Great to see the US getting into box. The US/Canada matches at the world field lacrosse tournaments have always been excellent. Considering Canada's Field lacrosse team is primarily Box players, they've always given the US Field team a run for their money. Long live the great rivalry of the best sport in the world!
First off, hats off to Matt Brown and everyone who made the CCBLL happen. This is the foundation of something huge. Secondly, congrats to Jordan Shiparski for making this. Well done buds.
I played 10 years in Vancouver East, Burnaby and Coquitlam were always our rivals.. Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, . and South Ontario have historically produced the the best stick handling mo's in the world.... period... I'm one of them.
I’ve been playing box for a few years and coached by one of the best box coaches in the us who has constantly told my team that box makes you a better outdoor player and this new league makes me really glad the lacrosse world is playing box now.
Our local Baltimore indoor youth league is switching this year to box. The prior years were 6v6 with offsides and full size goals. The league has Tom Marechek putting on free clinics for the kids to get familiar with box. My son is really excited.
It seems the clinic helped, along with all the time spent in the backyard. First box game last night, my son (who plays long pole in field) scored 4 goals. Although the most impressive part was that he also played defense, ran the field and made the right passes when his teammates were open. I only hope we can get him back on defense in a few weeks when his regular team starts playing its Fall tournament schedule. :)
I loved the video. My team plays box at that arena and it was cool hearing about the games we heard about from our coaches (the players in the video) at D.U. Camp
I would crush his skull anyway. I don't even play boxlax and I'm in upstate ny. I hate people like that. one time I was playing attack. and a middie goes behind the goal (doesn't even have the ball) and he bull dodged me to score a goal. I WAS ON HIS TEAM!
Lax99 Not trying to argue, but this is a different type of lax for him he's not used to it. Now you are true about the selfish part but I just think he's trying to convert that to his field game so he can contribute more goals than normal. That's all! But you're not wrong tho
Almost every single highlight they showed, if you tried to pull something like that off in Canadian junior would get you killed. This more field in an arena than true box
Yeah My wording was definitely too strong. I don't think my point is invalid though. if these guys really want the skills and benefits that Canadians get from playing box they need to be immersing themselves in it with guys that grew up with it.
The collegiate league is part of a movement to introduce it at the youth levels as well. That's what's happening in the Baltimore area. The local rec leagues are now playing box (instead of "indoor" 6v6) over the winter and the club teams are starting high school level box teams as well.
Classic Americans they rather learn box from a guy who played a few years Jr a than come to Canada and be a part of the culture of box lacrosse. We go to them for field but they don't wanna come for box...that's why we are world champs 😆
you have a terrible point of view, they recruit our guys we dont go there, and what culture lacrosse is hardly alive in any community in canada these days ooofffff
@@alexpace1864 where is lacrosse big bc ontario lol most you dipshits cant even string your own heads or play both sports competently come at me with that weak chirp shit again little man and ill do more then break your little ankles on either field or floor. its dipshits like you that that people dont like in the game loud mouth pylon.
Hunter wheaton I played JR A in Alberta box has nothing to do with the concrete I've played on turf and concrete and if take turf every day of the week. When we had the rush they played on turf played on that floor a couple times it's honestly a better experience...
At least around here the indoor "turf" isn't really turf. It's more like outdoor carpet and plays like a basketball court. The kids play in sneakers, any type of cleats don't work.
Finally, I've been waiting for this!
We need indoor lacrosse as a sanctioned college sport! Like if you agree!
Yes please!
It would be cool if they sell out arenas like the NLL with schools like Johns Hopkins, Yale, and Virginia.
For most Canadian kids, box lacrosse is the game they play.

Last time I was this early I was still good at lacrosse
So cool how they mentioned Burnaby as well as showing a game between them and Coquitlam

This is awesome! Our ten year old is playing box for the first time this winter.
I went to this event in Colorado where I got the chance to watch these guys play. It was super cool and I enjoyed every second of it.
Greatest Game on 2 feet so glad my son is getting to be apart of the growth.....
This could definitely make my top 10 favorite lacrosse videos! Nice job TLN

Dale Betterton learning some sick stick skills from Hollywood
Yeah he was showing off a little bit. But honestly the best part was the pick and roll drill they had the kids running.
he should bring along jake bergey for those drills. jake set picks that are still a legend in the nll.

old school box - glad to see you are not playing offense/defense which was the nll style from 2000-2010.
Love it, especially being from Colorado!
Thought documentaries were longer than 10 mins... but either way, love it! Box is so much better than field! 🙌
Amazing! Really truly great!

This should be the ahl of box lacrosse for the NLL the NHL has one why not the NLL?
When you get absolutely no dislikes

First
Hastings walleye
Sick vid... But Baptiste is selfish af, if he pulled that shit in junior in Canada he'd get his skull crushed
I would crush his skull anyway. I don't even play boxlax and I'm in upstate ny. I hate people like that. one time I was playing attack. and a middie goes behind the goal (doesn't even have the ball) and he bull dodged me to score a goal. I WAS ON HIS TEAM!

Where are the goalie saves
Can I can get a shoutout for Lebanon lacrosse
Almost every single highlight they showed, if you tried to pull something like that off in Canadian junior would get you killed. This more field in an arena than true box
Jake Jaeger a bit strong on that one. Too much of the film was on two guys, and Trevor needs to look around once he gets doubled
Yeah My wording was definitely too strong. I don't think my point is invalid though. if these guys really want the skills and benefits that Canadians get from playing box they need to be immersing themselves in it with guys that grew up with it.
oach matt brown will be keeping real for them in that regards.

tbh After playing in the us the only thing i want to say is "fix your refs"
There's tendy's are trash lol
Poo!?
Americans want to get better at box, that’ll take away from their field talent which they’re barely first place in

Klassky17 KingKlassky your comment shows me you know nothing about lacrosse in Canada, and you’re probably a terrible player!
Why do they call it box when there playing on turf? If they wanna play box come to canada because US box is a joke.
Hunter wheaton some college kids might not have money to rent out a house in Canada or get a flight there so that might be why
I have played box lacrosse in ontario on turf a few times

Dale Betterton That's the same stuff I'm talking about it's indoor soccer turf
