Thanks for that, I've been using it wrong and assumed that it was a very well simulated design flaw in a real life old analogue tech system. Additionally, and it's more of a observation on my pedantry rather than your flying, but mind mind was yelling "LEAN THAT POOR ENGINE!" throughout your vid 😂😉
Thanks for your kind words hehe and yes think im hearing you scream "lean" after watching this back lol, i forget about mixture on an odd occasion, put it on lean to taxi and sometimes forget about it too its only when i land i suddenly realise oops 😬
I find the VS ENG button does something particularly amusing when misused. If I set it to, say, 1000fpm UPand then hit ENG, it immediately selects 1000fpm down and sends me hurtling toward the ground, which presents a real challenge when starting a cruise climb shortly after takeoff. I wonder if the real-world version does this, or if it's an artifact of the Carenado implementation. I hope it's an artifact of the implementation... Thanks for the simple, detailed explanation of this mysterious and sometimes malicious device.
Thank you so much for explaining this as well as you did. This was driving me nuts. Thanks again!
No problem
