- Hanging out in the Marlin Firearms booth at the 2023 SHOT Show to look at the new 336 Classic .30-30 Winchester and the 1894 .44 Mag.
These are a couple guns we are VERY excited about and can't to get our hands on them and do full reviews!
Powder & String Outfitter - YOUR Hometown Shop!
Thank you Ruger for keeping the Marlin brand alive! Now bring on the octagonal barrels!
That"s great but I own one already. What I would buy is a 336 Marlin in 500 Smith & Wesson magnum!!! What a great brush gun for bear hunting that would be! ☺️🤗
Big horn armory makes one in 500sw mag. Im interested in their 500 auto max in an AR platform
or a Lever Action 454
Stainless with a 10-shot capacity.
@@chrisredwolf3130 why not a 45-70?
@@TheCesplin Don’t get me wrong 45-70 is a amazing and versatile cartridge. i love 45-70 but looking a size 45-70 needs to have a 26in barrel to get 9rds into the gun where 454 would need to be that long for 10rds. also a decent amount of people like to have a handgun in the same caliber which ruger makes only Magnum Research makes a 45-70 revolver.
Luckily i’m not one of those people but i know a lot that are and i know 454 has been requested before. personally i’m happy with a 45-70 rifle and a 44mag or 10mm handgun.
@@ryanthomas2374 Yes, Big Horn makes a fine rifle but I'd rather have a Marlin. Besides did you see what Big Horn wants for one? Maybe it's just me but it's pretty high dollar. Speaking of that I remember when Marlin used to pride itself for selling model 336's for $99.99. LOL, those days are over! 😄
How about just making the rugar made 1895 in 45 70 availiable so we dont have to buy them for 3k on gunbroker. That would be a great start imo.
There happy selling them on GunBroker they make more money that way
@@Ray-ho8dw oh scumbag gunshops yeah they sure do. But hey greed is a mofo make that money .
@@mattmorrison9379 it's not just gunshops doing it the disdutors
I see them come into shops a d dont even get a chance at being sold at msrp of 1400.00. Straight to gun jocker . But that's been my experience as of the last 8 months or so. The distributor doing that is even worse imo.
YES, fucking-yes! Been waiting on that 30-30!!!
Marlin 336ss stainless steel 30-30.?
We're actually waiting for the 336c in .35 Remington.
Don't hold your breath lol. Ruger isn't bringing anything back in 35 remington
@@BigSam63 35 Remington is really one of the main reasons the 336 has a big following
38-55 for those that live in straight wall only hunting states.
The 35 Remington is what I'm waiting for
@@blueduck9409 i think the cartridge OAL will keep that from happening
i took my first deer in college with a 336c way back when... so happy to see they are bringing it back! lets go!!!!
I took my first wife,,,, I mean my first wife took my 336c😂😅
The elephant in the room that no one has addressed to Ruger yet is the insane pricing for what you're getting.
This right here. I don't mind 6-800 for one but over a thousand and I'm buying a henry
$799 not a penny more. Two weeks ago I got lucky, mint 336 1974 for very reasonable price.
Exactly
@@sergeantdwz5783 I had a 44 mag lever and traded it off for some stuff back in the 90’s. I have since acquired a Henry 45/70 and I’ll never have anything else but Henry.
All lever guns are at insane prices now. Tried to find a Henry side gate in 357 magnum and it's nowhere to be found online. And if it is, it's running $1100+ with people bidding on it! Crazy to see a 700-800 rifle being sold for hundreds of dollars above MSRP.
Wish they produce the model 60 again.
The Marlin rimfires are likely not coming back. The model 60 competed directly with the 10/22 and bolt actions competed directly with ruger American rimfires. Highly doubtful ruger brings that back.
@@prowler10393 well I can't imagine that'd be true. If you own your biggest competition it's not competition it's just increasing your market share. Plus since there's so many different 10/22 clones I can't imagine sales continuing at their pace for ruger. So a cheaper standalone is nice. Especially since it'd compete with savages offerings under 200
@Mr.forge ruger is not going open assembly lines for Marlin rimfires like what old Marlin had. Look at the overhead costs involved, and the price point for which they were sold. There is no business standpoint for that when your business already produces a range of rimfires in the same price point. Ruger already axed the 77/22's, which was a quality rifle compared to the American line. Why would they create another budget rimfire line?
.338 Marlin loading is excellent longer range power house.
30/ 30 Winchester loading a fine all around mid power alternative.
Might bring back the .444 Marlin loading for extra close range knock down power.
I Would Love to see Ruger / Marlin bring back the CB ( CowBoy ) Models.
I Always love the design of the CB models with both the 1895CB & 336CB having 26in Fully Octagonal Barrels & Full Length Mag Tubes giving them a 9-shot capacity.
And with the 1895 there was a version that was a 410 shotgun i wonder if they will bring back?
I know Henry makes a good 410 lever action with a 19.5in or 24in barrel and
5-shot capacity BUT
Marlin could take it a step farther be making a 22in or 26in barreled 410 with a 8-shot capacity.
Yes and it would be hard to have the sights canted on octagon barrels
I have a mid 50s 336sc, .35 Remington.
