the top bead pops off. It’s impossible FACT.

    • @jaymakes
      @jaymakes 3 роки тому

      The top bead will always come off way before the lead. It's as simple as that!

    • @jamesgibbons901
      @jamesgibbons901 3 роки тому +1

      @@jaymakes if the fish has picked up a 3lb c clip that lead drops on the take. The top bead is still in place. The whole system relies on the weight of the lead to free the top bead. Without the weight of the lead the top bead cannot become free. Try it yourself....

  • @spongeyspongey5983
    @spongeyspongey5983 3 роки тому +2

    I disagree! if you lose the lead during the fight and then you crack off or get cut off, the carp can't shed the leader!!
    you should never drop the lead on a helicopter rig, you need the weight to help the fish escape.... very unsafe rig!
    I hope you will consider this Gaz and amend your video.... otherwise we could end up with some dead carp, thanks mike

      @@spongeyspongey5983 I'm a carp fisherman but the fella above is 100% correct if we really really cares for the carp we wouldn't fish for them. Yes we care for the carps and we handle them with care but that doesn't change the fact we still put them in very stressful situations for are own pleasure (pleasure of sport) We care for them so much we want to ram a hook through their lip and drag them out the water for a pretty photo.

      @@fishingforbiteswithmo you won''t bully me into agreeing with your bad practices, if you are going to fish for carp you should respect them and do everything in your power to 'limit' the risk to them, now go back to pushing your wife around, you won't get anywhere with me haha! It is a shame gaz won't admit he could be wrong, it seems ego trumps fishcake..
