The blue bowls are iron mountain pottery. The pattern that you picked up is called blue ridge. They are made in Tennessee. I have a whole set in brown. Great find!
Thank you so much!! That’s the one 😄 I’ll have to share that with everyone in an updates video! 💙💙💙 Happy New Year!
You’re very welcome! Love your videos. Happy New Year to y’all, too!
Love watching Jesse with you! Sweet jingle, then the gnomes smell like 60 years of smoke so they want to return
@@leftcoastrevivals crusty gnomes even 😅
The gnomes had to go with the fireplace. It was one thing finding the fireplace, but then to see the logs and the creepy gnomes from a Gnomes Christmas Carol...😢😅❤
You struck gold in your husband. He's too sweet. Together forever.
Yes, I agree. Where did she find him?
I borrowed an overhead projector and painted a Seseme Street mural on my son’s bedroom wall. We sold the house and we offered to paint over the mural and they OH NO, don’t do that! We love it. Their daughter was a teen and never thought a teen would like it.
I used to manage a 9,000 sq ft 501c3 thrift store. It was the best 9 years of my work life.
I love to thrift and remake things into eclectic jewelry.
I LOVE watching your videos.
God bless you both and my fellow viewers.... Happy 2024
Back in the 60's & 70's, my parents used their Samsonite card table every thanksgiving for us 'kiddies' to sit at.
Business opportunity: Rent Jesse out by the hour to shop with people whose significant other hates to shop with them. He's got a good eye and loves shopping.
You two are great together. ❤
i am in Eugene, and I think that is a great idea ;-)
Love that Jesse is as happy in thrift stores as you are and as up for the hunt.
Definitely a keeper.
I can't believe you don't know the Lilli Ann brand! Her beautiful coats sell for big bux and her garments are generally very good sellers. And so are vintage overhead projectors. Also...Pendleton is an Oregon-based company so I always find a ton of Pendleton items when I thrift in Oregon. I love their 1950s jackets and sweaters...sigh. Re: Bob Mackie, I just realized the other day that he designed all the fabulous costumes for the old Carol Burnett show!
He designed for Cher. They were very good friends. I own a sweater by him!!.
Laura, I just had to pause your video and comment about the wool skirts. What an incredible selection! I lived in Portland in the early 80s( in my early 20s) and I got a number of Irish wool plaid skirts at goodwill, salvation army. Wore them with vintage cashmere twin sets of my Mom's and other vintage 40s and 50s sweaters. I topped them with a green leather car coat, buttery soft, an a wool beret. While everyone else dressed like Boy George or Madonna, I went vintage. Also thrifted 4 different Gunne Sax dresses. Wish I still had them for my 20 yr old daughter. I love arm chair shopping with you! Jesse too...
You were the Molly Ringwald, Pretty in Pink, of the 80s❤.
dmel, I still have my senior prom gunne sax dress. Everyone else went glamor girl, and I did my own thing. I last put it on sometime in the 80's, but couldn't zip it up in the back.
The insulators, we rented a fire look out for a few days. It was in the air about 5 stories up on top of a cliff. Had a piece of machinery, that helped the forest ranger watch out for smoke. A ranger stopped by to check out the living area ( 20 x20) feet. We were the last renters then it was closed for fire watch. Inside was a bench about 3 feet wide and about 4 feet long. On the feet on the bottom were these insulators covering the wood. He told us that during lightning storms the ranger could and did sit on this with-their feet up and if the lookout was hit they weren’t hurt.
Lilli Ann is one of the best vintage labels to find - there’s a lot of collectors! Though the skirt looks 70s, it’s probably 1940s or 1950s
Laura, there is no doubt in my mind of you not being able to stage Jessie’s sentimental “indoor” gnomes. You’ll make it work like you do with everything else! I once asked a married coworker what’s her secret or advise for a long marriage...she replied, “...compromise, compromise, and COMPROMISE!!!” 😂🤣 You two are a great team that share a passion together, what a blessing!
Yay! A new Laura video! Laura, you’ve helped me so much in identifying beautiful, vintage pieces at thrift stores, and in redecorating my living room. I’ve evolved from the happy yellow I needed on the walls after my husband passed away, to beautiful, sophisticated blues, grays and browns that showcase the “me” I’ve become. Thank you!
