for anyone wondering im pretty sure a lot of the references are from the "animators survival kit" book which i highly recommend since it teaches you the basics of animation and it lets you reuse or take inspiration from the book to help study movement
Oooo, tip for the first one, make the arc more curved, if you look at it the string looks like its shrinking as it swings, but if you use a more curvy curve you can make the string distance constant, making it look more consistant
I normally don't like stuff on UA-cam, and you're one of the really rare times where I'm immediately inclined to like the video so I can use this for my own studies!! Good luck on your animation journey, I'm slowly getting into it myself! (Also Okkotsu mentioned 👀)
One and most important skill in hand drawing animation is... FORM CONSISTENCY Thats the hardest skill of animation, combining and requiring all basic drawing skills in one(perspective, foreshortening, PROPORTIONS CONSISTENCY)

You do not know how much this video means to me. I've been wanting to learn hownto animate, but I didn't know where or how to start. So, I gave up my dream, until I found this video. Thank you so much for uploading it!!
Hey, nice animations, you are really good, actually really skilled. Would like to be as good as you man. Btw thank you for the playlists, pretty much know half of the ppl you added there, but there are others I know nothing about'em. 2 Questions: Program you use to animate Books / Other material to learn animation you recommend or have used (YT Channels, animators, IG Pages, Twitter Accounts, anything counts)
Really appreciate reading that especially considering I don't have that much experience animating and thank you ! I forgot to mention in the description that I changed programs, I used to be on Adobe animate and I switched to clip studio paint. Also for the other references I could recommend I can add some later on in the description or a community post but one book I ALWAYS recommend is The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams it's helped me out sooo much
@@dohshii Thanks a lot man, I've heard a lot about that one to anyone I've asked, so I try to get it asap. For the bibliography, yeah, I'll look forward to read it on the desc or a community post whether you decide to put it in such or such a way.
@@dohshii it’s never to early, I went straight to yutapon cubes. I’ve been working on them for about a day and a half, and I can already make a pretty rough version.
this is actually so cool!! It's 3 am for me but I found myself tryna analyze and learn how you animate, especially on the Yuta one! I believe you animated on 24 frames per second? And was so interested in seeing that the face moved in 4s, the jacket in 3s, and the hair in 2s... This here is underrated stuff for sure. Hope you get more views, man :DDD
If you're a beginner this is literally so awesome, if somebody showed me that karate animation and told me it was made by a professional I wouldn't doubt it, keep it up :D
Thats super impressive! Ngl even though I studied animation in school, i still DK how to use the timing chart. At this point I stopped animating with the time chart;;
@yeorelz yeah I didn't get it neither at first but I personally started understanding it by solely focusing on key animation and following tutorials. But one book that made me understand it the most was The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams, there's a pdf of the entire book and I really recommend checking it out
I learned on the job ten years ago using Macromedia Flash 8, but not too thorough. Kinda skipped the basics but still got the gist. Idk if I can operate other later softwares better than when I animate in MF8 though. Seeing you try it from step one reminds me how easier it was for me back then.
I actually used to draw with my finger for a bit and made my very first animation on my phone and i've seen a lot of people making some insane animations on their phone by just brute forcing themselves to learn and adapt. I don't think your limited resources should stop you, just try it !
@ashtheinnovator954 sorry I can't because I'm still in the process of learning myself and I don't wanna end up giving ppl bad advice or make them develop bad habits and such so I can't help you in that regard, my bad. I'd recommend you rather check out my playlist in the description where I picked up almost everything I've learnt to begin with and I recommend The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams which is an excellent book you can download in the internet archive.
