That bread looks really yummy!! I would like to see you make the recipe for apple cider vinegar if you haven't done so already. Thank you for the tips on those tents. I also like the curved one too but it would be nice if they had windows in that like the other one. Who knows maybe they will do that. For your other tent, it seems like you would be able to buy some metal holders instead of those cheap plastic ones that keep breaking. Maybe a hardware store might have them somewhere or Amazon or somewhere. I really enjoy watching all of your videos. Your children really are sweet, and so are you guys. I also enjoy watching your shopping extravaganzas, lol.
Thank you!!! Oh glad you enjoy our videos! Yes, I need to make more cider so I can film next time! Great idea. I have about 2 gallons fermenting right now... It's sooooo much better than store bought and it's easy too. Thanks for watching us, have a wonderful New Year!!!
My name is John I live in Monticello Kentucky I really do like your videos you are very lucky to live in Alaska I have a sister in law in Anchorage and I will never get to go there
Hey John. Well thank you. Well hopefully one day you can visit Alaska. It's amazing, scary, extreme, and great all at the same time. We have another You Tube channel...called Shopping in Alaska It's a fun channel where we shop and explore different shops and locations (You may enjoy those videos too!) Thanks for watching, have a safe and happy New Year!!
Hi Sarah. You did a great job reviewing your shelter/ car ports. Plus I’d like to see more cooking content at times in ‘25. Hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year!🎆🎈🎊
Thank you. Yep, everyone would like more cooking segments in there... the carport review was also requested too. Happy to share what we have learned so folks don't waste their hard earned money. Happy almost New Year!!! Time sure does fly....!!
Hi!!! Merry Christmas!!! Did you film a video on Christmas Day? Opening presents and such, or did you keep it as a private family time which is totally acceptable as well. With shopping so far away, I think it would be fun for each of you to hand make gifts for each other. Loved watching you baking bread, although, I sympathized with Brady and Harley using the two man saw. Lumberjacks chucked those aside for chainsaws for a reason!!😂😂😂 But it was fun to watch! Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas! Can’t wait to see a new year of adventures with all of you! Bless you all! Happiness always!💜💜💜
Hey there!! No video that day... sorry we honestly forgot we were excited to open presents! Like your idea of homemade gifts. Yes Harley & Brady are both so strong. So wierd to see my "babies" grow up... I am proud of all 4 kids! They are all so different. Hey at least they get along! Lol. Thanks for watching us. We also had another video out today on our other shopping channel. Brady took some beautiful drone footage Have a safe and great New Years!!!
Love the stove top bread! I used my log burner to cook quite a lot when I lived in the UK. Obviously this works for you but might I make a couple suggestions… 1 allow the dough to rise a bit more before baking 2 preheat both cast iron pans before adding the dough 3 use the smaller pan on the bottom with the larger pan as the lid- as the heat naturally rises it would be trapped and provide a better oven effect 4 a couple coins between the stove top and the pan helps prevent over cooking the bottom
Oh my goodness I love your tips!!! Thank you...as you know there are so many variables cooking this way. Every batch seems a bit different! Thank you!! Happy New Year!
We had such a great family Christmas! Yes the kids enjoyed their gifts... great food, and Jeff is doing better too. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas too. Have a happy and safe New Year!
Oh you are so sweet Cathy!!! We really appreciate it!! I am going to take that and get me some fireproof oven mits for our hot bricks! The other mits I am currently using are disintegrating from the heat!!! Lol. Thank you thank you!!!! Have a safe and happy New Years!!!
It's been a long time since I cut wood with a crosscut saw 😊. I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore but it's great exercise and experience for the young ones 💪👍👏
Hi from North Pole, Alaska Trapper Dave. I hope your family had a great Christmas and that Harley won't blow up anything on New Year's eve!!!!!! Seriously, enjoy your holidays as a family and thanks for a nice baking video. I agree that the Shelter Logic is a better investment in the long run. Best wishes
Dave, hope you are doing well. Yes I have to watch Harley...his name suites him well...Lol! Yep Shelterlogic has been wonderful overall. My goodness that poor thing has seen some serious weather.... Well you have a safe and happy New Year!!
I agree on the propane, I have watched a ceiling go from fresh paint white to a smoke yellow in 5 years, you would have thought 30 people smoked there but no one smoked there at all, thank what that is doing to a person lungs, I don't mind propane if its outside are well vented places.
Absolutely!!! It was giving me asthma and I didn't know it was that because it was vented to pull it outside! Yikes, scary stuff. My lungs are sooooo much happier! It has pushed us into wood stove cooking which great!!!
Great video!! The carports are cool! Learning to cook/bake on fire is also a great survival and/or camping skill!! Love how the bread looks like a giant pancake!
I am pretty lucky I have a bread maker I can do white bread 100% whole wheat bread and I have made pumpernickel bread if I had a wood stove I would try it
Thank you! No we do not. We were looking the other day...for Lodge brand. ( not from China) I couldn't find any.... We are looking though! We have made 3 pizzas for dinner tonight on top of our wood stove
Thank you for sharing! Love the cooking segment on bread making on the wood stove. I've done chili and reheating left overs when we were out of power for 10 days durning a ice storm in OK several years ago. Very interesting about the outdoor shelters. I have a 2 man saw that belonged to my dad that is hanging in my green house.
Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed the cooking! Yes I feel like it's good you know other ways to " get the job done" if you know what I mean!...especially here in Alaska Well, you have a great New Years! Thanks for watching!!
Mate you need to invest in a set of industrial welding gloves for the fire. I use a set when camping for my cast iron frying pan, camp ovens and bbq plates .
I have a pair on the way from Amazon....you are so right....the oven mits are slowly disintegrating... not the right tool for the job there. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
Finally someone who uses yeast. Every other UA-cam Alaska channel I’ve watched use sourdough. I was beginning to think that’s all people in Alaska use when baking. I don’t like sourdough.
Absolutely!! Let me know if you have any more creative ideas to share... I have one viewer who wanted to learn about making homemade Apple Cider Vinegar... Happy New Years!!!
Well that's a story.... here we go...we were heating up the mill with Mr. Heater buddy...we threw Jeff's older MS250 under the tarp with the mill. Well somehow the saw fell close to heater buddy and it melted a bit....so had to whip out the old crosscut that day We ended up having to borrow a saw from a neighbor eventually Quite a story right? We need a new saw now.
You guys are daring having a V10 F-Series. All inline 5 cylinders and V10s suffer from irregular hot cooling ( heat soak) issues on the flywheel end cylinders caused by the wave-pattern in odd firing. Not a question of if but when the head gasket blows on flywheel side. Never allow the engine to get "hot"; as that condition will just speed up process of the firing ring on head gasket to give way. Does not matter if it's a 5 cylinder or V10 in a: Dodge,Honda,Ford, Lamborghini,BMW,etc. whacky irregular cooling on flywheel end is the norm.
It was the best. Jeff's back is better, lots of family time and great food together! Hopefully, you had a good Christmas too? Well have a safe New Year!!
Great Family and Great Parents!😇!😇!😇!😇!😇!😇!
Oh, thank you so much!! Have a safe and happy New Year!!!

Nice variety, do you have a dutch oven with a lid that has a ridge? You can bake cakes in them and put coals on the top. Bread looks yummy

What happened to the chain saw?😅
Well that's a story.... here we go...we were heating up the mill with Mr. Heater buddy...we threw Jeff's older MS250 under the tarp with the mill. Well somehow the saw fell close to heater buddy and it melted a bit....so had to whip out the old crosscut that day
