COMMUNITY PARTNER I Providence Partners with SOMN for Black Maternal Health Week Art Exhibit

Providence is a proud partner of The Shades of Motherhood Network (SOMN), which is a non-profit organization that is working to decrease the number of Black maternal deaths. Black birthing individuals are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications, and 60 percent of those deaths are preventable. SOMN created the Shades of Joy Art Exhibit to commemorate Black Maternal Health Week. This exhibit was designed to humanize Black bodies and was displayed in Providence hospitals in Eastern Washington, including Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
