I love it, love it love it! Saw Hiatt a couple of nights ago, and was wishing I could hear She Runs Hot. Already got my ticket for Nick Lowe when he's in my area next year, but I don't think I'm likely to hear a Little Village song from him either. ❤❤❤ to the long time ago ex-BF who introduced me to this album.
All of these musicians are great..John Hiatt is phenomenal..great solo singing and great on guitar..rhythem is flowing out to the fans ..melody is fantastic..a legend..sure thing
Audfilm : Nick Lowe just played nearby backed by Los Straightjackets (great band, did a great job)... but I thought the same... wishing Little Village reformed... Ry's latest album is great...
NOW THIS IS A DEFINITELY A FUCKING GEM RIGHT HERE..! THIS IS WHAT UA-cam Is ALL ABOUT..! Hands Down - "THE BEST FUCKING BAND THAT NO ONE EVER HEARD OF - WHAT A FUCKING LINE-UP OF TALENT"..! Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Nick Lowe, Jim Keltner..! SIMPLY BRILLIANT..! - "The Country Had It's Head Up It's ASS Big Time @ The Time, And Still Does"..! I HIGHLY Recommend Buying, Or Downloading,The Album "Little Village"..!
Man what a great quartet. John Hiatt was fully aware of the potential in the late eighties. I think the album doesn't show off enough of the grittier live sound. It was very much a one-off but I like it's all grown up version of the band and the Traveling Wilburys... a little further down the road. Don't call it a stupor group!
John Hiatt is an explosion of rhythem and melody,l in one..great singer and guitar player..great perfomer..great entertainment that goes out and owing over the world..great sidekicks
This was Johnny Carson's last month on the show and he hand picked everyone who came on those shows. He knew these guys well, and as a drummer himself, Carson especially followed Jim Keltner.
Well, smarty pants, as I said above, Mr. Carson hand picked the artists for his last month so no one you every heard of was on air that month. And if you knew that Mr. Carson was a drummer and that Jim Keltner used to give him drum lessons - then you'd be a lot smarter person, especially if you google Mr. Keltner's discography.
I did read your post, and I'm aware of all their careers - I meant my post as a compliment; I wasn't slighting anyone. For an artist to do two songs was rare, since the show was no longer 90 minutes. And I was in a pretty good mood when I posted it.
Ry Cooder a un jeu superbement lumineux sur le premier morceau, et sa manière de chanter est aussi très expressive ; Le deuxième morceau est très différent, tant dans le rythme que dans l'expression.
Ide never heard of Little Village but have been a big Ry Cooder fan since the early 70s and saw him live at Hammersmith Appollo theatre ? Great to hear this great attack and lyrics did they do any albums ? Minds me of Rys slide chum David Lindleys albums
They recorded just one record together as Little Village. It's okay I guess, but as a huge longtime Cooder, and Hiatt, fan and having seem Hiatt dozens of times, I'd say that the collaborative songs aren't quite up to John's usual songwriting standards; and for some reason the potential energy just didn't get captured onto tape. I didn't get to see them live on this tour but I've got a bootleg CD of a radio broadcast show where they were absolutely fantastic. This is, of course, the same band that played on Hiatt's Bring the Family record, which is indeed excellent. PS, Like yourself I am also a big David Lindley fan and I not only saw David play both solo and with El Rayo X a number of times, but I also saw Cooder and Lindley playing together 3 or 4 times. David's death just about wrecked me.
First of all, it's pretty bad that this is the only way possible to speak to your sorry ass! I just came from a clip you shared of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" and would love to know why the comments are turned off? Clicked on your channel and couldn't find any contact with you there either?? So I ended up having to click on some random video and leave a comment in hope that you might actually see it! WOW! What are you SO afraid of man?? Anyway, I was going to share a cool bit of information about the concert (I was there,) between the Stones and Skynyrd who opened for them, about the big fight that ensued afterwards between them! You should allow people to comment on your stuff. A lot of people would have found it very interesting I'm sure.
Sorry, I don't want to share all the information and trouble I've had with the Skynynrd video - was removed finally because of a copyright infringement...
Such a talented group, but, on their own admission, they never amounted to the sum of their parts. They just never had the songs. I saw them live and was seriously underwhelmed by the material.
Little Village? Original Little Village was a Connecticut band. ROCKED the 1970's. Put this all star band to shame. LOOK 'EM UP! ....Little Village, CT. Blow you away....
Thanks Udda for backing me up! I'm not talking illustrates their superior rock musicianship. Meanwhile, JFinlay over there will stick to his own interpretation of rock. He probably owns Air Supply vinyl too.
the original Little Village from Connecticut, as you put it, was a good solid local band (I own their self titled LP) but in no way shape or form where they anything like Ry Cooter, John Hiatt Jim Keltner and Nick Lowe. I bet if you asked Mark Malucci from Little Village #1 he would be honest and admit that they were not in the same league as this supergroup.
That whole Little Village album is top shelf. It's pretty hard to stop listening to it over and over again....never gets tired. Fun stuff.
Check out John Hiatt’s Bring the family. It is little village,as well. It’s a masterpiece
Doesn't get any better. All musical legends!!!
One of the 20th century’s greatest collaborations. Their single album is pure gold, every single note.
I love it, love it love it!

