I'm 120 lb and I was wondering how tall and heavy you are to see if I would have an problems, great riding 👏👏
i’m 125 lbs, 5’6-7 and i can’t touch the ground, on my 2021 yz125. i have to lean to one side to not drop it, but tbh you’ll get used to the height and stuff.
I'm 14, male, and 5'8", Is a YZ125 to big for me. I have also been riding dirt bikes for several years.

I’m about your height and just retired from MX and just trail ride now (I’m 35) but yeah dude, I had lots of 125s and they’ll fit you fine. Keeping on that power-band properly though will force you to build some muscle!
Rew just got a 2020 yz125 haven’t got the chance to ride it since I broke my elbow but my buddy’s 2019 yz125 is one of the most fund bikes I’ve ever ridden
I’m kind of new to dirt bikes. I’m getting a 125 2 stroke as my first and I went to a dealership and told me I could go for a 125 or 250 in I needed to. Anyway when you corner when do you slip your clutch? I see you pulling it to keep it from engine breaking and then slowly releasing as you go out of the turn. Also do you use your clutch when your in midair and landing because some people argue that landing with an active transmission can be bad for your gears if you land slower than you took off.
I try not to slip it in corners unless I need to, I use clutch in air to shift even though that's commonly agreed that you don't need, I usually land on the gas, I've heard that landing with no power puts wear on your clutch but who knows. I've never had any real issues with landing on the power, but I try to be at a similar rpm to when I took off so it's not a huge shock on the chain and trans. These bikes are so strong I doubt you'll ever see an issue especially on a new bike, fastest people I've ever met are only riding probably 60% of the speed and beating that the bikes are made to handle (I've also never heard someone's trans going out on a bike spare some 90s bikes)
When you do use the clutch on corners don’t you just pull it all the way in so it doesn’t slip but still keeps your rpms high? Also do you use clutch when you downshift because I know a lot of people don’t.
Yeah usually when I'm pulling my clutch in for a corner I'm either gonna make a shift, if I don't need to I usually won't. I always clutch for gear changes, I don't have the money to chance a trans going out 😂
When you pull the clutch in on a corner do you shift up or down? I know some people like to keep low gears and high rpm and others like to upshift and just hit the gas. Sorry if I’m bothering you.
I downshift, sometimes if I don't shift where I usually do I won't do any shifting in corners

I’ve owned 4 Yamahas and Every one I’ve owned always end having transmission problems. I’ll stick to Kawasaki and Honda. For 2 strokes KTM and Huskies are the ones to get

Should i upgrade to a 125cc dirt bike?
You should go to a dealer where you can check if you are tall enough for the bike, but power wise you should be able to handle it.

I take mine on tons of trails, even tough technical stuff. For a race bike it has lots of low end power even in stock configuration.
Ended up getting a 19 125. Been loving it!

What I usually tell people who are gonna go with big bikes, get a 250f to start on, then spend some time on a 125, and then you'll be ripping on 250f or 2 strokes. If you're gonna get a brand new bike and keep it I'd go with a 250f if you've never ridden

All that shows up is changing tubes, anyway I'm assuming you mean power shifting which is what most people will use, I tend to not do that on other people's bikes as it isn't the best on the clutch
