@@rjlarose5271 I'm not a clan player so I wasnt really interested in the kickstarter. But when they announced that crusader redesign would be one of the mechs you could get as an add on it was enough to convince me to sign up.
It's one of the Unseen mechs, I know, but the idea of including both long-range and short-range missiles on a single mech makes it a radically different mech than say, the Archer or the Catapult. I like it! Yes, under the original BT rules, the heat sinks aren't enough, but that was a 'normal' occurrence (look at the Stalker). If I could have a lance of Thunderbolts and Crusaders, I'd be a happy commander. Yes, yes, you could beat that with but I don't care. I'd still be happy. :)
Nice lore. Its been some years when I knew Battletech Universe, and in the Death Gray saga I've imaginated the Crusader killing Carlyle's dad with a punch. What a story. Since then I fear Crusaders, haha! If only PGI could put that mech online with those launchers in the legs... Thanks
I always loved the Crusader in 3025. It's got weapons for all ranges, it can do fire support, and it can close. One thing that always frustrated me, for some reason the Crusader always seem to fall apart real quick on me. Once it started taking damage, it was basically over and I don't know why because the Crusader has good armor.
Its a very ammo dependent mech design, prone to overheating, lacking CASE. One or two engine hits and I can see why. Definitely benefited from all the refits.
The Crusader gets targeted precisely _because_ of that ammo. It's best to keep it out of the line of sight until the LRMs are dry. Once the popcorn makers are out of ammo, bring it in to brawl with the SRMs and mediums. It's just too tempting for the enemy to ignore trying for an ammo explosion when the battle is young to even allow them to see it.
It's my favourite mech. I even made a larger version called Centurion (before I found out about the 50 ton mech) going on the concept of the upgrading British tanks because Centurion is my favourite tank.
While I live the look of the crusader, it has that classic 3025 problem of having decent weapons in multiple ranges but not actually shining in any of them
Just wanted to say I enjoyed your lore on BattleTech I've enjoyed all your lower on it since you started doing this part as well as your Warhammer 40K and Warhammer I will say though I truly enjoyed your narration of the books of the the grey skulls all three books actually reading excellent Voice's I enjoyed it tremendously thank you very much and keep up all the work you do even with the narration of the different books I do enjoy listening to your audio books thank you and have a good night.
This mech in its standard configuration quickly became my merc command mech. Its only weakness is being unsustainable in long term or solo combat. On the front lines alongside friendlies, however, it can excel at all ranges for quite a while and at short range indefinitely.
Crusader: when firing from the hip gets an entirely new meaning. Still i like the crusader much more than many other 60-tons-units.... yeah, even more than the catapult.
I hate the leg mounted SRM launchers. Makes more sense to put them in the left and right torsos (The Macross armored veritech had these pectoral launchers).
Is this considered one of the unseen? I think this one may be based off of the Macross heavily armored transformable fighter right?I know is only shown in one episode. Is that where they took the art from in their licensing deal? I think the Stinger, Wasp, and Hornet are also licensed art from the same show.
...Any chance of the Land Air Mechs getting a tech video down the line? I know they're rather divisive in the community, but I've had a soft-spot for them all the way back from playing The Crescent Hawk's Interception as a kid, and seeing this rather blatant Robotech-y unseen reminded me of them.
I hate the crusader. I hate the damned bloody thing so much, I can see why its useful... But fuck me if I've ever had one survive more then the slightest tap before exploding in a massive ammunition fueled fireball. I'll take a catapult instead any day of the week.
@@GrimDarkNarrator Back in the day there was a DOS game called The Crescent Hawk's Inception. I've never seen a battlemech so radically differ variant to variant then the Crusader.
One of those original Battletech mechs whose artwork over the years has suffered to try and get around Harmony Gold's lawsuits.
Sad days.

That is indeed a good question. I figured, if anything, it should hold out much longer especially GIVEN that armor.

Crusader coming to Mechwarrior Online with an absolutely badass redesign by Alex Iglesias!

All that ammo hanging out unprotected in the torso. So much like the trebuchet, it often has ammo explosions. It is a top notch beat stick though.

UA-cam operating as usual, lol.