It’s so special how we evolve our style with the changes we go through in life 💙💚 Grateful you’re a part of this wonderful community on here!
How lucky are you to have a hubby to thrift with you❤❤❤
I think the wool skirt if from the 60's. My mother had a whole wardrobe of those and they had to be drycleaned and it would cost 5 cents a pleat to have them repressed and she would take them once a year to have them done before going into storage for the year.
This was a fun video with your husband interacting more! It must be great that he likes thifting with you. Happy New Year!!.🎉
Agreed! Nice seeing a video with you two interacting & shopping together ❤ it was cute and informative and fun to watch!! 🎉
Iron Mountain Stoneware made in Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee. It is in Johnson County East Tennessee. It is no longer in business and we use to go every Thanksgiving weekend as they would have a big sale on their pottery. Your pattern is Blue Ridge. That is a big WOW finding in Oregon. Happy New Year, love you guys.
Your husband is funny! I like when you opened the ceramic tortilla holder and you saw the inside was blue. You said, "I wasn't expecting to see blue." He said, "I like to surprise you." Also, I love the big roll of wrapping paper you found in the antique store's basement and the gnomes and fireplace upstairs. Although your husband doesn't see your vision for a gnome house outside, I think it would be really cute. Do you have "little free libraries" in Oregon? You could make a house like that with plexi- glass doors or windows that would protect the gnomes. Gnome saying? Oh, I almost forgot. I love your wedding photos with the old convertible. Very cute!
Hey Laura!! You inspired me to look at rugs at my local thrift store and I found one for $95 (brand new!) that retails for $1300 🤓 just had to share. Love your channel!
The way you manifested this day. This man gnomes what he is talking about
Hubby and I had a 1959 Sunbeam. That was in 1973. The top, when it was up, leaked when it rained. Of course on my side. So I used and umbrella in it till we got it fixed, lol Love watching your thrift finds.
You have such good prices, our Goodwills think they are an antique shop, the prices are outragious. Love the fireplace!!!
Ah, those shorts! My "going out" (clubbing) outfit circa 1991 was plaid shorts, black tights and shoes, black velvet oversized blazer with big brooches on the lapels, and a black furry hat. I'd actually wear that again in a heartbeat. I just need the shorts.
Sometimes I buy a long dress or skirt to cover my pillows etc.❤
‘Those can’t go outside?!’
😂 I literally laughed out loud 😂
The fireplace was made for the gnomes!! Perfect placement and such a sweet memory for your husband.
Laura trying to rehouse the gnomes 😂😂😂 and the super thrift jingle are my favorite ❤❤❤
😂 I had to try 🏡
".....that was 15 coffee tables ago"! - THAT'S FUNNY!!
My smile the whole time you two thrift together ❤
I thinnk Laura's idea of a little Gnome Home in the forest is a really good one! Barring that, maybe you could flank the fireplace with plants and have the gnomes peeking out from an indoor "forest"!
Oh fun fun video memories of my husband and I searching for treasures for our first house many years ago. ❤
I really enjoy watching you & Jesse shopping together, so much fun 😊❤
I love watching you two together. You all are so sweet. Keep having a fun fill HUNT. THATS WHAT I CALL THRIFING..JOHN 3:16:17
Omg!!! The wrapping paper! I would have bought it all.
Jesse is so sweet ! Y'all are precious together!
your hubby is dreamy! But I like you more! LOL Keep up the great work! Y'all's house is unbelievable too! I;m a 63 yr old woman that loves me some MCM!
My mother who is 99 now and in Assisted Living in Mill Creek, WA had several Samsonnite Fold-up Card Tables. They are great for pop up tables for extra guests or my mom used to host Canasta card games and she would rotate games at other friends’ homes. Perfect for camping trips too! So sturdy. Samsonnite didn’t just make luggage but I grew up in 1970’s with their luggage too.
In the mid to late 60s, when I was in high school, those short, pleated, wool skirts & shorts were in style. We wore them with knee socks & penny loafers.
Great fireplace!!! I'm writing myself a note to get over to my parents house and grab the 1960's 12" ceramic 7 dwarfs she (my mom), has out in the pool shed waiting for Summer; got to bring those guys in from the cold; LOL!!!!!
