    I think that is a very good goal and you seem to have a very good and realistic view of your abilities. I'm sure it will go well. That looks like a convoluted run course where people are likely to go off course. Have a great race.

    I’m glad your doing your first Triathlon. I have followed you right from the beginning when you began training with a Triathlon as your aim. It was disappointing when you focused only on Cycling but I enjoyed it anyway. Good luck for tomorrow, can’t wait to see the follow up video.

      Thanks for the long time support! There's so many triathlon events in the UK it would be a shame for me not to enter a few!

    first gel right before water start, get the second gel into you with about 5 mins left on bike

    Good luck, Jarrod. My unsolicited advice would be to pay attention to how your stomach feels during the run. I've found gels can give me a bad stitch-like feeling when really pushing on a run. That's not uncommon when you add a bunch of carbs (this is why Maurten is now so popular). Personally I've found drinking my carbs and electrolytes along the ride to be helpful in prep for the run. Either way, you'll learn what to do or not to do for your 70.3.

      Good advice! I've been training with various gels and found that the sis ones don't bother my stomach too much. Also I'm probably going to take a gel before the run starts so hopefully it'll be able to be absorbed before running starts

    Good luck 🤞 I think you will hit your goals 💪. My only tip as a very amateur triathlete is don't get carried away on race day and go balls to the wall on the swim, it can really affect your bike and run and more than anything make the whole race a misery!

      My swimming technique is so bad, I feel like I can push 50% harder and gain only 2% speed, so I'll definitely be taking the swim easy!

    Even if you have to hold back on the Swim, you can do 10-20 seconds / 100m slower, you lose max 2 minutes, but will be a lot fresher rather than pushing.
    2 gels should be plenty, hit one directly after the swim, the gels will take 10-20 minutes to kick in though, so I'd suggest hitting that 2nd gel actually on the half way point, so it kicks in for the run. Similar to the swim, being a tiny bit slower but better recovered on the bike might lose you a minute or two tops...
    Run is what makes you lose 3+ minutes easily if you have to run/walk because you either cramp or are just done, especially with that 15m elevation kicker on that run which looks rather nasty.
    Best of luck, you'll smash this in 1:10 I'd say!

      I feel like with swimming I can push 50% harder and gain like 2% extra speed, so I'm definitely going to be taking it easy!
      I think 1:10h might be pushing it, but maybe if everything falls into place!

    The auto transition on the watch is terrible. Much better to do it manually. Good luck and have a great race 👌
