So to conclude it’s not you, it’s just so the information on the product is stated more clearly.
ffs CO the sonic STILL doesn't have a rotating emitter! Btw the rotating emitter first appeared in Rosa, when the Doctor opens the door and enters that warehouse where the suitcase is.
I'm still not a fan of the design, but credit where it's due, this is a big improvement. Sound chip is still great, lights are better. I'd probably buy this to take it apart for those. Not too shabby if you are a fan of the sonic's design though. Doesn't forgive that it wasn't released in this state. Edit: Also, I think this version beats the hell out of the Seven20 version. Useless button aside, the spinning part just seemed like a gimmick to me anyway. But that's just me.
the fact Jodie never got a proper screwdriver is yet another testament to Chibbie's... well everything. looks awful to this day, but if the tardis constructed a more refined version of this design that would've been better than a scrap screwdriver that only malfunctioned once

If I had to guess, and it is merely a guess, at some point they were going to put a rotating feature and that button would active it. They decided that having the crystal rotate would be too much work, but didn't want to order new body molds.
While watching this video and doing multiple presses on the top button, either 5 or 6 in rapid succession, I discovered the Seven 20 13th Doctor sonic screwdriver also has a wrist flick-activated "glitch diagnostic mode". 😎👌🏼
I went to a dr who shop a while ago in search of this sonic and they had both of the releases. Didn’t know that there was a difference between them until this video, I’m now so glad I went with the newer release with the frosted plastic
I think that top button is suppose to make the emitter head spin but only works if you press both buttons at the same time. Also why are you reviewing this again? I know you hate doing these reviews of what is essentially the same sonic you've already reviewed with very few changes so why even bother subjecting yourself to doing reviews of re-releases. Just skip them. Don't touch another Sonic Screwdriver again until we've gotten a redesign that's actually worth talking about. For the sake of your own mental health no more Sonic Dildo reviews!

it took a while for me to like it, it felt kinda stupid that it was made out of spoons, im just hoping that we get an upgraded version of the sonic that make it look more sturdy in a future season
I still think the 720 version is far superior cause u can still see that it's still not as detailed as the 720 I also like that the 720 seems to be closer in size to her actual sonic
The production design of series 11 was just terrible looking back on it. There's nothing from that series I would want as a toy. Series 12 at least had the new Cyberman designs. Even the Cybermaster design was great. Now, it just getting Character options to MAKE them.
Still haven't seen the Character Options version for sale here. I picked up the Seven20 a couple weeks ago, and I was impressed with the way the four separate LEDs for lighting each flashed in individual patterns, unsynchronized with each other...also if the seams of the Character Options one are as bad as they seem in this video, yuck...
I still just overall don't like this screwdriver's design. It's trying way too hard to be different. Props department really dropped the ball on this one.
If they make the character options without the touch sensor and the proper working top button with the same sound as the seven20 and the bottom button with the diagnostic sounds and spinning emitter then I’ll buy that one

About 4 months ago, I brought the UK version of the this screwdriver.. not happy! 😡 There’s sooo many obvious screws and joins around it that completely ruins the design.. I’ve ordered the seven20 US version of the sonic and hopefully it’s way better 🙏
Thank you for your videos. I didn't realize there were two options for the Thirteenth Doctor's sonic. The Characters Options is very bright and very bulky. The Seven20 one is very sleek and presents a better aesthetic overall. And yet, I still don't know which one to get. XD. Because, watching the episodes, and looking at reference pics of the Doctor, her sonic is much more bulky. It's driving me insane trying to decide which one to get: the better looking one (Seven20) or the more screen/ canon accurate one (Character Options)?
Saw this video and checked Argos today and they have it in stock. just picked it up and my god it really is a million times better! The new LEDS are glorious A relative is bringing back the seven20 version at the end of the month as well so cant wait to get my hands on that one.
I like the new sonic but I do not like new console room because when I saw the tardis i was thinking that we might go back to more of a classic look but we didn’t and it looks a little dumb I just hope the next doctor that we get goes back to a classic look
Thanks for mentioning where the touch sensor is, been shacking and tilting and flinging mine around trying to figure out how it works.. Also, it’s kinda cool that depending on how long you press the actual button or touch sensor, the emitter can glow for a second and turn off while the body is still glowing. Still looks like dog turd to me and it really shouts out that’s it’s more toy than replica, but overall the new design has won me over on the show. Love the yellow emitter color, and sound chip and I think an actual metal replica would be absolutely badass in anyone’s screwdriver collection.
I've taken apart the casing of the Screwdriver (by using a screwdriver, lol) and can confirm that the 'top' button doesn't do anything as it's held in place with a cover behind it.
I'm having a hard time looking for this one online. Found one, but it was out of stock. Can anyone suggest some links or online shop where can I grab this rerelase?

They did make the console room smaller to get close to an old design, but in general your right they should do another white classic style design
I like the emitter head but I'm still not liking the grip. It's the same issue I had with the 12th Doctor's sonic.
From looking at the prop, the CO looks like the prop shape..

The funny thing is that in the show, you can tell that she's soldering a SATA adapter, and doing a terrible job of it. ^_^