Awesome hearing the Super Thrift jingle again!!!
Had to rewind and listen again!
Hubby’s grands were saying “Hi” at the antique shop! Love signs!!! So cool
🥹❤️
Love the fireplace!❤Jessie is so fun!😊
Me too! 🎉 We found a similar one with a cabinet built in on each side on the side of the road in our neighborhood with a FREE sign on it!! My partner and I were walking our dogs and we thought JACKPOT! Too heavy to carry home so my partner brought back the car and since I’m disabled she had to lift it in the trunk herself which was hilarious to watch and it stuck halfway out. I was so nervous on our short drive back home and SO happy it didn’t fall out lol
@createbeautifulyou What a great story!
I think those gnomes must have been the inspiration for the animation of the gnomes in the movie 'Gnomeo and Juliet'. 😅😂😊
"Bathrobe vibes but in a GOOD way!" Lol, I love it!
The gnomes conversations 😂😂😂
Damn Gnomes are hilarious and when Jesse talks about them his eyes light up stinking cute
HAPPY NEW YEAR YOU GUYS!
Happy New Year!! 🥳 ❤️
Jesse has the spirit of a Scandinavian, regarding the garden gnomes !
To us (Scandinavians), they represent the ancestral entity wich protects your home.
A pair means double protection and luck...
Do keep them Laura !
🧚♂️🧙♀️🧚♀️🧙🧚🧙♂️
Love from Norway 😘🇸🇯
@@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131I never knew that about the gnomes. I recently bought one for my mom, and I think I need to get her a second one for good luck and double protection. Thank you for sharing. ☺️🧙♂️🧚♀️
Greetings, Laura and Jesse. We so enjoy watching you two on your excursions together. You are a great team.
I've never seen a Goodwill that looked as good as this one. I'm amazed
Oh, the Pendleton envy! I used to LOVE wool shorts! I actually have the Maple Leaf tartan ones.❤️
just stumbled across your video.....really enjoyed the vibe of the 2 of you bouncing off of each other in the thrift stores - going to have to binge watch your other videos now. Hey from Australia.
This video made me smile! You’re such a cute couple! Great thrifting!!
Nice fireplace...looks good
After watching you, I have learned to appreciate pieces and look at items that wouldn’t not normally catch my eye. 😊
I'm a first time watcher. Loved your fun video. I'll be back.
BTW, your fireplace is perfect!!
Happy 2024.
Welcome! Happy new year!
You two cracked me up tonite….”guaranteed to start a real fire!”….so funny!! And the weird coincidences…the gnomes and electric logs! But I agree….that fireplace is RAD! And Jessie’s indoor gnomes look pretty good sitting on it! Thanks for the laughs and Happy New Year!💕
The last time I went to the Oregon City thrift store, I didn't find anything. I giggled, Laura Caldwell must of been here lol.😊
Those vintage plated skirts do GREAT for me in the Chicagoland area! Love everything - TFS!❤
Back in the early 70s we wore those plaid shorts with tights and loafers and a fitted sweater. Love love that style.
That sounds so cute!! Love that style.
I love that look!!
Monogram on that sweater, too!😉
my grandparents had that fireplace all my life.
Oh that Pendleton!! I could not have left a single piece there!! It’s just the most beautiful wool ever!! 🥰😍♥️
This is my favorite video you've done yet, I love seeing Jesse more involved and how you interact. Happy New Year from Lincoln City!!!
that fireplace looks AWESOME
I think yoiu could absolutely sell the shorts in NY! With tights, they look awesome! They look great with a turtleneck and a blazer! LOVE the Bob Mackie. I knew that was Mackie the second I saw it. I have several of his shirts. So much fun!
I love your husbands song❤ The wrapping paper with the horses, your husband like nooooo😂 I love y’all’s chemistry. Keep it coming 🎉
The fireplace you bought reminded me of the one in my parents home growing up. It was a real one, though this was truly a fun video, I really enjoy it when you and Jesse thrift together.
My dad was a lineman in 60’s and would bring home boxes of insulators all colors. My grandmother had a hanging lamp made from broken up insulators. It was so pretty. Not sure what happened to that lamp.
