- There's nothing like a good surprise win in motorsports. We've decided to start a new seres chronicle unexpected outcomes, surprise winners, and crazy events throughout motorsport history, we call it Expect the Unexpected. Episode one features one of NASCAR's most unexpected winners, Justin Labonte. Born into a legendary racing family, Justin had a lot to live up to. Although his career was short, he achieved something so few ever have. Enjoy episode one of Expect the Unexpected.

Justin did actually drive for HMS in 06 at Memphis in the Lowe’s 5 car.
Yup. Kyle Busch was supposed to run he full season but Harvick had already clinched the title.
@@FlashbacktotheTrack here’s what always baffled me about HAAS CNC (before SHR) didn’t they have an alliance with HMS?
@@KR_Diecasts Yes. SHR was aligned with Hendrick until they switched to Ford in 2017.
@@FlashbacktotheTrack it must have been a stronger alliance once Tony took part ownership. Because it sure looked like two different teams especially pre 2009.

I mean it's nice that Labonte won but it was kind of a fluke since Mike Wallace ran out of fuel
If Wallace had enough fuel, I'm sure he could've held off Labonte but that stuff happens
Justin was way faster those final laps though. He was right on his bumper.