Thump.
Thanks for covering these classics, no one else is!
Now they need a lever action .22 carbine
Still waiting on the 444 Marlin!
1892 take-down in .357 Mag
Plz
I never owned the .44 Mag carbine due to so many complaints about recoil. But did have the 1894 Marlin in .357 mag was great. Still kick myself for selling it.
I will be acquiring at least one of these firearms this year. Can't wait for the release of all of them.
Should bring the 45 Colt in a 20 inch 1894
THANK YOU!!! FINALLY!!! I've been waiting to hear news about the Marlin 94! I can't wait to pick one of these up omfgggg
Bring back the .338 Marlin. It's like the beloved .348 Winchester.
Need to come out with the 45-70 cowboy, that was the best marlin I ever owned, never should have sold it.
Cowboy Up !
Beautiful news on awesome firearms.
The look of Walnut is classic and perfect for these lever action game getters.
New!? I have my grandfather's 1951 Marlin 335C in .35 Remington with a full length 20" barrel, which he gave to me when I started High School in 1962. I've hunter with it all over North, Central and South America, Europe and Africa. NOTHING beats a Lever Action in .35 Rem.
Need one in the new Remington 360 buck hammer would be cool, but my heart will always belong to a 444 marlin!
What is the MSRP on the 336?
I would love a 336, but I really want one in 35 Remington. I'd even be interested in one in this new 360 Buckhammer. I would like to get my hands on a new Ruger made Marlin, but so far they haven't come out with anything that is much different than what I already own. I already have 2 30-30s, a 45-70, and a 44 magnum. I'd like something else.
I just want a stainless with wood stock tube fed XT-22 bolt action.
~Is a new Marlin 336ss (stainless steel) 30-30 going to be available.?
~But a Henry Long Ranger, 308 Win, detachable magazine is the second best lever-action available new right now. Still the very best lever-action ever made still available new is the Browning BLR ‘81 stainless steel (available in Takedown and regular) detachable magazine, available in regular and magnum calibers.
Great job, Eric!
I wish Ruger/Marlin's efforts would be more geared toward upping production of the previous models in lieu of bringing out new ones that nobody will be able to find.
Bring back the 60 in tubular and magazine versions please
Wondering if any of them will be under $1000.
If they want to sell enough of
em to make production feasible,
they'll have to address the issue
Not in this day and time . Too much overhead .
I'd like to get an 1894 in 357, I have one already but it's the 1894 csbl in 357, but would like one with the classic blues steel and walnut stock.
I want a stainless steel 336 with a 16in barrel
YES, the 336ss in stainless steel, 30-30. Another stainless steel lever-action is the Browning BLR with detachable magazine in both regular and Takedown.
Don’t we all. Threaded barrel too. I’d take their current lineup just in 357 or 30-30 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Waiting patiently for this 336 30-30 😎
Thank you
Thank you, Ruger, for saving the Marlin 336!
Question:
From the two distinctly different displays behind the presenter, if only given one option, would the young and aspiring enthusiast (tomorrow's enthusiast) pick a rife from the wall on the left or the wall on the right?
I was hoping for a 336 BL!!!
336ss stainless steel 30-30.?
We have a 30-30 Win and want a new Ruger-Marlin . Right now for us ammo is hard to find in stores and is high priced!
Will get one of these for sure!
About damn time!
…and the 336ss in stainless steel.
I want to see a stainless1894 in a saddle-ring carbine. If they release one, I'll buy it in a second.
Hot dog! I’m waiting for this one and the 357.
Max, also take a look at the Ruger 77-357 rifle that’s available new.
But it’s a bolt. 😅
@@DoctorMeatDoesHousecalls ~Yes, he,he,ha, it’s a bolt-action rifle!! It’s stainless steel with a detachable magazine in 357 magnum. Still good if a person can do without a lever-action.
I'm hoping that they rerelease the 1894 dark.
I wish they would remake the Marlin camp carbines. Especially in 45 ACP. I know they have the Ruger PC carbine but it us only in 9mm.
They can price them high, and they probably will. The problem is that people will still buy them at $999 and higher. It will take a bit for the market to correct itself, then you might see the prices drop to the $800 range. Like it or not, that’s the industry currently.
Yes!
So sweet!
Why NO Threaded Barrel on the 44 mag.? That is a deal breaker for me.
Great but can we get them in a 24" barrel? And corresponding tube capacity increase?
Very nice rifles.
Are we going to be paying prices based on new tooling setup? M336, MSRP $899.?
It costs what it costs. Buy it..or not.
@@BadBrad46 might need to unwad your panties dude.
I would like to get one in 360 Buckhammer (if they ever available), but I'm not ready to pay more than $799.
336ss in stainless steel 30-30.?
336 in 35 Remington wheeeeen ?
336ss stainless steel.
I wish they'd move away from the rectangular loop lever on the 30-30 models. The oval shape we get on the 1895 models is more natural to the hand, especially for men wearing gloves. I'm sure it's an easy and inexpensive change.
