- Streets of Rage 4 is a brand new entry in the classic Sega Genesis series, developed by Dotemu, Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games. They had big shoes to fill, and I think the game they made is more than worthy of its name.

Floyd is a beast. I'm not sure who's better between him or Adam, but they're a cut above the rest of the main cast. Floyd seems to be the only character with a regular punch infinite combo as well. If you just do 3 punches over and over, you can lock enemies down as long as you time it right. Some enemies (mostly the bosses) have attacks that lets them escape the loop, so you just have to figure out who it doesn't really work on. In that case, you just have to use one of his super damaging combos (like this: 48:50)

Floyd is one of the coolest heavy beat em up characters ever.
Max is 1,000 times better.
I think he’s the best-designed “tank” type. Max in SoR2 was probably better but he also had some surprising mobility with slide and shoulder tackle, which is why I really appreciate how they designed Floyd. He plays more like a slow bruiser but his tools are so good and so much fun!

I've watched all of your Streets of Rage videos. You truly have this game mastered. Watching you play reminds me of when I was a kid and used to watch Kung Fu movies with my brother. We would try to mimic all of the moves because the actors and stunt men made it look so easy only to realize that it's a sweet science behind all of that stuff and those ppl train hours on in.
Keep it up. I've tried to play mania by myself with Axel and Adam (my two favorite characters) and I just completed stage 6. Lol!!!

@@thee_morpheus Facts bro I do the same I'm a monster with Floyd I just hate fighting bosses that are fast and quick on their feet because Floyd is so slow that it's hard for him to escape certain attacks unless he uses his air special attack

SOR4 Blaze and Max are my favorites but i am probably biased from SOR2 being my favorite game from my childhood ha. Your comments on how good Floyd is helped me decide to use him next on my Arcade mania runs. After i finish Adam oc.

Amazing video! I definitely have learned quite a lot from this one. The slamming of the two mooks at the
same time is the most creative move in all SOR history. There are things in this game that i can't praise enough -
like the artwork and music. But then there are things which are just mediocre - like the animation
quality and animation recycling (Blaze's head and Adam's Howl Fang to name a few). Followed by certain stuff
that is just out of the blue (level design choices, ignoring previous games' strong points) And then there are
things that are an epitome of slacking - like the old characters presented "as is", the so called "retro filter"
(Photoshop or Sony Vegas pixelate effect does not equal pixel-art), character portraits in the extras - being
just scans of the old box art - without even trying to hide (or enhance) this fact...and the overly hasty ending
to boot. It always feels like three completely different teams worked on this (which was indeed the case).
The first one was like: "let's max everything out"! The second one: "we did surpass the 1991 standards, right?"
And the third: "just copy-paste the damned stuff and be done with it!"... Streets of Rage 4 is a great
game in it's own right...but it is a lack of a high quality competition, which allows it to hang so close to the throne.
But as for the royal seat itself: oldschool still holds its ground too firmly to surrender.

I've seen Floyd with a different shirt and hairstyle in the heroes gallery; it would be so cool if they were available as well.
Here's hoping some DLC or SoR5 has those features!

Really? I did Normal for Arcade just fine. Characters like Adam, Blaze and the retro characters make it more manageable.

Adam is my guy, I agree he's one of the best characters in the game; and whenever I play online co-op, 9 times out of 10 the other person chooses Floyd.
The character isn't really my style, but the guy is a BEAST and works well with others, something I can't say as readily for other characters.
My favorite character is Cherry, her moveset is one of the best for combo strings plus shes quick............unlike any of the other characters in the game
@@johnnyjacks8212 I love fast characters as well. Cherry was my first pic, until I figured Adam out. He doesn't have all of Cherry's mobility, but his dash is EVERYTHING.
That said I've returned to Cherry, she's an amazing character once you start tinkering with her. She has to work harder than the rest of the cast but I'm learning she has some great tricks up her sleeve.
This is just a great game!

You struggle on Hard? I did a no death run on Hard recently. I can give you tips on that difficulty as well.

Yeah you want to try to lure certain enemies to handle some mobs better, use defensive/offensive specials at the right timing usually when there are health items around, know the enemy placement so you can get ahead start and advantage on them. It's crazy that I went through Arcade mode multiple times recently.=O

Axel is the weakest. He's slow as fuck and his specials always end up with him in a pose that staggers for milliseconds. Tho it's the character I enjoy using the most it is definitely the one I struggle more

@@mitu123Copper hope so. he's like a walking dead walking and his dragon smash is pretty much useless on higher difficulties. they need to remove the stagger that happens and add a shield when he's performing the dragon smash since we can't move him. it's ridiculous when your chaining on multiple enemies and a galsia or whatever come from up or bellow and cancel the dragon smash with a slap

That's arcade mode. Finishing the story mode on any difficulty unlocks it. Extra lives are also changed from every 8.000 to every 30.000.
