I think Zan is one of the most balanced characters in the game. He has great range on his punches, good movement speed, very good specials, and a bunch of his attacks have a lot of invincibility. He doesn't seem to have any super damaging combo loops to use on bosses, so he's not quite as good as the best characters. He is really strong though, and surprisingly fun to use.

That soundtrack is fucking dope. The baseline progression when you move forward during the downed power line section of stage 1 got me like whoa!

They went with the Japanese voices which is why you don't hear power up, but yeah a lot of people miss it.

I've been enjoying this series so far. I can't wait for SOR 1 characters. SOR Axel 1 has been a fun play through. He hits SO fast and like a fucking truck. Anyone else enjoying the SOR 1 characters?

Dr Zan doesn't have many highly damaging boss loops... solo. In team play, Zan's tackle (blitz attack) is exceptional at preserving the height of a launched enemy. Once you are your friend pass the 3 wallbounce limit of a combo, Zan can spam his blitz into the wall and basically hold the unfortunate enemy there with a wide variety of possible, very easy, assistance hits from the teammate. Additionally, Zan can chain his forward special to have gapless invincibility frames in boss fights. With health to fuel it, Zan can tank any boss attack: even the Diva ultimates where they stand in a giant shock or fire puddle. Zan can do UNREAL damage to bosses who hold still and stay armored like that, directly trading his green health for massive boss damage. He's top tier in 2p. The lack of a real OTG hurts him, but weapons work in a pinch and so does his Star power.
Yeah the only thing he gets, which is subtle, is a ground bounce off of some of his throws - but it's such a small bounce you really just have time to blitz or forward special. He has great positioning tools too - and I find new players really enjoy him, the lack of combo strings but bonus's in straight damage make him great for somebody just starting out. You tell them to spam forward special and his neutral jump, and you've got a wall-bouncing nasty.

I swear they made Barbon the WORST boss in Streets of Rage 4 to make up for how easy he was in Streets of Rage 2.
He might have the worst OST as well. It is not even a boss OST, it's a disgrace to sor Legacy!!
That's a fact he got like the most unpredictable sequence of moves in a fucking game
You can make the Barbon fight easier by using neutral jumps to avoid his spin kicks and avoid destroying the bikes to prevent biker chicks from spawning. Sometimes I take little to no hits fighting him.
Every boss before him is harder.
It also feels like he is missing some frames here and there. His kicks don't seem smooth and look awkward

If you mean enemies stun then its not a glitch,its also a feature which is used in SOR3. IDK maybe they get confused to see bowling styled energy ball.

Even tho this is old apparently Zan is in the game for the survival mode he puts the characters in the simulation the whole time I thought he had died or some shit it would have been cool to get him in this game

That has got to be the most horrific thing I have ever read in my life.
One think I don't like about the remakes is that in SOR3, the characters can move slightly in between punches in a combo. Made things so much easier. In this one, you can't.

Why is the Xbox one version different from every other version of this game? When big Ben laughs no sound plays, most of the female voices have been switched out for someone else's, the punch sound effects for the classic characters aren't what they're supposed to be and the combo counter disappears too fast. If any one can help figure out why thanks.
Because the X1 version is based on an older build and hasn't been patched yet. They said they are working on a patch for it though.

The ability to run + Strike combo make Zane very op. just ask the multiple foes i used to clean with him. they will tell you...
but still despite his usefulness i prefer Blaze for her speed and combat style
On the first level, how do you always manage to keep the combo counter running for so long going from the first batch of enemies then up those little stairs. My combo counter always ends right there. Any tips ?
cuz he was usin a character with a run, so basically he was able to get to the next pack before the timer ended, it was damn close thou
OneButton Dash I keep trying with SOR 3 Axel and Skate and the counter runs out every time I’m about to break the bin thingy. 🤦🏻♂️
To keep the combos going you can time attacks against trash cans, or picking up objects. In some areas where enemies punch each other the combo meter will freeze when that happens. So there's an element of learning the stages, where objects are located and how enemies can be manipulated.
If you're playing on Xbox then the combo timer is broken. All the other versions allow you to hit objects to keep it going, and the timer also gives you an extra couple seconds before it breaks. Xbox doesn't have that. Devs still haven't fixed it.
