So I'm paying attention and I made it all the way to..... KH2 and then that whole game, nothing made sense. I feel like parts were intentionally being left out of this explanation video. Why does Namine not tell Roxas he's a Nobody? Why does Roxas even come out of Sora to fight him near the end? Why does Roxas even go back into Sora at the beginning? I know he is Sora's Nobody, but wtf? Does that mean Sora is nobody without Roxas? because he slept until Roxas went back into him. If this thing is explaining things in release order why does it allude to games after KH2, before its had a chance to explain them? How come Sora is ok after Roxas leaves again? Wtf is going on? and WHHYYY are these games so NEEDLESSLY convoluted. It really ruins what could be an awesome franchise, and the awesome game that started it all. Seriously I love the first KH but the rest of them are just complicated for the sake of being complicated. It should be a separate series. Its like making a Muppet movie where they're Muppets and then making a direct sequel where the Muppets are time traveling vampires who team up with Mole people and Stockbrokers to fight god. ....just why? I really dont find all of that confusing stuff interesting. And I love Final Fantasy stuff and man... I think the success of KH has kinda hurt the FF franchise by trying to make it more like KH... They're potentially gonna ruin the FF7 Remake everyone has been waiting over 20 years on based on the ending to the first part of FF7 Remake. Jeebs... ._.

Nomura) didn't know stuff well enough back then, it was on BBS where most things were defined and a real path was traced. And still after that they added stuff and even had to change stuff. So yeah in a 20 year project that can happen unless you are a pro writer like Brandon Sanderson.

Cuz very much like everyone else I’m also convinced they made shit up for the overall lore/plot literally in the game that any concept or thing appears in, nothing was ever planned. Crazy final hard boss in KH2 that’s one of the main overarching bad guys? Really fucking easy to make a cool looking final boss in a game then in the next one way well we gotta include that guy lol. Who in the fuck was the primary writer/writing team for this series? First KH I played on release and I was like 12. That game made vague enough sense due to acceptance of anime bullshit being a normal thing. Then all the other games get added and it’s more convoluted than if the xenogears and xenoblade games were more intricately linked than by a failed science experiment that resulted in the destruction and creation of a new universe and then locking that ability into a sweet sci-fi anime sword
@@GopherChomper the secret ending of kh1 was if there ever was a planned sequel. It was a only a concept which is why there are things in it that aren't in kh2 like Roxas with the heartless emblem and Kairi older design.

Kingdom Hearts is what happens when you love your characters too much to kill them off, but your story involves a lot of people fighting to the death. So you just reincarnate them 3 times over, for every character.

Roxas showing up in KH3 fully killed the series for me. I never cared for Roxas really. The plight of the nobodies didn't sway me at all. Like dude you shouldn't exist on multiple levels, get over it.

I disagree with people saying Kh has a terrible story. It is great, you just have to take time to review the full lore and analyze it fully in order to appreciate it. Eventually it will all make sense in time. Also, people have complained about Sora's positive attitude in KH 3 as though the last game had no effect on him. People like Sora exist, specifically those who strive to stay positive and retain their humanity in the face of adversarial struggles. It also seems frustrating Sora didn't get the girl to many, but to me it reminds me of how relationships don't always start when you want them to.
I only played the first KH back when it first came out, but have always been interested in the larger stories of the entire series, so the amount of time and work you put into this video is much appreciated.

I really like how the series draws parallels between Riku and Young Xehanort a few times. Once in BBS when Terra looks at Riku in Destiny Islands and in DDD when Young Xehanort holds his hand out to Sora

I'm hoping to buy Kingdom Hearts 3 soon, so my sister asked me about the story of these games that I've Loved for over a decade. I tried explaining the story to her, and she got very confused and said " this is the game with the Disney characters, right?". It absolutely floored her that the story was so complex.

