    Gotta like David Paul. Intelligent, calm, informed with NO hype or hysteria. The other Houston stations could take lessons from him.

      Crazy, crazy, crazy. I can still hear in my mind the suction sounds from around my front door as the winds outside escalated to 100+ mph and tore fences down, felled trees into cars, branches broken everywhere, loss of power for days. 5 minutes of sheer not knowing the outcome of each passing minute. Definitely marked on the calendar.

    The way this has kept moving up the coast on the forecast makes me feel it’s gonna be on Galveston’s doorstep. Luckily it’s just projected to be a Cat 1 and if that’s all we get all year, I would be happy with that.

      Back in 2022, Ian was forecasted to be downgraded to a Cat1 from a Cat3 at landfall due to strong vertical shear and dry air entrainment. Instead, it blossomed into a borderline Cat5 atlandfall in suite of all those factors.

    Im i the only one who sees it look like its splitting into two hurricanes? And also, im i the only one who says its going to hit Houston directly ? I mean look at it.
    PS: It hitting that yucatán peninsula is what in my opinion changed the forecast direction. Like if it didnt hit that land mass which acted like a car that was driving recklessly while speeding over the speed limit, hitting a speed bump, and causing the car (hurricane) to change direction completely. This is how i see this hurricane. 🌀 ✌️

    My last question, and most important question, is what time and day will the forecast will tell us in general if its going to hit houston or not? It it tomorrow evening or when is the earliest time we can say "okay, sunday around noon is when we should be able to tell you with a 90% probability that this hurricane will hit houston or not." Like this is now the question. Because im coming every day to see, and from what i seen, my educated guess is around this Sunday noon when the weather guys will know for almost sure if houston is getting hit or not. I just wish it was sooner, so until this Sunday at noon, my anxiety will be thru the roof. ✌️

    • @real_cade
      @real_cade 3 дні тому +3

      We should see the weather start to go downhill around 7pm Sunday and landfall mid day Monday

    • @Borakization
      @Borakization 3 дні тому +5

      If it’s only a Category 1 hurricane, I wouldn’t get too anxious. CAT 3s and above is where I start to feel anxious. Hurricanes are notorious for “wobbling” at the last minute so it’s always good to keep your eyes open until it’s hit land.

      We will know the track for certain by late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. If it stays at a low end category 1, it's likely going to go closer to brownsville and Corpus. If it intensifies(and it also depends on where it intensifies) the greater the chance of making it to Houston. It all depends on when and where it intensifies.

      95% of homes built can withstand a cat 2 and under. The 5% that can’t are neglected and maintained extremely poorly!
      You’re safe. Take it from a Floridian who has rode out every storm since Andrew, in a trailer park 😂

      Sunday night to tuesday morning should be the worst of it, hopefully it direct hits closer to corpus christi & not closer to us here in the htown metro/graater metro. But the storm is so wide, we will get rain & wind from it by being on the right/east side of it regardless of where it direct hits. Lets hope it doesn't stay over the warm to hot gulf of mexico waters too long; the longer it stays over the gulf of mexico the worse it may get. And of course, let's HOPE that the power stays on to all!! It's too doggone hot right now, extended power outages would be the worst right now!!

    Thanks David. Still wish they would set up in international waters off the coast of Africa and when a low tries to close circulation bomb ( conventional but strong) it from above in the N-E-S-W quadrants at the same time with timed charges at 3 various different altitudes per quadrant. Prevent it from getting to hurricane status to begin with, keep it a rain event with no closed circulation. It is 2024, the insurance industry and governments could save billions in property and life loss.

    Does hurricane Sandy and hurricane Beryl share similar characteristics? Sandy slammed the eastern United States as a combination hurricane/nor'easter/winter storm.
    Beryl will strike Texas (somewhere) as storms are coming from the north….just wondering🤔
