Thermostat location Mitsubishi Eclipse GT V6 3G

Upon removing the thermo housing- found no gasket on housing (not required). Rubber gasket holds the thermostat in place, if in good shape can be reused. Remove the gasket and put it on the new thermostat and replace. I removed the intake, but mine is cold air so it was easier, I removed the battery and battery plate, I did not unbolt any wiring harnesses, got by with just moving them out of the way. To remove battery plate-13mm socket, to remove thermo housing 12mm socket. So far so good, no leaks or any problems, check engine light now off. Total cost in this instance, $15, approx. time, 30 minutes to 1 hour of labor, not having to pay a mechanic...priceless.
