Little tip for distressing fabric, I've seen the folks on the Wicked Makers channel use a wire brush (like the kind you would clean a grill with). It always looks really good in the end.
When I was in school we did fabric distressing (I was a theatre production major lol) and our favourite things to use were cheese graters and wire brushes to get the holes in the fabric looking worn enough and then we'd go in with super heavy grit sandpaper and just attack it lol cover it in dirt, paint and bleach and you've got one weathered garment lol looks amazing Rachel! You did an amazing job as always!
I’m so proud to bear witness to your tailor/seamstress/person journey. You dive into these projects now with zero fear, and it’s really heartening to see! 😊
Hello Ms. Maksy. My wife & I love your content. Been meaning to leave a comment but for whatever reason but hadn't. Seeing this particular video....Halloween!!! We're both haunters & love distressing & weathering costumes, sets & props. One thing we use for costume distressing is "The Shredder". A multi-bit hole saw where we glue all the sizes into one hand held beast. We use a solid board, lay the garment on the board & go to town with the shredder. Another real good tool is a belt sander (table top not a hand held). Keep up the great work and stay Spooky.
Appa!! I have a stuffed Appa next to me right now. Oh and Doug actually put live moths in his mouth for the scene where he cut his mouth open. That’s dedication man.
After chopping into it with some scissors you can also use an old pillow case, or something similar and put your garment inside with some different sized rocks, and 'toss' it around a bit for some wear and tear. For future reference
The best get ya in the mood for Halloween out there. Rachel you rock and it’s nice to see you so happy because Fall and Halloween are here ❤ INCREDIBLE JOB!

Even got chills when she pulled out ye old sketchbook w a quill pen..gave me Bernadette vibes❣️
Hello Ms.
Rachel is literally reading my mind with the silly music references
🎵Billy's got back🎵
After chopping into it with some scissors you can also use an old pillow case, or something similar and put your garment inside with some different sized rocks, and 'toss' it around a bit for some wear and tear. For future reference
omfg ive just been listening to and watching thriller, thinking about the undead and waiting for your video to drop, and then you deliver lady billy!😍
I'm a fairly new subscriber. I was going back and watching old videos and came upon this one. It is by far my favorite project. You did a great job!

This project instantly became one of my top favorites! Perfection!
Edit: Forgot to say thanks for the Frodo pig toy clip. Very important!
This is exactly how we weather costumes in my costume department at school!
Good good weathering, plus even better cinematography on the reveal! It's just *chef's kiss* so fun, so good
Wow, the cheekbones shading is super effective, the reveal looked absolutely amazing!!
I already know this content is going to be priceless!
Is it just me who wants a clothing list at the end of every one of Rachel’s videos? Where did you find that cardi with the toadstools aaaaaaah
It’s breathtaking 👌
The best get ya in the mood for Halloween out there. Rachel you rock and it’s nice to see you so happy because Fall and Halloween are here ❤ INCREDIBLE JOB!
Brilliant work! So fabulous, great effects on the fabric.
This whole look came together so stunningly.
Rachel, you must do a Snow White outfit, it would suit your new haircut so much!!!
But Zombie Snow White or 1930s Snow White. Oooo possibilities!!!😁🎃🎃
Absolutely love this costume. I like your hair!
Legitimately one of the best Maksoween projects you’ve ever done! It looks SPOT ON for Billy. I’m so impressed. Also we have all the same styrofoam tombstones from Spirit. 😂
Love the short hair Rachel vibe! Our dearest spooky queen!
This has got to be one of my favorite videos on this channel!
Wow, I just noticed you've passed a million! Congrats, Rachel! I've been here for a good few years now and am always amused by what you do. Love this version of Billy. 💕
Hi Rachel! I think this is my first time 'catching' you posting XD Here in Italy is 1am (the beauty of being an insomniac). Cheers!
Haha same, greetings from Germany 👋🏼
Holy cow, you look freaking AMAZING! Great work, as always! 😍😍😍
This was literally the best thing ever!!! Ohhhhh, Billy!! So freakin' good!!!🎃
Love the outfit. And great ideas for ageing fabrics. Looking forward to seeing Hocus Pocus 2. Thanks for sharing.
To make it look like she just got out of a grave I was fully expecting her to just rub all the fabric in dirt or mud outside
Ps the applying makeup part gave me such Jenna marbles vibes and I loved it 💛
Man the costume turned out so amazing but the makeup is really impressive! ❤
I Love your channel so much can’t wait to see more Halloween ideas in the future (no pressure though 😅) ❤
I looooove it! This ended up being such a vibe
deeply enjoying the confidence Rachel is exuding in this video
"who's a nasty girl?"
"ME"
I have ascended. I would have made this into a gif set and posted it on tumblr in the good ol days 😂
When she came on screen to introduce what today's video was about my 4 year old yelled "Mirabelle!" 😁
Yasss, I've been waiting for this video! Thank you 💕
Awesome! How very creative to use butterflies! I never would have thought of it. It’s truly a great costume!
So much fun! Always reminded how talented Rachel is with these videos in so many different ways! She has worked so hard to develop so many different abilities!
