It seems like magic, but these last few days I have been starting to get serious about studying the basics of drawing and this will serve me well as a general guide, thanks blue!
Anatomy is very fundamental if your goal is to learn about forms and perspective. But in my opinion, the gestual is just as valid and I dare to say it's more practical to first learn about the fluidy and silhouette of the object, body and etc, then limit yourself with the rough forms. Just a simple tip for y'all :)
I think you've got it backwards, while there is no "wrong" way to study things - knowing perspective and proportions first are absolutely fundamental and having a good understanding of that first would make learning the nitty gritty aspect of anatomy and the other fundamentals alot more flexible Methinks people prioritize anatomy too much when these two things are really the things that carry the fundamentals, alongside gesture and structure too! Because if you weren't to learn these, how would you move those body parts in an environment and in a way that also feels smooth and not extremely stiff?
BROOO I WAS LIKE “Idk what to do i feel like it’s just the same quality as the last one and I wanna start studying more…” LIKE, TODAY. THEN LATER ON I GET THIS NOTIF. HEEEELLLLPPPPPPP.
This came at the perfect moment I've just been hating my art Midway through 2023-24 and just didn't draw at all this summer. I'll use this when school starts up to get back into art so thank you Blue. 😊
i've had a really bad art block these last few months and decided to go back to practice the basics because I know I need to improve. THEN THIS LITERALLY SHOWS UP LIKE???? THANK YOU BLUE I REALLY NEEEDED THIS
What a lovely video❤ I've been a bit soft stuck in my art growth not knowing where to grow and what to focus first, this is a huuuge help! thank you for the great video! 👋🏻 ✨
This is such perfect timing. I've gone through an art block for nearly 3 weeks and this video came right when I wanted to get back into drawing. Tysm!!
Good video, is a nice introduction to the most important fundamentals, i would just say (7:13) that saturation can be better defined as how pure a color is, the less pure it is, the closer is to be gray
Thanks for talking about studying different artists/art from media. There are a lot of artists and art in media that have styles that make me go: "I want to draw like that" yet I haven't tried to sit down and figure out how exactly they do it yet.
I just need you to know watching your tips have given me so much confidence.. have I improved, probably not.. BUT IM TRYING ATLEAST AND THATS WHAT COUNTS!
this is actually crazy because i stopped drawing like 2 years ago, i can still draw well just not consistently, and I really wanna start again so tysm!!
woah this is such a well structured video. ive always drawn a lot since i was little and i don think im terrible at it but like i never really knew what i was doing and how to make art intentional. i never really learned these fundamentals besides learning them implicitly the more i drew, but i think i know where to start taking my art onto the next level now. thanks :D
Blue this is random but you ALWAYS have the PERFECT videos for everything. Everyone always says study art but I’ve always wanted someone to do a video on what I’m meant to study in the first place. I’ve thought that for years but especially the past few weeks, and then you upload this? You’re Psychich 😭 and all your other videos are exactly what I needed too! Easily one of, if not my favorite art UA-camrs!
How on earth could you sense I'm 2 months into art block, hating my art and wishing i knew how to start studying more. The timing is impeccable dude, tysm!!!
This is great stuff!! Been doing art a long time, but I’ve recently circled back around to studying the basics again. Already it’s had such a positive effect on my art, and I’ve really only started with form and perspective. So much to learn!!! :)
I made an entire page with notes on your video about form!! Thank you so much for this video, I've been stuck in an art rut for a while, I'll try to come back to it now!
Hi BlueBiscuit you simple video and your channel plus the content has been very helpful to learn how to be a better artist and improve upon solving critical issues in my drawing learning experience. Thank you for you adorable simple and soft voice you have…. So calming warming and cherish type of feeling. 🥰 I pray to see more beautiful content from you of how to be a better artist from you channel. You are my favorite ❤️. See ya
I've been feeling like my art is becoming inconsistent yet theres not really any improvement, so this helps! I used the perspective boxes and drew them.. messed up the first time but I like my second attempt! Some of them are different sizes though so I gotta work on being consistent.
This 2024 it has been wild in drawing for me. I am exploring and experimenting A LOT. Right now i am looking at an online course about character design, expressions and anatomy this was like a WILD change my improvement went so high :D
I really recommend the book Color and Light by James Gurney for both beginner and intermediate artists!! It touches on a lot of different techniques (and some other fundamentals) and choices that i never would’ve thought of myself, and i could see improvement in my colours and composition choices pretty quickly. (It is marketed as for realist painters but even so, all art styles are of course inspired by real life, so it still could help you in other ways even if you don’t paint realism, like me.)
@@derpiedoxie I tested it on another phone, and everything was fine, but when I updated the youtube app, the glitch worked. So the latest update broke something.
It seems like magic, but these last few days I have been starting to get serious about studying the basics of drawing and this will serve me well as a general guide, thanks blue!
Drawing and magic aren't that different when you think about, both trick the brain into seeing something that's not actually there
Real when you study your fundamentals then go back to drawing like what you want to draw it feels like you ascended
