DAMN!!! YOU GOT VISITED BY THE TIGERSHARKS?
Squadron 222 - The Tigersharks - is the first squadron that got their Su-30MKI modified to carry the BrahMos-A supersonic anti-ship cruise missile. They are based out of AFS Thanjavur from where they can easily fly out to and engage warships at ANY CHOKEPOINT of the Indian Ocean (be it Hormuz, Bab-el-Mandeb, Malacca or Tsunda straits). This one squadron alone guards ALL the gates into the Indian Ocean. Any enemy warship trying to enter the Indian Ocean with hostile intent will get a red hot serving of multiple Mach 3 sea-skimming BrahMos-A missiles launched by the Tigersharks.
One time, the Tigersharks deployed to a forward airbase in Car Nicobar island. And just like that, during that deployment, that small Indian island was hosting one of the most powerful Air Forces of South East Asia (no competition aside from Singapore and maybe Indonesia). And this is all before the Tigersharks get the SuperSukhoi upgrade that Indian boffins have created.
