If you're curious, I removed all the stuff off the top of the fairy garden because I decided I didn't really like that part in the end. 😀

How did I miss this sleeper hit? I actually really liked the shape and would have stopped at the addition of a ladder. But this type of diy fairy cave will definitely be inspo for my kids and I this week!

Awwww so cute ... Little Benjamin I mean ... what a beautiful little gift from God. I also must say Laura, Aaron's a good little daddy 👨‍👦
I love that little fairy garden, something I've never done and that's to create a fairy garden. Thank you Laura for sharing this great little video with us all 👪💖🌈🌿🕊

So nice...you’re awesomely creative ! And to see Benjamin again when he was one year old...so oooooo cute. Beautiful boy! Covid has me cooking , crafting, baking ! I can’t wait for the garden centres to open again. Itching to redo my front garden with all the ideas from your videos!
These Highlight videos are fun to watch when I am busy crafting . Who knew I could stay home this long without going bunkers ???
Really got excited when you showed us your new piece of land ! What an accomplishment to have secured that 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
    Stay safe !

Now you can convert that "ladder down" into a "bridge across" (to another fairy garden planter) and let the little ogre/troll dude love underneath that bridge! 😆

Spheres are difficult to accomplish with hypertufa because all it wants to do is slump. I would recommend either two separate half spheres that you attach together once they're cured, or skip the 'tufa and go with thin layers of concrete (brushed on) in thin layers until you have a nice, thick surface.

It's almost refreshing to know that you can do a project that doesn't turn out perfectly, just like the rest of us. It rarely happens to you; but, we're NOT the only ones. Lol. Great save, though, Laura! You and your "esque' & "ish" words are so funny sometimes. I've seen some vids of hypertufa projects using both inexpensive plastic bowls and metal bowls for creating spheres. So amazing how perfectly the two halves are connected and the "seams smoothed over! Helen Wyatt of Georgia is really impressive with her Portland cement hypertufa projects on UA-cam. Benjamin is such a cute baby! Just don't encourage him to grow up or do things too early. They're little for such a short time and yet, some parents seem to want them to grow up too quickly. My daughter walked early at around ten months; but, was 14 months before she had a single tooth! Hahaha. Those precious times passed so quickly! Children are such blessings to us and it's a huge gift for your fans to be able to watch him grow and change. It's also nice to see you & Aaron grow and learn as parents. God bless you all, Laura. 💜

Just saw this today and I love your "save my fails" idea. Have you considered using a basketball? It's probably one of the sturdier balls available. You could cover the hypertufa with plastic (or a plastic bag) to keep it from shifting. Good luck. I'm going to search now to see if you tried again! (Loved seeing Benjamin so young!)

I think that came out really nice. I love doing seasonal fairy gardens for my Granddaughters. So when they come its always something new in my Garden. I love changing things up during those times I think it makes your garden look so fresh and here in Oregon we actually have real 4 seasons. So that is extra special and so much more fun for me. The sphere I agree I used 2 metal bowls and plastic wrap. It worked for me too
Oh my goodness Benjamin is getting so big.wanting to walk and everything. Pretty soon you will be chasing him in your garden.🌸🌾🌿🌺🌻🤗🍂🍁💞💞 and even helping which I promise from so much experiance from having 12 Grandbabies it is so much fun. and even with them being older and in college and things they still love helping me and canning things with me and my Mom. thank goodness for Gramma Gramma teaching us all this to keep it going for generations to come. 💞💞

Try using one of those exercise balls that people lay down on to help arch their backs and support off-the-ground exercises. Wally World has a brand that comes in three sizes. Because those balls are meant to hold the weight of a person, they hold up well as a form. I used a medium-sized one and it worked just fine with full-on cement so, hypertufa would be easy-peazy!! Hope this helps.

I think it turned out super cute! 👌🏼You asked for other spherical ideas & I’ve seen a yoga ball used as a form. It can be inflated & deflated quite a few times so it can be reused. With it being so large it would need to be reinforced with some mesh or other material. So many options it could be a fun project to try. 👍🏼 🧚🏼‍♀️🍄🧚🏽‍♂️🌿

Had a hypertufa fail last year. Number sign for our front lawn about 4 feet long by 2.5 feet high and 4 inches thick with the numbers as a negative space. Fell apart while tried to move it and slowly disintegrated each time we touched it. Now it is just a pile of sand like material. Change of plans ... cedar fencing boards. Live and learn😀

I've gotten into Hypertufa before, just as far as playing around with it many years ago. For the most part, I've been able to deal with the people that had been playing around with it too. BUT, many people had NO idea that ANY talk beyond just a few words were words of the competition, wanting to outdo the guy that came up with this all first.
