I use this meter daily on one of my benches. I bought the Owon as I already had a heavy investment on my primary bench with a Siglent bench DMM. The Owon coupled with good probes like the Probemaster 8000 series, it's perfection! My only complaint with the Owon that it has trouble with frequency measurements under 1500hz. Great videos on this channel. Sub'd!
Victor VC8045M is another similar OEM from Owon. Few dollars less, with Firmware version 4.2? Ordering one for my bench, quick access Multimeter don't have to worry charging battery.
Yes Rick, I use it almost daily. It is off just a little at on the 5ma scale but it’s not enough it bothers me for a cheap throw around meter. My fluke handheld is dead on at 5ma so I know the vmm1 is working correctly. It’s not a high end meter but I love having a very small bench meter handy all the time. It also interfaces to my computer and allows me to use my test cell I built with it to record readings as I test at different temps/frequencies/currents. This is something my handhelds can’t do. You will see this in those videos where I do component testing. For the price it’s worth it.
Positive probes wrong hence why you’re reading overload I’ve got this meter it’s awesome I use it all the time for electronics I wonder if it’ll be fine for my hv dc
Yea, that's what I said in the video when I realized. I wish I could say it was the first time I have done that but it is not. I would worry about using it on over 600V but for my knock around bench meter it's fine. The clamps for the probes are garbage but the probes, while not the best I have used, are not bad. I use another set of cables for it when I need the clips. And I have other meters if I need high voltage. I like that I was able to add it into my DIY testing and logging software over USB.
Hard to answer in a comment but keep an eye out for a video in the next day or so. I will give you a pointer or two on how my code reads from the meter. RJ
@@larryenglish8900 Yes, SCPI is does not stream data. This is normal on bench equipment you send the request and it replies with the answer. Or you send a command with parameters to change a setting. Good Luck! RJ

Thanks so very much for the sub! I use mine almost daily. Great bench beat around meter in my opinion.
What is your experience with it's capistance testing? Have you used it in the range over, say, 1000uf?

Thanks for the information.

Hey RJ, Are you still using this meter? Pros, Cons, is there any adjustment for that one current scale a bit off? Thanks RR

how can you get it to read volts back from USB >? cannot get it to respond

The video is online for you to review let me know if this helps or not.

@@LynxElectronicsLab ok i got it - have to send it SCPI commands and it does not echo characters back
but if you do SCPI stuff it does respond
