- S08E11 - Happy Doctor Who Day! In this one we're taking a look at the Thirteenth Doctors Sonic Screwdriver by Rubbertoe Replicas.
This is an exact replica of the Sonic Screwdriver used by Jodie Whittaker's 13th Doctor, the Sonic Screwdriver's first apperance was in 'The Women Who Fell to Earth' when we see the Doctor building it, in a garage in Sheffield and it's final apperance was in Jodie's final episode 'The Power of the Doctor'.

Honestly if i had a collection like yours id be playing with them all the time
Gotta admit, this one did grow on me over time. Absolutely hated the overall shape, but it does fit in the hand very well, and the rotating emitter is a very nice touch. There's a few details that never really got to shine in the show, like the casing actually featuring a couple semi - intact spoons melted across it. Think it achieved the idea that this was a improvised tool made on Earth out of alien tech, just wish Thirteen coulda got a TARDIS generated upgrade later, resolving some of the uglier aspects of it...
What do you think the rotation actually does
@@plantainsame2049I’d like to think that it scans not just straight ahead, but on the sides too, so rotating allows the scanner to get a full 360° view of the entire area it’s scanning.

We've had a sneaky peak of it in the form of set pics, looks somewhat similar to the Eighth Doctor's from the audio drama covers! Wonder if it just appeared along with his clothes...
I can't wait to see Fifteen's. Betting he gets a purple emitter, it's the only basic color we've yet to see on a screwdriver...
@@alastormedial it's got the colors of tens but it's got the over-designed look up 12 which adds to my theory of 14 being a misremembered 10 with someone also having seen 12.
He's wearing checks instead of pinstripes blue over Brown instead of brown ever blew and he's only gotten one button of his vest done up and he's wearing a vest instead of a suit coat which matches held the 12th doctor only did up one button off his coat and had a three-piece
It's even got a 3rd setting.

How accurate is this to the prop bc I’m sort of building my own and I want to get it as good as possible
Literally made by the guy who made the one from the show
But he has much better sonics than this one lol
Very, it's made by the guy that made the original prop! Due to the nature of the prop evolving over the course of filming for fixes / improvements, it might deviate from how it appears in any particular episode, but you could think of it as a perfect "averaging" of how the prop looked over it's lifetime.
