11 is correct, but that first one isn't a half. Sure he didn't barrel roll off when his car caught air going backwards, but that first flip was still him going from upright to upside down to upright again, just in the same direction, to me, that first one is still a flip, so 11 total.

Sort of, the crash itself is extremely similar, almost identical on camera. However due to the safety improvements over the last 22 years we only see a portion of how Dale's body would have reacted, at least the initial portion. Still good insight and hopefully NASCAR can learn and improve safety while not slowing the car/making the racing worse. Not to sound cold hearted but racing is inherently dangerous, yes we should take what steps we can but at the end of the day there's always a chance.
@@anareel4562 Of course, but I mean in terms of how the body moved. It’s a bunch of science shit I’m too lazy to type out, but I’m 99% sure we could accurately see how Sr’s body moving by matching autopsy reports with how Blaneys body moved.

I was at that race with my parents. I got to meet Erik Jones again and he signed my Hurley t-shirt and my new Allegiant diecast. I also got to witness a flip in person for the first time. After all, this was the best NASCAR race I have been to.
Preece’s car initially landed in between the window net and the roof hatch, it cause the frame to buckle probably. The window net is understandable because the fabric of the net is lighter than metal, yeah yeah yeah, lot of science bullshit, but the window net was moving at a different speed than the car itself, enabling it to break off. The roof hatch most likely took a good portion of the force of the initial landing, causing it to break open as well. If you look closely enough, you can see that the roof is buckled in a little bit. He caught air initially because (and I know from experience on both Iracing and Forza), the height difference between the grass and the pavement is like a foot. Preece has just become a test dummy this season.
Obviously with the window net and roof hatch there's things to be looked at but I'm massively impressed with how not compromised the cockpit was compared to the Gen 6 suffering roof impacts. Definitely one of the things NASCAR did really well with on the Gen 7.
Okay, not gonna lie. It’s kinda crazy that you can tell that Ryan Preece’s car was still a car. If you should it to a 3 year old they would say it’s a car. Nascar out did the safety of the next gen car
