I worked at Las Campanas, the Mexican restaurant you went to at the Mission Inn over 15 years ago when I was in college! The Inn is such a special place and it was fun to explore all the nooks and crannies when I worked there. They even have underground tunnels and “catacombs” where there was so much old stuff stored. Every US president has stayed there and lots of old movie stars eloped there too! So much interesting history, definitely worth a visit.

So nice to my little town get some love! It's hard to believe that in the late 80's the Mission Inn was boarded up and was going to be demolished! You should really come at Christmas if you love vintage Christmas decor, it's beautiful!

Gosh, I thought I'd seen almost everything til you showed the hanging ashtrays! I would hang them in a corner as an art installation. Fantastic.

The Mission Inn was stunning against the concrete jungle in the background! Quite a contrast! Yes,the Antique Nomad is a walking encyclopedia....I've learned a lot from him as well! 👍💗

Oh my good goodness a Mr Max piece!!! I was so lucky to have had him as a ceramics teacher at Ramona Convent school! I remember all the little critters he would make. He was such a light in this world.
This is amazing that you visited our beautiful city of Riverside, CA! If you loved the trees lit up with lights imagine it now with the millions of Chris lights surrounding the Mission Inn!!! We visit the 3 story antique shop to get their hot chocolate and tamales during the holiday season.

The painting is such a great find! I really enjoyed this one.
I do tapestry and can tell you that aside from the hundreds of unpaid hours it takes to do hand embroidery, the cost of the yarns is probably four times the cost of the cushions. Now the impressive part, the needle pointer did two identical pieces. I would never have the patience to repeat the pattern so to you Laura, congratulations on a great purchase. The sewer will be so glad they are in a good home.

Hope you give the metal fireplace a second thought. I had one back in the day and discovered they get so hot that you can get bad burns from them if you inadvertently touch them. Seriously, it's a thing. Be careful.

Omg! I kept a magazine House Beautiful since like 2014 cause of an article about Justine’s La home it was in a small spaces issue. I just looked in my rv where I vowed to NEVER throw it away… it was gone! So upset. She had a green backsplash in kitchen. When I saw your style I followed you cause I LOVED your “jungalow boho vibe ”with the Plants etc.

Laura you have to visit the Mission Inn during Christmas. They do a wonderful job decorating it. Love that place. I live about 45 minutes from Riverside. And 15 from Claremont.
I am so glad you bought those cushions ! I know I am out of touch with prices these days, but I was recently taken aback by the cost of made in China pillows on Wayfair! Those needlepoint pillows seem so reasonable in comparison.

I lived in Riverside for 35 years. My husband went to hs with the owner. Next trip check out Sunnyside Drive and my favorite store.

I was fortunate enough to stay at the Mission Inn two times, the second time I cried when it was time to leave because it was so beautiful there and I did not want to leave.

Love the lava lamps. Worked in housewares at local hardware store during Christmas when I was in high school and college. Had original lava lamps so fun to turn on in morning and watch as day went by.

Wow - what a trip! Saw so many unique pieces, from jewelry to furniture. Liked the wooden switchplate cover at 7:13 - have not seen any before this. I thought some of the booths would benefit from a "Laura styling" - you have such a magical way of displaying your pieces/finds when you get them home. The owl squash blossom set caught my eye 13:25, then I spied the matching ring in the tray of rings, too - cute! "...create your own individual style, one piece at a time." Like these words.
I have the same identical French butter crock. I received it as a gift from my daughter for Christmas. She works at Retrospect Vintage in Philadelphia and found it there. Love your channel watch it all the time❣️
Hey Laura...for the foodie you, next time make sure to stop in and tour the Graber Olive.House in Ontario. Delicious olives canned on-site on vintage packing equipment. They were founded in 1894 and there is quite the history to the location including "The Creeper" legend which has been featured on the Travel Channel Ghost Adventures. An underrated must see in the area in my opinion.

Lol...born in 1950, I was raised with most of this mid century vintage 😂 lived in corona for 19 years and my son did his undergrad at UCR... that campus and botanical gardens are worth a look and there is also a wonderful photography museum on university ave...♥️♥️

Hi Laura! You could buy the two pendant light fixtures and add them in between the three you already have. And add a separate switch so you can adjust lighting as you fell fit.

Back in the early 90's I worked at City Hall in Riverside and would walk up Main street to a cute little vintage/antique shop at lunch and just browse around. Can't help but wonder if it's still there or maybe even expanded and could be one of those shops you went to... 🤔 I enjoyed tagging along virtually through this video.
Mission Inn just love it, stayed there twice luckily because there is so much to see and discover in the hotel. you literally get lost exploring hidden doors and stairways! When you are in Europe, don't forget if you have an extra day or so, come to Provence, I can show you fun Brocantes on Saturday/Sunday :-)

Bay Area have great Salvation Army and Goodwill stores. Also we have American Cancer Society Stores that are really amazing. I work in San Francisco so I go to many thrift stores that is fantastic
