Absolutely fantastic. Songs with great lyrics and melody. Clever and funky, sophisticated and deep. If I was stranded on a desert island Little Village would be the album I'd want with me. Has anybody in the film business tapped this for a soundtrack? If not, it's a gem waiting to be discovered. The full album is powerful. An entire novel all its own.

I caught Little Village in Boston, their last stop on the 1982 US tour, and they brought the house down. I am a Cooder fan from the early 70's, and admire the way he adapts and blends multiple influences, including gospel and Tex-Mex, to produce an unmistakable style.

He's a pleasure to listen to everytime - never the one to dominate the singer, but always accentuating - lifting the song to new heights.
