@Owen Bailey-Waltz I had an Audi RS6 and love high speed rail. For distances up to 800 miles rail is better than airplanes. You can go from city center to city center without the hassle of airports. Once you ride fast trains in Europe or Asia you will understand
A testament to design, engineering, maintenance, and refurbishment, I'm always astonished at how well the Amfleet cars have held up over what has literally been 40+ years.
its surprisingly quiet and comfy inside, even when going 135 mph. its like a lexus inside. you forget how fast you are going, until you check the speed (used an iphone speedometer app)
MERRY_RBLX but there ain’t any, and none are coming to the northeast region. Also, consider the fact that the train would need to be adapted to North American railroad standards, like both the Acela and acs-64
@Budder Shark "the train would need to be adapted to North American railroad standards" As if this would be a big problem.... 1) Railway manufacturer all over the world adapt their products to the standards of "foreign" railroads on a daily basis - and nobody kicks up a fuss about it, it is simple common practice. 2) The adaption to american standards mainly concerns an adaptation to the below-average track layout and a reduction of the permitted speed..
i doubt that. most of the reason that they aren't going any faster is that the tracks are all wibbly-wobbly and therefore have restrictive speed limits making it hard to really "go fast" with any trainset. maybe it would've been *faster*, but i doubt anyone would be "blown away from such speed"
When you see a 7 car Acela you’re seeing the geometry car on that train. It’s used to test track conditions. It’s added to an Acela set every once in a while when doing testing and then removed. It does not carry regular passengers.
Thank you for not zooming out and in as the train approaches and passes. For me that kills the sense of speed and feels unnatural. I spent years watching Metroliners on the NE Corridor, and my eyeballs have no zoom function. Your camera work matches the actual visual experience.
I don't know why we don't have this all over the US. What about high speed freight using the same technology. The US is so far behind the fossil fuel, and automotive industry have kept us behind.
I really wish they could expand electrification outside of the NEC or at least have another small corridor outside of it that’s electrified like the surfliner trains. I really want high speed trains in the US, but a lot of the cities are too far apart outside of the NEC and trackage rights belong to the freight railroads.
@@Trainmaster909 - He may have ridden them before the overbooking began. (The one time I was booked on them (Philadelphia - New Carrolton), the overbooking had already begun, and you could NOT get a seat boarding in Philadelphia, and were lucky to get one if someone got off @ Baltimore. It is why I never - as in ever - booked on Acela Express the whole time they have been in service pre-Covid-19. The only reason I'll be taking one this summer is to get it in before Acela21 replaces them - and I have never been to NYC.)
Super nice video. America should really straighten the whole line of NE corridor. We don't need any 150mph plus speed. But please make at least 95% 120mph capable. CT part really sucks.
I'm pretty sure the CT area is slow because Metro-North and ConDOT owns the area and they probably don't want to upgrade it, they don't allow the Acela to tilt on their tracks either
Man, I hate push/pull. “We’re going to give engineers new locomotives with improved visibility, comfort, and crash protection. But only 50% of the time. The rest of the time, they’ll drive the train from a converted toilet.”
Sad that none of these trains see really high speed 100 is the fastest I've seen any of these trains go maybe 115 but that's nothing trains in India can get up to that and its a poor country we need to redo the hole system country wide like China and Japan and European countries why are we so far behind smdh
Christian Luckett these trains always reach 125 mph,and Acela Express reachs 150 mph. The speeds are true. And Indian trains don't travel at these speeds
1:16 Wow that's one heck of a Doppler effect - the horn drops nearly an octave as the train goes by!
Amazing! I wish the rest of the country had access to these.
caveman123ization it gets a little boring after a while
@@chrish3329 It does only because all you see are Sprinters in the NEC nowadays
For what it's worth, the new Siemens Charger locomotives we're getting can also do 125 MPH

I love the Keystone trains with the yellow/black at the end. I would love to have an N-scale version of that.
Those are ex metro liner cab cars- they used to be an actual train
While America may not have the fastest of trains I do adore the diversity of trains on different tracks.. Greetings from Germany!
Nothing like hi-def! Nice quality video!
I love watching these videos. They're relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. How is that even possible??? 😀😊☺
Wow great video and can't wait for some more NEC Action!
This makes me really want to move back to the Northeast!
Yeah, I hear you.
You're always welcome to move back up here anytime!
Great video! Thanks for not using camera zoom.
Wow what a great day, great video, great action, great weather and most of all great trains. Thanks Fan Railer...Frank...P.S..R.I.P.601
No one notice the Metroliner business car at 6:09?
I noticed it. It's a rare sight, probably deadheading to the engine shops or storage.
Yep
Now this is what I call trainspotting! The faster they go, the better!
Awesome video man, and man that doppler affect from that ACS-64 at 1:20-1:22 and that awesome horn action!!
Wonderful trains....love these videos.

nice u for lots of horn when are they going to reopen track 4 station
Excellent coverage 👌🏻 👌🏻 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
At 1:20 that train scared the living crap out of the lady wearing the white shirt 😂😂😂.
I know edit: I am 12
She just sat down-
nice u got lots of horn w
when are they going to reopen track 4 again
Awesome video. Wasn't that the 2160 7 car Acela?
what was with the temporary platform?
If there was a Eurostar going pass you like that boy you would be blown away from such speed

go next to the acela going full speed
Metroliner car at 6:09! Nice catch!
It's the first car behind the ACS-64
Which Train is that at 2:52 with the Baggage Car and the 2x Viewliners up at the front?
Silver star
10003 the Acela geometry car was in this video
R.I.P Acela set 7 (2032, 3216, 3553, 3556, 3301, 3557, 3419, 2034)
Most awesome vid!!!
When will the the stretch of rail going to be electrified from D.C. to Richmond, VA?
They are planning on it but I am not sure
if they could up the speed limit to 110 like the empire corridor , double and triple track it in places since they have freight trains down there too
nice high speed
that platform does seem very narrow if they're going at full speed like at 1:16.
That's not full speed, that's like 110-115 MPH.
I miss the train! Pandemic end already
So do I. This video is so nice; to see the northeast corridor from Los Angeles. I'll have to visit sometime.
4:42 why is part of the station out on the tracks?
If you can see there is a train waiting near a parking lot
5:23 I know that Acela had an extra coach, I just couldn’t tell which one was the geometry car
It's the first coach.
Oh nice
There is so much §clickety-clack" when the trains pass. Can it be that they really don't have continuous welded rail?? 😨 Incredible.
even with cwr, you need to have joints for signal blocks.
Why the extra platform?
5:26 YES! 7 car Acela! Let’s go! I wonder why they don’t do this often

nope. good for 125/135.
