I just got in a team but my problem is that I still feel a bit uncomfortable calling for the ball or if we try to get the ball our rule is to say „me“ to practice communication.
@@midnightcrow5690 it’s ok to feel uncomfortable! Try communicating with ur teammates personally to get comfortable, get used to everyone’s habits when the ball goes up, and work out a plan to call for the ball without them noticing while still letting them get the ball so u can all play equally! 😁

hey!! one more day of tryouts and i think i did pretty average haha. im pretty good with passing and setting but my height affects hitting and serving (im 5'1 and everyone else is like 5'6-5'7 lol) it doesnt stop me tho!! hopefully i can make the last day count haha ive been trying my best! if i dont make it then thats totally cool ill learn from it and hopefully tryout for club in november. if i do make it then imma be super hyped and ready to learn so much more (im pretty new to the sport lol) :))
One time I thought I had knee pads on when I was just playing with my friends in gym because the teacher didn’t care but I dove and slide at least like three feet on my knee and blood was on the ground and it burned so bad😖 Got the ball tho😉
Today I had to get my High school schedule and I was interested in volleyball since our family is best at it. I was inspired so, whenever we played it in gym I was always excited. Does it matter to go to open gym because my tryouts are in July so I have plenty of time to mentally prepare myself for it but my open gym is in 2 weeks and I don’t think that’s enough time for me cause I’m a freshman and I literally have NO IDEA abt anything w volleyball and I mean nothing so I thought I’d be able to have enough time to teach myself but I don’t want to miss open gym if it’s important.. Tea Sis I think you should go to open gym! Me and my friend are about to be sophomores and we’re trying out because we don’t play a sport in the fall! We’ve never played so we won’t be disappointed if we don’t make the team we’re kinda doing it for fun. I’ve gone to 3 open gyms and my tryouts aren’t until August but I’ve really improved!! I think you should go and don’t be nervous although it’s REALLY nerve racking at first you’ll do great ✨

This video is so helpful & I wrote everything down on the Notes app on my phone so I don't forget! I'm an incoming senior and hoping to make the varsity team (3rd year playing)! Your videos give me more confidence and preparation! A couple of additional things I would suggest bringing are: a small (face) towel to wipe off sweat and a container / plastic bag to carry jewelry/accessories before practice. For me, I tend to sweat a lot and majority of the time wipe it off using my shirt (which can be kinda gross) so having a small towel is handy for tryouts / actual games. A container / plastic bag helps make sure you don't lose your earrings, hair ties and other smaller objects in your bag.

At volleyball I usually get a lot of cramps and I heard that Gatorade is good for cramps so it is a good drink to bring to tryouts or games or practice😄

I guess my school is different from others when it comes to volleyball. We don't do tryouts. We all get to play. They are about 14 12-15 year olds there. We will be practicing all summer!!! I am so excited.
You don’t have to bring knee pads to tryouts or practice, but you do need to bring them to games. I remember one time I forgot my knee pads and my coach was about to not let me play, but thankfully, someone had extra ones with them. So please remember to bring knee pads to games!
I bring a journal to make personal goals and write down how I did after a game. It really helps you get your thoughts down and focus on the important things you need to work on.
So...School starts next month (September ) for me and I’m pretty nervous because I’m not really the sporty person and for once in my life i found that volleyball is probably one sport I will be able to play ! I’m 13 btw and am a female🙂. But you give me the courage I really love your energy❤️ and I’m pretty new to the Sport so I’m trying to learn as much as i can and be prepared for when or if I make the team! Just had to share lol 💕
Had first day tryouts today, no cuts. tomorrow first cuts then last so excited. Been on the team for three years so i would just say stay positive, coaches look for supporting and positive teammates
Some extra things I bring are; Nail clippers and a nail file (long nail gang), hairbrush/comb, BANDAIDS! Always bring Bandaids! Yes they do fall off due to sweat but if you have tape you can tape it on, along with that bring some Neosporin because we don’t want infections, me being the mom/nurse of my team I bring all feminine products because some people use pads some use tampons, cuticle oil for travel because if you’re nails are strong and your cuticles are healthy you’re less likely to have broken nails. That’s just some other stuff I have, I definitely have more but can’t think of any, but this is mostly stuff I bring because I’m really clumsy and get hurt a lot, like slicing my finger with my own nail 😅

I guess my school is different from others when it comes to volleyball. We don't do tryouts.
We all get to play. They are about 14 12-15 year olds there.
We will be practicing all summer!!! I am so excited.

You don’t have to bring knee pads to tryouts or practice, but you do need to bring them to games. I remember one time I forgot my knee pads and my coach was about to not let me play, but thankfully, someone had extra ones with them. So please remember to bring knee pads to games!
I bring a journal to make personal goals and write down how I did after a game. It really helps you get your thoughts down and focus on the important things you need to work on.
So...School starts next month (September ) for me and I’m pretty nervous because I’m not really the sporty person and for once in my life i found that volleyball is probably one sport I will be able to play ! I’m 13 btw and am a female🙂. But you give me the courage I really love your energy❤️ and I’m pretty new to the Sport so I’m trying to learn as much as i can and be prepared for when or if I make the team! Just had to share lol 💕

Had first day tryouts today, no cuts. tomorrow first cuts then last so excited. Been on the team for three years so i would just say stay positive, coaches look for supporting and positive teammates

Some extra things I bring are; Nail clippers and a nail file (long nail gang), hairbrush/comb, BANDAIDS! Always bring Bandaids! Yes they do fall off due to sweat but if you have tape you can tape it on, along with that bring some Neosporin because we don’t want infections, me being the mom/nurse of my team I bring all feminine products because some people use pads some use tampons, cuticle oil for travel because if you’re nails are strong and your cuticles are healthy you’re less likely to have broken nails. That’s just some other stuff I have, I definitely have more but can’t think of any, but this is mostly stuff I bring because I’m really clumsy and get hurt a lot, like slicing my finger with my own nail 😅