I've played almost ever game and still missed a lot this video pointed out. I'm in love with these games and only 2 I played I didn't care for because of battle mechanics like the card battle system. But omg just the intro to kh3 had me tearing up with nostalgia. The animations and worlds are gorgeous and the battle mechanics are crazy fun. The game was a bit easier than most kh games but that meant nothing in the face of nostalgia and an amazing story with memorable characters from such an amazing set of series
I never played this game growing up but heard about it all the time and that it was really good. This video is awesome that is one heck of a storyline. Also Riku is my favorite character😂
I use to play kingdom hearts on the game boy when I was a kid, so I only know very little about kingdom hearts, I only the the basic, so watching this was helpful
Great video :) I actually got through the whole thing. The only thing I would have changed however is to have told the story in chronological order. it was a bit hard to keep up I got confused quite a few times because I only played kingdom hearts 2
I was doing so well until it I got to Birth by Sleep 😭😭 I sat there struggling to remember all the characters name and was completely confuse with the storyline. *sign* imma have to rewatch this again.

So let me get this straight, when ventus was split Sora and dark ven (I don't remember his name) we're created, when Sora released Kairis heart Roxas was made and Xion was made with a fraction of Sora's memory, this is a very confusing series.
You can't say "Timeline" and not go in Chronological Order. I mean... WHY PUT 358/2 days AFTER KH2? @@PretendoDirects While going in a chronological order may be best for other game series it doesn't work very well for kingdom hearts as in order for someone to understand what much of the terminology is, you would need to explain the story in order of release. Now I would understand your critique if the video was meant to be a quick story overview for fans of the series who needed a quick refresher as fans would understand the terms and junk the kh series has, but it's mainly a video for newcomers to the series who want to know the story of the dark seeker saga before jumping into KH3 and watching the conclusion of the saga.
Explaining the games in order of release also helps with explaining characters since with how some characters are connected, explaining the story in chronological order would feel a bit jumbled.
Literally me I bought KH 3 years ago for sale and loved the combat but not the story since I knew Nada. Now back to the present I JUST beat the original KH for the first time ever on Proud mode…. Man that was a trip

I always loved this game but I quit playing till kingdom hearts 3 cuz to me that was the ending I've always wanted and I ended up growing up and forget everything.

I've played almost ever game and still missed a lot this video pointed out. I'm in love with these games and only 2 I played I didn't care for because of battle mechanics like the card battle system. But omg just the intro to kh3 had me tearing up with nostalgia. The animations and worlds are gorgeous and the battle mechanics are crazy fun. The game was a bit easier than most kh games but that meant nothing in the face of nostalgia and an amazing story with memorable characters from such an amazing set of series

I never played this game growing up but heard about it all the time and that it was really good. This video is awesome that is one heck of a storyline. Also Riku is my favorite character😂
I use to play kingdom hearts on the game boy when I was a kid, so I only know very little about kingdom hearts, I only the the basic, so watching this was helpful
Great video :) I actually got through the whole thing. The only thing I would have changed however is to have told the story in chronological order. it was a bit hard to keep up I got confused quite a few times because I only played kingdom hearts 2

This is my all-time favorite game. Some things in the storyline make absolutly no sense lol but if you don't pay attention to all the details its just a super fun game to play.
Oh yes, very helpful in deed. I didnt know there were more games for this series. I only have KH1 and KH 2. I finally got KH3 and as I was playing it (promiss no spoilers) what Master Yen Sin said to Sora, I was confused but now after watching this it all makes sence. Now I can play the game in peace!!! So let me get this straight, when ventus was split Sora and dark ven (I don't remember his name) we're created, when Sora released Kairis heart Roxas was made and Xion was made with a fraction of Sora's memory, this is a very confusing series.

@@JosephReference No. Timeline explains the timeline, not release order. Chronological Order is the best way to make sense of everything, not by release order.
@@PretendoDirects While going in a chronological order may be best for other game series it doesn't work very well for kingdom hearts as in order for someone to understand what much of the terminology is, you would need to explain the story in order of release.
Now I would understand your critique if the video was meant to be a quick story overview for fans of the series who needed a quick refresher as fans would understand the terms and junk the kh series has, but it's mainly a video for newcomers to the series who want to know the story of the dark seeker saga before jumping into KH3 and watching the conclusion of the saga.
Explaining the games in order of release also helps with explaining characters since with how some characters are connected, explaining the story in chronological order would feel a bit jumbled.
Literally me I bought KH 3 years ago for sale and loved the combat but not the story since I knew Nada. Now back to the present I JUST beat the original KH for the first time ever on Proud mode…. Man that was a trip
