What size should you go with if some one's measurements don't seem to fit with the chart? For example, What if according to the chart their waist is XL but their hips are medium?
I bought the pattern and also watching the video, however, it seem not so correct. Because the hakama has only 5 pleats while the pattern with 6 pleats in front. Am I not correct at any point? Please point out for me.
would this work for brocade fabric? I'm going to be doing a different colour of brocade for each leg.. would interfacing everything be a smart move? I'm a beginner so this will be my first challenge
You can use brocade so long as it's got some natural fiber in it. If it's 100% polyester, you'll have a hard time ironing the pleats in since they'll have a tendency to want to bounce back to their original form. Interfacing the legs isn't necessary here unless you want to stiffen the fabric for some reason. Keep in mind that interfacing such large pieces means you won't be able to wash your garment in the wash afterwards.
Bought the pattern and will try asap, the measurement chart feels super strange though.. Normally I would be a size S but according to the pattern my waist is one centimeter over M so I should probably use L while my hip measurements aren't even on the chart because they are smaller than XS? I have no idea what size to make now :/ I understand its a maximum size option but my sizes being that far apart is really strange.. what would you recommend for 71cm waist and 84cm hip?
There's a lot of variety you can play with. I'd recommend cotton twill or suiting fabric. We have more suggestions that are in the booklet that come with the pattern.

i really needed this for my client's uthahime cosplay
Thank you. I followed these instructions passively and still managed to construct a usable pair in one day.
Good stuff!
Great instructions, wonderfully presented ❤
I'M SO GLAD THAT I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL
Thats very good project love it
thank you!
Epic pattern 💪🏻🔥
So excited to do this! Just got the pattern! :3
Nice pattern and presentation but not really traditional Hakama pants but a good alternative
Yesss they are meant to be more traditional looking and meant for cosplay! We have another hakama pants pattern that are more ‘traditional’ ☺️
😅@@ndlwrkshop
how would you go about sizing up the pattern? the 4xl waist size still it's big enough for me (that's embarrassing to admit😅)
Omg I'm so excited for thessseee
Is this pattern and the wide pant pattern the same instructions? Just more pleats?
yes exactly! The steps are the exact same otherwise.
@@ndlwrkshop thank you so much!!!!
Love it! what kind of fabric do you recommend for making it?
I'd recommend a mid-weight poly/cotton blend if you don't want to spend too much time ironing it every time you want to wear them!
❤️❤️
Thank you, it's very clear!!!❤❤❤

Go with the measurements of the waist for this piece.

Depending on the model you bought, there is either 4 pleats total or 6 pleats total at the front. None of our models have an odd amount of pleats.
What type of fabric do you use for the pants?
Hello! We used a cotton blend. We can't remember the name but it was a medium weight
@@ndlwrkshop gracias
When you say the seam allowance is 1cm is that already built in to the pattern or am i supposed to add a 1cm boarder all the way around the pattern
All seam allowances are built into the pattern.
Hi, do you have an actual paper pattern for these hakama pants?
We only sell PDF patterns. We do offer the PDF in A0 format which can be easily printed at a local print store for a small fee.

Ok, would love to make those, but I have a question, how do you go to the toilet with those??
You'd have to untie them completely unfortunately.
We do have a skirt version coming out soon which would give easier toilet access.
Hi I have a question Which size do i need to choose ? I'm 185 cm and idk which one i need L XL 2XL or more ???
It depends on the circumference of your waist. You can refer to the chart in the online listing!

For this pattern, use your waist measurement. I'd recommend medium even if it 1cm off.

Update for anyone wondering or having the same issue: The pattern in M worked perfectly for me!
How much fabric would i need for a size S or M?
How many meters of materials do i need to buy for this?
