- Stone Cold Steve Austin's final WWF / WWE run started when Austin would lose the WWF title to Chris Jericho at Vengeance 2001. Since then Austin became frustrated with the WWE, refusing to wrestle Hulk Hogan in a match at Wrestlemania X-8, and resulting in no-shows. Although Austin returned two weeks later, his frustrations grew and he was pushed further away from the spotlight leading to his quitting the company when he refused to put over Brock Lesnar on free TV.
Austin would return to face the Rock at Wrestlemania XIX as his final match in that era. What a waste of Austin's final run, which could've been booked much better for a talent who is probably the biggest star in WWE history. While we would love to have seen Austin pull an audible at Wrestlemania 17 and stun Vince McMahon, this alternate booking takes place shortly after Survivor Series 2001. Be warned, it's heavily Austin centric!
