    If you slightly pry back those hoses with a small screwdriver you can squirt a small amount of wd40 in the hose fitting. It will then slide right off like nothing.

    Hey there I watched your video on removing the dried gaskets and i was doing the same thing that you were doing, it was a real headache so i called a junk yard to see if they had any valve covers for my gallant and i told him my problem with the gaskets being super heated and dried he told me do not heat valve cavers it may warp them and instead get some Acetone and submerge the covers in it and i did and what a difference those gaskets just dissolved and they came out so much easier just wanted to let you know this vid is from 2016 and it is Sept. 2018 hope this helps in the future i do watch your videos thanks again

      Oh...you are a life saver...4 years later. Also, if you slighly pry back those hoses with a small screwdriver you can squirt a small amount of wd40 in the hose fitting. It will then slide right off like nothing.

      I explained in the video how to remove the front valve cover, there's 2 bolts that hold onto a plastic cover, and then 6 bolts that hold the intake. My eclipse is in storage so when I get it out I'll be sure to bring more videos.

    Will you be teaching us how to remove the one under intake manifold?

    I have the same problem, with the same mode car just a different year. I have 2004 gts. I also see that there are 3 cylinders on the gasket, are there another 3 in the back? Because it is a v6 and there are 6 spark plugs.

      @Ps3mn1  8 років тому +1

      Yes, you have to take off the intake manifold to get to the rear set of cylinders.

    The back valve cover is a bitch to get to. Good luck.

    I was diagnosed with front and rear valve cover leaking oil, do I have to change just the one you did in this video or are there more?

      You would have to replace both valve cover gaskets. In this video I took off the front valve cover.

    I'm using fel-pro gaskets. Do I need to use RTV?

    • @Ps3mn1
      @Ps3mn1  6 років тому

      Tim Schwartz No, the gasket should stay put as you're putting on the valve cover. If the gasket slips you may need to use some.

    do u remember what gasket brand u used . because I went AutoZone a pic a fel pro gaskets and it's really loose

    • @Ps3mn1
      @Ps3mn1  7 років тому

      Fel pro is the same gasket set I used, it should only be loose enough to fit around the edges of the manifold and maybe a little bit of slack. If it stretches too much I would ask for an exchange. If it stretches too much the gasket isn't going to form a perfect seal.

    Why would you show the front valve cover and not even mention the rear cover?

    • @Ps3mn1
      @Ps3mn1  6 років тому

      AriochRandy This video is only for the front valve cover and not the rear. Sorry for the inconvenience.
