All great guitarists are moving their right hand in rhythm and are muting gods. Its all about only having the string you want ringing even though you may have hit others
When I was a little 💩,I never really paid too much attention to Steve ….My focus was Eddie, and a couple other “ Steve’s”….Vai n Ray Vaughan…. This dude is an absolute virtuoso though! Wish I paid attention to him earlier in my life
The Ice Cakes lick is very difficult to play for a person whose hands are small like mine. i am 5'4'' tall. Really hard to anchor your thumb over the fretboard for that part!
He played 4 sixteenths, the fourth being open e string (mostly). That bit is daunting to execute, some days you got it. Other days you wanna make bonfire of your guitars.
You can always pick out a musical genius from the intermediate… He/ she is the one who’s too shy to look at the camera. We love ya, Steve! 🤘🏾
2:32 just changed my life forever.
Whats the name of song ? please
haha yeah same here.. I remember hearing this many years ago and only now i've learned to play it..
Steve's hands appear to make the most economical movements and yet make the most unique melody .. just like the way he speaks

I first saw Steve play in '82 I was 14 feet away! I've never left a concert feeling more energized!
Steve Morse is brilliant
Me & my daughter did actually go to a highland wedding in Scotland when she was 3 I was a lovely weekend.
Super! Long live Steve!
Highland wedding is awesome 👍
I preferred the slowed versions. My slow mind is gripping a LOT new info on these familiar licks. What a player and musician..
Monster Genius 🎨
1:07 for those of you who are wondering where Sweet Child of Mine came from.
100%

fig. 1 off the charts. more challenging fer sure
Cool!!!
Flipping switches for tone even when he's just demonstrating licks. Those right-hand switch/volume gestures are built into the licks, for him.
Grandísimo musico fan num 1 saludos cd mexico

He forgot to play the easy licks he mentioned

What is the original video from?
It was on the DVD that came with an issue of Guitar World magazine.
@@safertoday thanks! Any idea which issue/year? So cool!
hi
the fast version.. its heavy and energetic.. slow its 😭
Highway star is wrong. Its not triplets but 4 32'nds
you mean sixteenth, Sir, ("sweet little sixteen(th)")-but in faster versions of Highway Star Blackmore played triplets...

After that, now I sold my Guitar and buy me a Tambourine ... 🙄
