1- Be careful with acid and base materials and wear gloves when dealing with them. 2- Handle carefully during inter-or intra laboratory transport to prevent breakage. 3- A pH meter needs to be calibrated daily with the help of standard buffer solutions. Maintenance : 1- Store sensors at ambient temperature 2- The electrode should always be stored in an appropriate solution( KCL solution) 3- If you have a problem, tell the authorized person. Cleaning of the pH meter itself: 1- The outside case of the pH meter should be cleaned using detergent or disinfectant (e.g. 70% ethanol) if required. 2- The area around the pH meter should be kept clean and any spills of samples or reagents cleaned up immediately. 3 - Any build up of salts on the top of the electrode near the filling well (if applicable) should be cleaned using water. 4 - All wires and contacts should be cleaned to avoid corrosion 5 - After the cleaning stage, rinse the electrode in distilled water and replace the internal filling solution (KCl) if appropriate. Monitor the temperature daily as per following procedure. 5.2.5 Temperature shall be recorded which is displayed on LCD of the controller of the incubator. 5.2.6 Observe the temperature shown on the digital display.

Hello, this is a nice video for introducing new students to a pH measure routine! Congratulations! I need to measure the pH of a sample that (I expect) has a pH
Is this the same PH meter device and technique used in QC departments of pharmaceutical companies? I am applying for a QC position and want to get familiar with some lab tests such as pH meter, viscometer, FTIR, HPLC and GC. Please advice!
This is the question for my assignment: if you had the choice between a 1-litre beaker and a 1 litre graduated cylinder, which one should you use to measure volumes with maximal precision when making 1 litre of PBS? I am actually not sure how to answer it.
If I'm preparing a buffer and need to adjust the pH, can I just stick the pH meter into my buffer to check the pH? Or should I pour a little bit of my buffer into a beaker and test it there to avoid contamination?
as soon as the "A" on the screen has a division symbol on it (as seen at 1:49), that means that it has been calibrated for that particular standard. you can then move on to the next standard. after all the standards have been used and calibrated, it will show a screen that should have a slope. if your lab is okay with the number on the screen, you press "save." the meter is then ready to go.
@@karenl4928 thank you and that is for calibration. Do you look for the same symbol when you checking the pH of sample? My question was more about when to take the correct reading of the pH of a sample as it seems never to remain stable for some pH meters. Although the changes of the pH values occurs from fast to slow, it sometimes never stops. Other times it goes up and reverses at certain pH values and that is when I take the reading but on other occasions these changes take one direction but slowly. So my question is how long do you take to record a particular pH reading when it seems to stop changing? Thank you.
If that is a SevenEasy ph meter can you tell me which slope to use as the calibration slope. When doing a 3 point calibration it gives a slope from each calibration point, is the final slope read after all three calibrations and then when you check the calibration in the 7 buffer?

Wow that's a really helpful mate

Many thanks but if you publish a calibration video and explaining the control panel component will be a huge help.
this video was very useful for my exams
Very clear and easy to understand 👏👏👏

u r wrong
am correcting u
Well, I saw experts doing it in both ways. You can always gently remove the excess water so that it does not go to your standard or unknown solution.
i am an expert and i know
Mamoon Rashid no it doesn’t , as long as you just wipe the outside and not the inside of the probe.

I was trained to stirr the sample while the pH meter was measuring. Is it not necessary? And why? Thanks
How to calculate slope was not mentioned, not rinsed probe well
Hi, what amount of volume (minimum) would the pH meter be able to read?
If I'm preparing a buffer and need to adjust the pH, can I just stick the pH meter into my buffer to check the pH? Or should I pour a little bit of my buffer into a beaker and test it there to avoid contamination?
Buffers are pretty resistant to pH- changes so u should be fine by just checking it.
Are there any videos (or documents) showing how to fill the pH meter with filling solution?
Thanks!
Calibrate daily? I plan on only using it once a month.
I want to know in which solution is that electrode dipped to prevent it from drying out.
@@BioRadLaboratoriesCorp Thank you so much !!
Why you're using to 7-4-10 in buffer solutions
this is my first of many assignment to write on notebook
Hi
I need to learn frome the BOD test
merci
Very useful vedio. Thank youu👍👍
What is the logic and explanation behind rinsing the electrode before every use? Is that because not letting the electrode dry out?
Cross contamination, you don't want droplets of a ph4 solution in a ph10 solution when trying to calibrate
I require digital pH meter for blood bag pH measure ment. So please suggest
How long should a pH reading remain stable for you to consider it as the recorded pH value?

why temperature is important
Does anyone know a good ph pen that I can use that's reliable
how efficient is ph meter to ph litmus papers
Can it be used to read oil pH? Like automotive oil pH?
If so, can read it as it is? Or it requires to be Ia solution of ethyl alcohol or so?
Will the pH of the solution change if i will add 50% of distilled water into the buffer solution of pH 8
Thanks so much
We maked some tests on the laboratory and notices that a solution can be diluted up to 10 % with mili-Q grade water and the pH will no change.
Isnt distilled water acidic?
Mettler Toledo S20's the best pH meter ^ ^
Can you use ph meter to check plant extract ph ?
PH=-log[H+]
PoH=-log[oH-]
[H+][oH-]=1×10-¹⁴
[H+]=10-pH
[oH-]=10-poH
[H+]=[strong acid]×[liberated moles]
[oH-]=[strong base]×[liberated moles]
How many(USD dollar) cost pH meter?
Do you need pH meters?
