I’m actually going to my first volleyball practice on Saturday and I’m nervous also because I never played volleyball and this is helping me actually get to know what some of the practices are so this video is helping me a lot because I never played volleyball the only sport I played so far is basketball so this is helping me know about volleyball!💗
Just wanted to let you know that I am watching this to help me plan a church sports camp, where each drill is related to a Scripture passage they have been learning about. I loved your preaching on Zechariah at the end!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post this. It's really easy to follow with enough depth to understand the reasoning behind everything. I have 6th grade PE for an hour this year and your video will be a huge help to get them playing properly.
My daughter is 15 and just getting into volleyball and I know very little about the sport. This was very helpful and I love how you correlated The Word in the end. Thank you!!
This helped me a lot! Tryouts are in 2 weeks and I’ve been panicking since I have no experience, I recently started doing drills with my mom (who is very experienced in volleyball) and it’s been a little bit hard for me but it helped a lot and so did this!
This video is great! I am a new coach to a youth team ages 8-12. Love the "calming the ball" reference and the connection to how the Lord can calm the storm! Keep making videos!!!
Thank you! I am coaching city sports and even though it isn't the most serious or competitive thing I want to do right by these girls and try to actually teach them something even though I don't know much yet!
Wow, this is awesome. My sister played 7-12 in HS and I know she would've killed for you as a coach. I was at all the games and distinctly remember that coach needing your "calming" talk, lol. Now, I'm helping coach my son's 7-9 Rec league. I love your approach and other videos. Thank you!
I have played for years and this is a the best video so far when teaching children 6 to 12 true basics so they don't start bad habits such as I had to break by 7th grade... such as swinging arms when passing... and I completely forgotten about the roll out setting technique! Ahhh helped so much with setting and know how to touch the ball! Only thing you here from us is mine got it go 654321 😁
24:04 I'd just like to add a side blurb that will likely very rarely be relevant when coaching girls ball. I'm a broad-shouldered male that has been playing for 32 years and have played at a decently high level (have played doubles vs. Lloy Ball and not looked stupid, for example). My body structure is such that I cannot get a great passing platform, my elbows can't get any closer than about 8" together. The technique the coach is saying to discourage is actually my normal way of passing. She's absolutely right if you have a player that can make a good front platform, but if you have a broad shouldered player who cannot get a good platform out in front of them then this is the way they will probably eventually become good passers, by using the 3/4 sideways shoulder shrug pass. They will be shanking too many to one side or the other if they're always trying to do front passes, whereas with that side pass they'll have one arm under the ball and one behind it to push it forward.
I'm joining volleyball for the first time next year! 1- Where can i get good shoes and kneepads? 2- Thanks so much for this! I'll be practicing these drills with friends:)
Coach, I am a beach coach always looking for tips and your vids are great. In beach we coach passing square to the net and angling of the platform to target rather than squaring feet to target. We teach if there is time, then square to target especially for setting. So is this vid for beginners before you coach square to net and angling platform to target?
@@melissaconrad3951 In retrospect, the biggest difference in technique makes sense. Indoor 6 person teams enable more time to square to target most of the time because there is a smaller piece of the pie covered per player. Two person, beach volleyball teams have less time to get into position and therefore absolutely need to be able to pass by squaring to the net and angling the platform.
Good video, while I disagree with a couple of things, good interaction with the kids. Just my opinion, first said pancake on pancake hands, then said interlock the fingers a little bit, stick with the pancake, no interlock. Also, most coaches will teach the opposite to this; swing the arms, legs don't move, the bench drill is largely supposed to leave kids sitting and they should only use their arms.
I agree don't interlock fingers(that's old school terms she didn't mean lock your fingers together just make them stiff) and yes you always pass with legs.. ball is in motion your only changing the motion on your platform... she has alot of amazing drills... her being old school I'm thankful she didn't teach dead roach drill😑😒
Interesting drill with the foot movement. As a goalkeeper in soccer, we normally dont tend to crossover our legs like that. My son made the school under 14 volleyball team, and I'm working with them, but wondering about that leg crossover when moving
pushing out of the legs is old technique, noone in italy, russia, poland is learining receive this way. Its way more out of the arms and the biggest thing is the right platform at the right time. I know younger players need more guidance but like sitting before passing is outdated even for the youngest one. Im affraid that there is noone who is pointing that out in the comments. Do all american coaches teach this?
One of the best instructors I’ve ever seen. Great management
I agree. What is her name?

This is one the best breakdowns/explanations I've seen, great job!
one of the best I've seen. Well done!

That was ausome coach, love the ending statement, thanks for sharing!

Same here. I’m new to coaching this sport for 10-13 year olds. I love these videos. ❤
I'm going for a competition and I found this really helpful. I am going to use this training I hope my team will win

I am In love with your teaching
يجب التركيز والتنبيه على ضرورة عودة اللاعبة مع بقاء قدرتها على متابعة الكرة التي لعبتها ونظرها عليها وعدم الركض وظهرها للكرة...
We ar the best❤❤❤ Volley-ball
I'm joining volleyball for the first time next year!

for me, Dick’s sporting goods has good shoes and knee pads! BUT DONT BUY TURTLE PADS THEY WILL MAKE YOU BLEED AND THEY ARE ACTUAL VOLLEYBALL PADS!!!
*are not actual vball pads
Very accurate!

Love it
Love it all
Actually I think it will be better for us to gain basic
this is fantastic!!
Second girl was crossing over her feet did you want her to cross or Shuffle side to side?
thanks
Very Helpful!

It's not a true crossing. You pivot before crossing over to keep from uneven footing. Hope this helped.
Hey so I am going into 6th grade and I wanna do volleyball can u give me some tips for it?
Excellent video. However, I thought players were not supposed to cross their feet/legs?
You are so go
pushing out of the legs is old technique, noone in italy, russia, poland is learining receive this way. Its way more out of the arms and the biggest thing is the right platform at the right time. Yes, that’s how we learn. I’ll have to look up other countries’ techniques.
At the beginning, the girl only crossed her feet and you did not stop her
At 3:57 why did she snatch the ball from the other girl???? Rude
Too much speaking, little action,! They are not nursery!🤧🤧🤧
you talk too much
Nice Video on passing Coach! Thank you!
