    The thing to note is that I did not receive this from Logitech directly, so I have no specs/materials for the mouse AT ALL, I had to investigate EVERYTHING myself. The "Gaming Surface Mode" that you need to enable to be able to control LOD is something you should check out from other reviewers, or Logitech's website!

    Many thanks for always spending time on click feel. This is tremendously important, and it's confounding how -- despite mice having just a handful of categorical qualities -- many reviews still overlook one or more of them. Button quality (including sides) and click feel just shouldn't be such an issue for so many manufacturers, but it is (even after already having achieved tops marks on prior models). I have a number of optical button mice, and not one of them is equal to those with (good) simple mechanical switches.

    As someone who buys way to many mice this doesn't excite me at all, I will probably skip this release. Logitech really needs to revamp the g703 or bring out a new exciting shape already, they are getting left behind

    Common Haus W. My patience paid off. Time to upgrade to GPX 2. I have used the lightforce switches extensively on the G502x and to me they feel much lighter and better than the razer opticals for example. but thats just me.

    • @LyK0sa
      @LyK0sa 11 місяців тому

      I'll be interested to see if other reviewers have the same thing to say about the click feel. Everyone seems to say the 502X switches feel light, but there's nothing to say that logitech haven't tweaked it for the GPX2 and are going for a heavier implementation more in line with a lot of other recent mice. Personally I'd rather they were on the lighter side.

    This mouse sounds very underwhelming for an update to a mouse they released 3 years ago. it just sounds like a GPX thats moderately upgraded to meet whats been a standard in every mouse worth talking about thats released over the past year and makes the ULX from Finalmouse look like literal black magic with all its got going for it for a price of $189 vs this for $160. Unless this has one hell of a sale going i cant see any reason id buy it when i own a GPX ive had mods done to.

    Basically if you got a GPX in 2020 and it's worn out you can now replace it with a slightly better version of the same thing you like. Otherwise it's not as compelling as the Viper V2 or DAV3, IMO.

    • @LyK0sa
      @LyK0sa 11 місяців тому

      This is the boat I'm in, had the GPX since launch day and I know the shape works very well for me. I'm not too keen on the idea of heavier clicks though, the light click feel is one thing I really like with the GPX. I know the viper shape doesn't work for me, but I'm tempted to give the dave a shot instead.

    • @RCmetal11

      DAV3 sucks for competitive FPS though. It's an office task or MMO mouse. Sensor, clicks, and side buttons feel great and it's a comfortable ergonomic shape but it is not an athletic mouse. The width of the baseplate is WAY too wide and feels like it protrudes further than the side walls.

    In sweden it's more like 200 dollars. And they still don't make their own charging dock. Anything at 130 and up should come with accessories that reflects the premium price.

  • @nasko235679

    I actually think that the optical switches are a downgrade, because even if they can't double-click when they wear out mechanically after a year they start feeling mushy and if I'd like to change them there are no spares sold anywhere so the mouse becomes a paper-weight. Hopefully omron makes these widely available in places like aliexpress,then I'd consider upgrading.

    • @Moonwired
      @Moonwired 11 місяців тому

      So here’s a serious question, how hard are you pressing your left/right click buttons that they wear out after a year? Is there something particular about optical switches that makes them wear out faster? I always exclusively had the scrollwheel break way before anything else. Only ever had one mouse’s left click die on me, and thats cause i slammed it too hard, and it just broke.

    • @goochipoochie
      @goochipoochie 11 місяців тому +5

      Optical switches have nothing to do with "becoming mushy"
      Their spring system is literally the exact same as any other button
      Optical switches are by far better in everyway compared to traditional switches

    • @nasko235679
      @nasko235679 11 місяців тому

      @@goochipoochie Yes it is and I go through "every other button" in less than a year and when there's no replacement option I have to throw the mouse away. It happened with my Deathadder v2.

    • @stefanpapdi5151
      @stefanpapdi5151 11 місяців тому

      Well being 0.8ms faster is like going from 1000hz to 5000hz.
      4000hz is equal to 0.75ms so they improved their 1000hz by 0.4 and the other 0.4 is the frequency increase

    Had the superlight and it was very big for my hand... Sad that they don't make a "mini" version of this shape... Clicks are definitely personal taste, I have a op1we and I'm loving the clicks (It can also be QC related), just sad that the performance on the op1we is not on pair with the last releases from other brands in terms of hardware/motion delay and click response. Nothing that bothers me a lot since I play at 400dpi's... :P enjoying the mouse more than the HTX ace (36g) that was simply to light for me.

    The biggest reason why I havnt considered switching to yet another Log mouse is Razers mice seem alr head of the game atm by a while, theyve had optical switches for a while yet even still they have motion sync on the Viper V2 Pro. And even if they were identical id much rather have that consistency, yet I have seem NOTHING abt motion sync as far as reviews go on youtube. Only 1 video covered it and no one seems to cover that aspect of comparison. Seems like the response time are almost identical to majority of mice out there so is it even worth it?

    Hopefully an update comes out that gives us 4k polling rate. Coming from an m2k and testing the mouse from 1k to 2k, there was no visible difference in smoothness/tracking. But bumping it up to 4k/8k, mouse tracking feels super smooth that going back to 1k felt a bitter blurry/stuttery. Not a lot of games support the high polling rate natively but with a w11 update not too long ago, it fixes the stuttering issue and you can leave it at 4k/8k with no issues. Simple - someone has a relationship (more likely a financial) with the vendor who provide the parts. Usually the arguments those kind of people uses is the better parts are harder to secure, but the inferior parts are easier to secure.

      Not much can be improved from arguably the best performing 1khz mouse tech. They have improved what they can, without changing the formula they have with the original superlight. The only thing I can see is the optical switches should have been faster, which is a bit of a surprise

    60 ish gram is great balance between integrity and lightweight. Starlight 12 is lightweight but cost of its integrity. Wobble base and switches as well as gap between chase and base. The experience of using it was not really great. I eventually sold it. If starlight would fix its base, it is probably the best mouse ever created. Nonetheless, gpx2 is small upgrade and doesn't address its weaknesses at all

  • @ABCboy5

    Seems to be an upgrade all the way around, the switch change is way better if you ask me. The clicks were too light on the GPX original - tactile and harder to press is better.

    I honestly wonder if the clicks are more durable as the gpx 1 for me feels like cheap plastic and while clicking it very hard when panicking it sometimes gets stuck in a weird position amd after a year it eventually broke

    Yea the biggest thing I was worried about were the new switches. The opticals on the 502 X just werent that great so I wasn't expecting much. Unfortunately in my case this mouse seems like downgrade than any upgrade. Ah well, I've moved on from the GPX as it is so I guess this was just a sign.

    • @saint_snow

      @@dolphinchiang7219 recently ive adopted a fingertip grip and I find it just works better with my larger 19x10.5cm hands. So the pulsar x2v2 mini is pretty decent for it and I recently got the G-Wolves HSK pro 4k. It's pretty interesting but works well. If you are more of a claw person, the lamzu atlantis regular or mini is best depending on hand size. Heard good things about the new pulsar x2h but I havn't tried it.
      However if you are accustomed to an ergo mouse like the deathadder, I strongly suggest the DAV3 faker edition specifically. They use a different coating on that specifically that is more like what is on the gpx and other mice which I find is much better than the chalky feeling of Razer's original models.
