- Week 2 of Defiance, the Shadow Legion are up to something in Old Russia. Last week in the Deadzone, but things are eerily quiet in the Cosmodrome to start. This week's quest gives us some spicy interactions as tension between the shadow legion begins to brew. Amanda snapping at Queen Mara, crow’s shooting competition and a wholesome conversation between Mithrax and Devrim.

Today we recap week 2 of Defiance! The theme of mortal humans Vs. Alien darkness threat really shines as characters like Crow and Devrim bond, Amanda yells at Mara and we rescue more humans in Old Russia. What do you think the Shadow Legion is planning with these captives?
Bro Destiny 2 is throttling people who haven't bought the updates or the season.... No joke. I have an extra account that I'm using for fun and it doesn't have LightFall or the season purchased on it. Well I have been sitting in the Throttled connection page for 2 days. I use this account when I'm not home as to not get my main account stolen when I travel. This is getting stupid. I have an itch to play and cant for 2 days now.
So Amanda doesn’t trust anyone using darkness does she not know we’ve been using stasis for the last 2 years

I cannot fathom how Misraaks says that he has a daughter and Devrim doesn't even slightly mentions the existence of his, too, adopted daughter

They definitely forgot about her. I think that the only reason Devrim os a part of the season. Is because they suddenly remembered about him.
I love the interaction between the boys, Devrim and Misraaks have such dad vibes, Crow needs a hug I guess, Mara does what she can, Amanda acts like a sassy teen, this feels like I'm back at my parents with my siblings, idk how I feel about it but I think I generally like it. It just feels like a specific person and a bird are missing

That scene where the prophecy of the final shape. Eventually, we will need to respawn savathun to ally upp. Witness wants to bring back an ancient race to our dimension. SKira. We would need all races to take down pyramids, and that arrivals scene basiclly describes the final shape.

@@ItzYaboyRaven Savathun will not be an ally. Firstly, the cabals hate her, and secondly, during her lifetime she herself told one of the guardians that they have one goal, but the paths to this goal are different. And she remembers it, because we helped her regain her memory.
This is such a great vid. Totally missed the lore and the Mithrax/Devrim interaction on the radio. Very glad that Devrim and Crow are getting along.
Maybe the Shadow Legion are gathering prisoners for a sacrifice, possibly for Xivu Arath

Feels like this whole expansion was written by a completely different group of writers and usual. There’s all these weird mess ups in the lore. Like crow saying that he remembers his childhood with Mara.
um.... He does? Savathun restored his memories from Uldren during season of the lost. He has been struggling with it up until Haunted when he came to terms with it to a degree.
I have a slight narrative issue with the EDZ and Cosmodrome
It feels like they are the only places on earth where things ever happen
EDZ has:
A black armoury lab
A cabal base
A Rasputin bunker
A vex sky portal
The travelers shard
Season of defiance stuff
A forge
A lucent hive invasion
A taken infestation
The thorn quest
Solstice sky island event
and probably even more stuff
I understand from a dev standpoint why they only use few locations but it feels overly coincidentally cramped after a while, it really makes me wish we could get a new earth section
I would also list every little detail of the cosmodrome too but that would also just drag on (it has the same premise as the EDZ, just way too much has happened there)
I think they should at least say in the lore, for example, that the enemy not only attacks these locations, but we are sent to them because we already have experience and know the area.

I think that the Witness is collecting civilians to do what the traveler did with the guardians. think about it, Why would the Witness capture guardians who have already been brought back with the light instead of trying something new. Humanity has already been shown to be able to have some stronger connection with both the light and the darkness than other races who have not been altered in some way. It would be interesting to see what would happen if this is the case.
Agreed. I Can’t think of a better reason. this season has been cool so far but The shadow legions motive for capturing humans was never explained nor would any explanation really make sense. What the fuck they gonna do with a bunch a humans. It’s kinda ruined it for me as I get pulled out of the story cuz there’s no practicality to it. I hope they explain it

traveler using light to bring back Guardians. The witness using darkness to bring back dead civilians, or corrupting them

I think they're experimenting with humans to find ghost alternatives. Throughout the whole season so far they've been talking about people who "only have one life," and it has been a constant point. Mithraax ,Osiris and even Nimbus has touched on it specifically and with the betrayal of our ghost at the end of the main Lightfall campaign, I can't help but think they are about to separate ghosts from the traveler someway. Maybe ghost personalities are about to become transferrable into the Pouka or something after their connection to the Witness and traveller is severed. Maybe this is how ghosts get autonomy and get to make who they want guardians.
Man, in game exist many eververse ghost shells for silver/real money. You think they replaced on pouka?

What I hate more about this season is the Happy Go Merry tone that characters have, while we are doing these missions, but the stakes are supposed to be higher than ever, people are being captured, Earth is being invaded and it seems like they are in a walk in the park.
Probably a coping mechanism.

i mean earth's been invaded for centuries now we're saving the captured civilians so really besides the traveler we're dealing fine and its not the first time theyve been out out of commision
Two words, which I think are a setup for The Final Shape: taken humans.
Amanda is that Country girl who will fight anyone even if there a Celestial being such like Mara i'm sure if Amanda went face to face with The Witness i'm sure she wouldn't hesitate to slap him in the face or even punch Crow looking like a bottom if him and Amanda ever hook up

Amanda, we have literally figured out that the forces of light and darkness are not moral forces, they’re just forces. Gravity is not anymore evil than magnetism, neither are. Just because someone beats a person to death with a magnet doesn’t mean magnetism is evil
When I was younger this game made so much more sense to me. The Story and everything. Now I have a hard time understanding and keeping track of anything. Kinda just make my guardian look cool and try not to worry about the story as much

This is a massive stretch, but maybe the reason why that humans specifically are been held hostage for extraction of some kind? This is shadow legion, so we don’t entirely know what their endgame is…

Next power is most likely the strongest source of darkness, as it will be the opposite of Arc, which is the strongest form of light

@Mizuki I'm scared to say it, because Bungie outright said they designed Strand in no small part because everyone was expecting Poison/ Corruption and I really, really want this power, but I'm hoping it's effectively Dark Phantom Energy manipulation.
The tie in is obvious, the Nightmares and Nezarec, but in physics Phantom Energy (Dark Energy that increases exponentially) accelerates the acceleration of the universe. It's completely hypothetical and not likely to actually be true because it requires negative kinetic energy, but it's easily powerful enough to rip apart galaxies, solar systems, stars and planets, and eventually but most relevantly, atoms and subatomic structures.
Think about it, space time itself expanding faster than Light between charged particles nullifies the effect they have on each other (opposite of Arc and technically simplifying the universe to effectively a single subatomic particle), requires negative kinetic energy (Darkness reducing things to below zero seems pretty paracausal) and the most amazing part? We might have already seen this power in the lore before - the First Knife that the Winnower discovered in the Garden could be the Winnower using infinitely expanding space time as the weapon that ended up helping to create the universe.
@@mizuki2560since when was it established that Arc was the strongest form of light? Last time I checked Chaos Reach was pure dog poop in terms of damage.