Great video! How fun. Happy New Year!!
It’s hilarious watching you guys talk about the overhead projector. It feels like yesterday that we were using those
Yes! You knew it was going to be a carefree class when they wheeled that thing in😂
OMG this was such a GREAT FORMAT! I loved it! Bravo! More please!
really enjoyed watching your New Years's thrifting...., watching this in Iowa...we just had our first big snowfall, I subscribed so will keep watching,
That fireplace is awesome!!!! Good score!
Another great video. I love seeing what vintage/antiques are available and in shops over in the US. Seems to be more mid-century that I can make out.
Happy New Year Laura and Jessie. Great video as always.
The wool skirts and shorts - I'm in the UK - I was wearing those late 1970's and through the 80's. The plaid skirts were a joy in the Winter - so warm when travelling to work (I worked in banking). We wore with pure lambswool or cashmere jumpers or silk shirts/wool tank top. Flat loafers. It was I think called a "preppy look".
Like another poster has said, I would wear those clothes again in a heartbeat. So we'll made, lasted to. Only pain was everything had to be dry cleaned. Was worth it.
Wishing viewers a healthy and peaceful 2024, from West Wales UK 🇬🇧 🏴
A tree bookshelf for the gnomes. It's a tree, it can be a house, and extra storage. 🤩 Great show!
Put a new cord on the fireplace. Easy to do.
Awww how sentimental Jesse is.
I have a sister that is scared of gnomes and one night my brother and I staged her front yard with a gnome convention..gnomes everywhere. She stayed in a hotel for a weekend freaked out! Good memories lol
The blue hobnaill salt may glow...And your husband is a superb shopping partner: "Buy it!" on the excellent vintage clothes. Love the fireplace! ( but why is one side wider?) The gnome dialog was hilarious!
I once used an over head projector to make a stencil of the scooby doo mystery machine that we used to paint a friends van!
The gnomes complete the fireplace....Happy New Year ❤❤ Adelaide Australia
I love the fireplace
I swear its the same one that I had in my antique shop a few years back. Its identical. I loved decorating with it. Enjoyed your video so much. Your happiness is so infectious. Happy New Year to both of you🎉
A brand new GW, it is really nice. 🎉
LOVE the Gnomes Jessie! Thanks for making us laugh!
Thanks for letting me tag along with you two. I'm new here, but I feel like I've been here for awhile. You're both so warm and welcoming that you make it easy to take a seat on the sofa and hang out and see what you've been up to. Happy 2024, To You, & Yours!
The clothes fall off the hanger more easily when the rails are over full..... Soooo..... Loved your recent euro tour. Cannot wait for more, I am panting for more! Happy New Year!!
I'm probably 20 years older than Jesse but it seems like we lived parallel lives. I totally remember the teachers using the overhead projector with transparencies in elementary school. That fake fireplace and THOSE GNOMES! They were the rage in my small town
It's fun when you include your husband 😊
The fireplace looks nice. Great find!!
Oh my gosh, I had that blue pleated skirt, and I loved it so much!
That couch sectionalIS SOOO bomb!!!
The gnomes must live by the fireplace.
Your husband seems like a super sweet guy. When you thrift together, it’s more about finding goofy stuff vs cool vintage finds.
I loved all the vintage clothes.
That green afghan! 💚
Happy New Year to you both. I wish there were shops like Goodwill here in Ireland 🇮🇪, our charity shops are much smaller x
Love the gnomes and fireplace. So sweet how your husband has fond memories of his grandparents ❤. Happy New Years!!! Thank you for great videos and content.
Absolutely loved this thrift outing with you and Jesse, Laura ❤ Your finds were amazing. Thrilled that you did some clothes shopping too, extra special treat 😊 Thank you for sharing.
I love that Jesse comes with you and shares your passion. It’s just too sweet!!
You two are so cute together and thanks for sharing
I just have to say that when you and Jesse shop together, it’s an event in and of itself. The gnomes and the fire log! Epic.
Keep doing you ❤
I’m so glad you enjoy hanging out with us! We get goofy when we thrift together 😂
Home for the Gnomes ~ brilliant 😹