Glad to see something that's not plastic......... Just wish they made the 336 in more calibers. I'm curious of the the quality when Remington owned them I was swamped with repairs I'm no professional gun smith but I stayed busy.
~Is the new Marlin 336ss (stainless steel) 30-30 going to be available.?
~But a Henry Long Ranger, 308 Win, detachable magazine is the second best lever-action available new right now. @@royjohnson465 I wish the still made the savage 99 idk when the new 30-30 will. available from what I know there is not date but pretty soon from what I heard. And idk if stainless will be available right off the bat.
@@TheMark9013 ~I see, yes I agree, my dad use to own a Savage model 99, there also use to be a Takedown 99 version. But I own a Winchester model 88, in 308, lever-action with a detachable magazine, a beautiful rifle.
Bring back the 39a. PLEASE
They can’t even provide a reliable supply of the SBL to make the prices be reasonable.
Where is the 1894 in .357 Magnum? When will this be available ? What is the price on the .44 Magnum?
In 2019 I bought a used Marlin 336 XLR with 140 rounds of 30-30 from a friend for $700. You can't even find them anymore. Where is all the 30-30 anyway?
I have been waiting and wanting the 1894 in 44 magnum in stainless steel.
No rimfire?
Cool. I wonder if Marlin is going to drop the micro groove rifling on the new 336. That did not give the best accuracy with the 30-30.
I hope they do.
Absolutely wrong. EVERY one I ever shot was almost MOA at 100 yards..and most of those with 150gr Remington Core-Lokts. They outshot EVERY M94..everytime.
I've never had any problems
with microgroove Marlins as
long as properly sized bullets
were used. A 44 mag I was
using needed 433 cast to
function properly, and jacketed
were never a problem
I wonder if Ruger will make a Marlin 336ss (stainless steel) 30-30.?
If they're not affordable, they'll
be wasting their time and investment. People that want
a user lever action will buy a
Henry
Not sure what good it will do to come out with new rifles when I ordered a 1895 sbl 18 months ago and my gun shop still can’t get one. Might as well be selling unicorns
I'm waiting for the Marlin XLR to re-appear on the production line.
Lighting!
I was hoping for a 44mag Trapper.
Favorite gun and i still wont pay over 600. Didnt cover price though.
Does anyone know if the 30/30 barrell is threaded ?
It is not
The great thing about Ruger owning them is I hope they use better steel than Marlin as Original Marlins rusted from a finger print in a day. :(
With the current wave of anti semiauto rifle bans and restrictions, they should bring back the 16 inch barrel 1894 in 357, and add 45 Colt and 44 mag
Double barrel lever action, one barrel fires, then the other, like a side by side shotgun, 1 trigger, 2 loading gates
Or just side by side rifle.
Nah
yeah, Im sure thats a priority.
@@sealove79able Stupid.
@@BadBrad46 Thank you.Yeah. But why are 2 shots of .44/.357Mag/45-70 /30-30 too little?
About time Marlin slimmed down their forearms ........Hopefully Ruger makes Marlin good again n fit n finish along with their Pic rails are straight... be well..
Now... modify and add the Henry tube loading.
Make a 375win big bore 94 and then we will talk ruger...
What about the 336A
Let’s see a 350 legend lever action already
I hope they make a 1894 sbl in 44 mag. 18 or 20"
I wonder if the sights are canted like on the 45-70’s I’ve seen so far. Only Ruger charges you double for the same canted sights
The lights not right, can’t see the firearm properly.
Wear a white shirt to give more contrast between the firearm and the shirt.
GOOD FIREARM !
😯👍👍 VERYGOOD i from THAILAND PATLUNG 20 1. 2023
What has happened to the 444 marlin.
No 45 Colt 1894?
Do they still make the 35 cal marlin
Have seen any new 17HM2 Semi Automatic? Thanks in advance. 🇨🇦👍
Id say, with YOU being the only one wanting such a thing..priority it is NOT.
@@BadBrad46 Lol, so many have interest They just don’t ask. There are a Lot of Monkeys in the Jungle but Only One Lion 👍🇨🇦
Now if they would just make an 1873 model.
A bigger bang? An offering in 7.62×54mmR would sell. It's rimmed and the 30-06 Springfield is not.
Dear Ruger. Please make a 480 Ruger lever action!!
Only want to know one thing.....When is the new Marlin Model 60 coming out ?
No mention of the "micro groove" barrels that were problematic for the Marlins . . .
I'd buy a lever action today, if I could get it magazine fed in 44 mag.
they need an 1894 in 9mm and 45 acp
we need 35 rem.
Hope Marlin get the lever guns right !
450 marlin PLEASE
At what cost .20 grand
he didn't mention 45LC, that's what I'm waiting on
also need 22 mag and 22long rifle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So. Is quality control still shit at the "new" Marlin?
Another $1500 Marlin
Remington sold the 1894 in .357 Magnum for $615. I'm sure those days are over.
I have never been a big Malin fan, so this is going to be a hard sell for me. Savage dropped the 99 because it was too expensive to make. I am wondering if Ruger will end up doing the same. I hate to see classic designs make way for plastic stocked, mass produced firearms but that seems to be the times we live in.
