I always thought Nicholson's joker was good, but lacking a sort of "Villainy" energy to make him as intimidating as he is chaotic. Don't get me wrong, most modern adaptations of the Joker focus WAAAY too much on making him dark and completely lose the humorously unpredictable aspect of his character. The closest thing to the "QUINNtessential Joker" (see what I did there) was Mark Hamill's Animated Series Joker, a Joker that could brutally murder somebody with a sowing pin one minute then crack a one-liner the next. That being said, Nicholson's Joker is probably the closest thing to a comic-book accurate Joker on the big screen, bar the over-elaboration into his character before his transformation. The best way to put it is that Joker should be a villain the way Spider-Man is a hero, he is serious when he's committing triple homicide, but he carries himself as a comedian and keeps the audience entertained while staying a scary threat. I feel like it's also worth mentioning that I get SERIOUS nostalgia from this music because it was reused for the first LEGO Batman game, such fond memories...
I remember being stuck in a level that looped "Roasted Dude" as background music. Now whenever I hear it, I'm transported back to 2009. Good times. Lost times... but good times.
The piano Waltz to the Death was really good. I'd never heard it before this video
