- Volleyball tryouts are coming in the coming weeks! Maybe you have been practicing all summer. Maybe you have just started. Wherever you are in volleyball land, it's important to note that there are some things that you can do to grow in your volleyball journey and try out with confidence. On my channel, I have done plenty of things to help grow your confidence in tryouts, but perhaps you need an extra boost. Hi! So I will be trying out for volleyball in 1 week and im so excited! One question I have is if the coaches also judge based on what you wear because I am a muslim and covering all parts of my body is very important ( I would wear leggings instead of Spandex).

In the beginning of 7th grade I went to school tryouts and didnt make the team I remember me crying at the entrance waiting for my sister to pick me up since she was late. Instead of giving up I got over it and used it as inspiration to work harder. I watched coach koko’s videos and worked on my skills. Fast forward to two or three weeks ago I went to club tryouts and made my first club team. Now school tryouts are coming up again for eighth grade and I cant wait to show them what I learned!!! (So even if you fail in the beginning never give up use it as a lesson to work harder and come back stronger!)
Update: I MADE IT THROUGH FIRST CUTS!! Final tryouts are on Friday so i will update

I remember trying out for my schools volleyball team in 7th grade. I didnt make the team but its been 1 year and I've improved A LOT since then. I've gone to camps and used my schools open gym nights to the fullest. I'm serious for volleyball and hope to make my it this year whether it be on jv or varsity. I'll update on whether or not I made my team in September!
Update: first day of tryouts, there were 50 kids in total and i was SUPER nervous. I think I did really good tho!

On August 22-25, I have volleyball tryouts for middle school and I'm nervous because this is my first time trying out. But I have been watching your videos and thanks for the tips!
Same I made it to day 2 of high school tryouts and I’ve never done club.. I only play outside sometimes or with some adults in my neighborhood but I’ve never done rec or club. Best of luck to the both of us!

my freshman daughter is very good at volleyball (but doenst think so),just went out for her first travel team that was her dream to play for.made the starting team out of 60-70 girls..she has put in the work throughout the summers and even winters.she played all-a-round on her team until she fractured her leg from basically jumping to much!this put her out for 2 months and she was devastated...all this time we took her to the tournaments and she cheered on her team from the bench and hung out with them.She has just this week got back to practicing and has a major tournament this weekend.She is talented and we practice alot but i truly believe its because she supported her team and still practiced even when she really couldnt that when she started practice again that she got moved to starting outside instead of middle,got asked to play all-a-round right away and the coach asked the team in front of all them who was the best serve-receive on the team?yeah...my daughter who plays front row!the one who practiced this for the months she couldnt play!the one who showed up for games with a good attitude!coaches see this from day one and beyond even when you dont think they do!If you have the right attitude and passion in this,you can do anything!

It's Wednesday and i have tryouts starting today so I'm going to be updating my progress every once in a while over here. I am rlly excited!
Day 1: It went AMAZING!!! And then it was time to serve and i didn't get any over but that's ok cuz everyone makes mistakes.
Day 2: IT WENT EVEN BETTER THAN DAY 1!!!!!! So a lot of my serves went over, and my passes were making some progress.
Day 3: I was rlly nervous today and I did the best I could. I didn’t make it, but I’m going to practice all year to prepare for tryouts next year. I want you guys to not be discouraged by my post, I want you to do your best and not slack off. You go this!!!
⚠️STORY TIME⚠️ ALR so I just learned today at my schools orientation that volleyball trying was going around for the last two days and todays the last and I had no clue about it and I’m a little bit rusty from not practicing in a while but I’ve been conditioning this whole summer and I’ve been practicing even since I came back for orientation and got stuff done tmr is the day to see if I’m cleared and can play and if I’m going to make it. The coaches will be paying extra close attention to me and I’m kinda nervous but I’m confident in my skills so far. I’ll update u to see how it goes
To future self: no matter what nothings gonna stope from growing in volleyball and I WILL make a team sometime soon.
It’s late but I’m kinda nervous most of these girls have been playing since they were out of the womb but ITS OKAY.
Had my first ever volleyball tryout on Monday and used some of the older videos (not this one bc my tryouts had started) Ended up making the JV high school team as a eighth grader with people who have been on travel teams for years!! I’ll be playing either starting or alternate outside. (Remember, even if you haven’t been in a team before, you can make it with general skills, sportsmanship, and hustling everywhere)

-day one:
today was just a bunch of conditioning. we ran 10 laps around the court and ran up and down the lines. then we did sets and did this thing called butterfly. we also did partner things and did some blocks just so the coach could see our jumps. we ended with serving.
overall it was way more fun and less stressful than i thought it would be. looking forward to tomorrow!!

Hey coach Koko, I'm a guy getting ready for my middle school volleyball tryout. One question I have is should I wear my kneepads even if no one else is wearing them? Is there really a point to them if you don't need to dive.(or already know how to do it?)just asking because I'd feel a little embarrassed haha! 😅
This is a great question! It’s one thing to look cool and another to be safe. We only have two knees and how you treat them now will show you what you have later. Safety always comes first! Yes to the knee pads.
my tryouts are in november but the people in my county (or maybe not), hs tryouts are in the corner. so heres some EXTRA tips :)
be first from water break. it shows that youre VERY serious
when you make a mistake, hold the position you were in a find out the problem. if the coaches see you, they will see you as good/great potential
call the ball. communication is very ipmportant

How they did for me in 7th grade and 8th grade was that there were 2 teams, an and b, a was the better team. You got to play, on the team you were chosen to play on. I hope to make the varsity team as a freshman.
I have tryouts on July 31 through August 2. I have to go to all three tryouts. It is my first year trying out for volleyball and I’m very getting pretty scared and kind of losing confidence to this video is helping.
Hey Coach Koko! (or my fellow volleyball players) I definitely have enough strength to serve, even when I serve from the very end of the court, the ball goes incredibly far and almost always goes out or hits the wall on the opposite side. Hi! I been watching your videos for a while and really like them. Trying to get some pointers for my granddaughter who plays volleyball and in the 8th grade. She very quite and has a hard time with girls that thing they know it all, and a lot of the time that get her on the B team. In 7th grade and club ball she plays right side and now they have moved her to the middle because she 5'9. Any suggests you have to help her become more confidence and help her not be so quite.