Fantastic to see four great musicians not getting in each others way. Real stars no egos.
One of the greatest bands ever IMHO. Among many other things, Jim Keltner’s drumming is out of this world
And Nick Lowe's bass!
Wonderful stage presence as well as great tunes! Fun to watch Hiatt dancing around.
Ry Cooder is the greatest slide guitar player and a musical genius , super group 🇺🇸⚓️
And sexeeey sexy sexy
and Sonny Landreth as well
All of these musicians are great..John Hiatt is phenomenal..great solo singing and great on guitar..rhythem is flowing out to the fans ..melody is fantastic..a legend..sure thing
I saw these guys when they played in Vancouver. Epic! One of my all-time fave groups!
One more album, please. Little Village FOREVER!!!
Absolutely, just one more!!
Wish these guys would work together again. It's an extra treat somehow that this was on Carson.
Audfilm : Nick Lowe just played nearby backed by Los Straightjackets (great band, did a great job)... but I thought the same... wishing Little Village reformed...
Ry's latest album is great...
I saw them live in Atlanta back around this time. They killed it!
From their 1st CD. As of 2020 still waiting for the next 8!!!
Hahaha! Me too. Must be content seeing them individually or with other bands.
It’s just...Oh god...So gooood...Soooooooooooooo GUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD

Wow!1 what a gem! Now this is what I love about UA-cam!
Said that not 10 minutes ago, as I was sharing this video.

Brilliant I love the band but somehow I never heard this song till right now. makes me feel really understood after the last few days of work,
Hello Everyone, I was able to see these guys at the Patages theatre in Low Angeles and they we're great. Wish the put out more albums
Nick’s “Party of One” album is ‘almost’ Little Village 😄.
Besides Ry’s slide work... his hair looks fantastic omg
Sexy sexy sexy Ry. Love the music too
Sensational performance..Rhythem and melody terrific..never forgotten..little villiage..
What a great lineup!
great chemistry with these guys, great songs! We need them back!
It'll never happy. I'm just glad they're all still alive & kickin' & touring. Great individuals in a great, under recognized band.
Listen if I had to try to communicate to some future person what “Rock and Roll” is this is what I’d show them. Perfect Rawk
wow!
Nick Lowe (Bass AND vocals)
AntsRun I love you for posting sucha gold class
I was at the Minneapolis show Johnnie mentions!
Blues with Flavor! Oh yeah!
Fantastique!!!!
That CD longbox! Man I want that bad!
Love their sound, hard to put it down.
Wish they had done “Big Love”.
Little Village played The Tonight Show??!! Get outta here! This is great!!

Doowah Diatribe Awful big o' Johnny to give 'em time for TWO songs!

Ya know with a little practice and a couple of breaks these guys could have a real career in music. :-)

sure looks like a Cooder in the back playing the drums.
Sidebury?
He rocks!
It's Jim Keltner, *not* Joachim Cooder who is indeed a drummer...
@@goodun2974The "legendary" Jim Keltner.
Hit it boys, tell me about yourselves in one sentence..hot for .e huh..cold or hot..sounds like a water faucet..

The album was weak..live much better..they needed an outside producer to crank things up.
T-Bone Burnett? I don't think Jeff Lynne but then what do i know.
Such a talented group, but, on their own admission, they never amounted to the sum of their parts. They just never had the songs. I saw them live and was seriously underwhelmed by the material.
Nah. Doesn't do it for me. Too many guys were trying to do the Traveling Wilbury's thing back then. Remember the Notting Hillbillies? Texas Tornadoes?
Little Village? Original Little Village was a Connecticut band. ROCKED the 1970's. Put this all star band to shame. LOOK 'EM UP! ....Little Village, CT. Blow you away....

JFinlay, your name calling is not articulating the same idea as Udda you ass.

What a fucking idiot!! Put THIS band to shame? Bwaaahahaaa!!!
Nope. The ORIGINAL Little Village is an infamous song by Sonny Boy Williamson #2, which is where they got the name.
Nick Lowe is my first cousin - great musicians but poor songs.
You must be jealous
